The only good thing about this god awful heat is the obligatory play or 7 of this massive bop. It doesn't fit well on the 'Chemistry' album but as a standalone single it's quintessential GA.

I totally agree about the initial listen... I thought it was horrendous when I first heard it and to be honest didn't get into it until a few years later, now though I think its SUCH a grower I love it!

One of their worst songs for me.

Both then and now.

Nearly everyone I like a lot has that one or two songs that just aren’t too good and for me this was that song for them.

This is one of my summer essentials, much like how you have a go-to Christmas song. Never understood the indifference a lot of fans have for this, I've always loved it!

I loved it at the time and became a bit indifferent to it over the years, but it's aged SO well and it creeps up my singles rank every year, so underrated!

I think I quite liked 'Long Hot Summer' at the time, its not one of their absolute best singles though.

I LOVE this song and I always play it when the weather's nice. I remember that I didn't think much of it at the time, but it has grown on me a lot over the years.
