do u think it's one of the reasons why single sales have gone up the past couple of years...people from outside the UK downloading songs from UK retailers??????

and, will the UK charts still reflect british taste if a lot of people from outside the UK are participating in the making of the UK Charts?

Possibly, but I think it's mainly because songs are getting much more cheaper! And no way, I don't think it will ever not reflect upon British taste, there aren't enough people downloading "British songs" from outside the UK to have that much of an impact.

i'm not talking only about British songs, it's about buying all kinds of music from UK retailers from British, American, Australian etc.......artists.

The OCC once told me that people outside the UK cannot influence the UK Charts.
Only Sales by people with UK Credit, or Debit Cards, are sent to The OCC. It is easy for
Amazon.uk to filter out payments, by people who don't live in the UK.

but i use my MasterCard or my Visa and they are accepted for itunes UK, 7 digital & Amazon UK, so how could they not count it?
if the credit card is accepted then the sale is counted in the charts... rolleyes.gif

If you have registered a British account then it'll count towards the chart.

I have two iTunes accounts both with addresses for their respective countries so it should count if it's been properly set up.

I know iTunes you need a billing address but you can just nick one off google and use a store card for credit instead of a Credit Card kink.gif

As far as I know if you pay with a british card the download will count as a UK sale. If you pay with a foreign credit card it counts as an import for the specific country your card is from. (The same actualy that Zeus said)

I set up an account with one of the Irish download sites as its the only place to buy singles by some acts. When it asked for my country I just put Ireland (technically true as I'm in Northern Ireland! smile.gif ) I assume it counts towards the Irish chart as when I tried to register as a UK user it just referred me to the UK site.

I was going to suggest paypal for payments but that would give them your address
