Bonjour all and welcome to the final of BJSC LXXIV, but this time hosted back in Daehun after the catastrophic mess in Umiiruka! All participants are required to undergo body checks and thorough scans prior to being allowed entry to the country for security purposes.

Once again, the crucial information is presented below:

➮ ALL 68 nations who participated in BJSC LXXIV MUST vote in the final.
➮ Failure to do so will result in a 33% deduction (if your entry is amongst the final competitors) along with a ban in the next edition. Nations who participated but fail to qualify to the final, will also get a ban from the next edition if you do not vote in time.
➮ The deadline is MONDAY 20th APRIL 2015 23:59 GMT BST time. No votes will be accepted after this date under any circumstances.
➮ Submit your votes to myself, Oricon, before the deadline (and to nobody else).
➮ Do NOT reveal under any circumstances your provisional/finalised votes to anyone whether it be on BuzzjackPM/Plug.DJ/Facebook/Skype/MSN/Twitter/Snapchat/Instagram/Grindr and so forth.
➮ As announced, this edition is the first in which an extended final has occurred as announced previously. To avoid any confusion, the voting format in this stage will NOT be the Eurovision Scoring System (12 point system) but rather the 18 Point System as shown below so please follow it carefully when submitting your votes:

Talking of that statistic, should these new expanded finals with semi-finals get a new "Highest Points Final Achieved" record as I'm not sure if we can fairly compare the one big finals that Sheelah for example were in (48 countries) to what we are going to be having for the forseeable future (68+)? We've never had one big final and semi-finals so I guess it's a new format that deserves a new points record table - maybe?

...except it's not really fair at all because at current participation levels the number of points needed to place anywhere near that is ridiculously high. It'll take 510 points for a song to apparently be as successful as 'I Kissed A Girl' if everyone votes this contest

Anyway, I agree this contest can't really be compared to the previous 18-point ones.

I would argue that 'Someone Like You (Live)' was massively veto worthy! Assuming it's the first performance Adele did of the song on Jools Holland in late 2010, there was a massive online response to that and it followed closely after the debut of 'Rolling In The Deep', which had huge hype from the off, helped by her having a near-million selling album under her belt.

Anyway it doesn't matter now, belated WD Rob!

'Someone Like You' was sent before Adele became the MASSIVE name she is now, and it wasn't a single at that point either so although there was some hype around the Jools Holland performance it's far from the most veto-worthy song that got through.

I'm well aware she was nowhere near as big as she is now! She was still a very successful artist and I clearly recall that performance gaining huge online attention very quickly, to the point where the song was nearly overshadowing the hype around 'Rolling In The Deep'.

Anyway, I'm new to this so I'm sure there were much more veto worthy songs over the years.

This contest does have a similar number of finalists as most of the previous 1BF contests to be fair, the only difference is the inflated number of points that the extra voters will provide. Although I suppose it being separated in the stats thread would just be as valid as the first 6 contests being separated for a reason that I'm not entirely sure on (lack of semis and tiny contests?).

been through semi 1, a few gooduns didnt make it through sadly, but there are a bunch of tracks challenging my loves in semi 2, I've had to be very harsh and i'm down to 15 contenders. I'm glad there are more points available for the final, hooray!

Oh voted earlier What a BRILLIANT contest to enter in, was very tough ordering my top 15, my 10-15 were swapped around so many times, another 5 tracks or so that I really wish I could've voted for! Really is a testament to how strong I felt the quality was this month, taken away so many discoveries, yay!

I voted earlier, soooo glad about being able to vote for more countries, it was quite easy for me to narrow it down to 15 surprisingly, a lot of great tracks that haven't got nearly as much hype as they deserve so far, I'm pretty sure the winner of this contest will be an unexpected, possibly a "below the line prediction" could steal it

I'm going to sound like such a wet blanket again, but this has now become my favourite contest i've taken part in. I have made SO MANY discoveries across both semis. Finally voted after spending most of the week listening through the final. Positively gushing at the quality, i almost don't want this contest to end lol

Voted in the early hours and was very pleased to have the expanded points format! In the end I had exactly 15 songs which stood some way above the rest so it worked out perfectly. Am really interested to see how this contest turns out as it seems wide open and I'd be equally happy with a number of potential winners.

A country I think deserves a bit of hype is Ultraviolenceland - lovely little track and I could see it doing very well.

A little bit of a reshuffle and a few new grown passions and Vülkyria's Top 15 has been sent to Daehun.

I've come to terms with the possible obvious victory of a certain country even if it's a bit of a cheap entry but the song grew on me and it's easily their best to date. And no, it's not the Former Buzzjack Republic of Elëdan. ~.

I still think it's between Persephonia and Eledan myself. I don't really get the FSR Rontvia hype, do people really think it will win just because it sounds like 'RAMelia'?

I agree, it's in the same vein as "RAMelia" but it's nowhere near as great as that track. I can't see it sweeping the board. Same goes for the Former Buzzjack Republic of Elëdan, not as massive as Cut Copy. Not even 1% there imo, but I can see it doing well based on the hype alone. I can't see Persephonia going all the way either but then again I said the same for "Baba Yetu". Danaelanda though would be my bet but it's a very open contest this month.

The way '7even' builds is such a wonderful musical journey, the final minute-or-so is breathtaking. Would love to see that matching up to these high predictions.

I don't think '7even' will have quite the same wide appeal as 'RAMelia (Tribute To Amelia)', but then I don't think it'll necessarily need it as I expect the winner will be a relatively 'low' scoring one (it'll break the points record though ) so it could do it with a blitz of high scores, it's about the only song I think I can reliably predict will get that.

Increasingly thinking the Hot Chip hype is on name alone and it doesn't actually sound like a winner at all to be honest... I hope it does do well though as it is a good song albeit not exactly their best ~

'Stay' would also be a great winner

If we are going to have another dance winner I would much rather it be '7even' than anything else, I didn't really get anything special and certainly nothing as emotive from the other dance contenders. I agree in theory with what Bré's saying, it does seem like something that'll get a lot of high scores.

Would love a shock winner to be honest, feels like we haven't really had one of those for a few months. And in a final this high of quality (I think I listed more than half the final in my votes as votes or commiserations) I'd be happy with a lot of songs winning.

I don't see 7even finishing higher than low top ten. I'm glad a lot of people are finding it special (as for me the song is really stunning) but there's a large amount of disinterest too. I'm not trying to replicate RAMelia, I just find this emotional trance so gorgeous and nobody else sends it so I'm happy to fill the niche!

Fans of Unovia's track MUST check out Courtney's album, she's such a fresh and exciting talent, and it's a fantastic debut #16 seems like a criminal peak for it, I hope it becomes a cult classic.

I would welcome Unovia winning, would definitely be something of a unique sounding winner! It feels a bit polarising, but it'll have big fans I'm sure, either way I can't call a winner at all this contest which I suppose will make the results more exciting.

Can we please get some more Land of DW hype, classical and trance together is (oh and 7even is so much better than RAMelia)

can i just ask will bjsc be getting any kind of summer break, each month we are having to listen to more and more songs and it's coming to the point where one comp ends and the next begins, there is no break and i don't see how anyone with a semblance of a real life can put their best into each comp when it becomes so tiring. the competition is growing exponentially and you only need to see what happens when growth is left uncontrolled...i think a month long break sometime in summer would be wise

also why do we have to vote for 18 songs? just because the comp is bigger doesn't mean there are 18 songs you like and when it comes to 14th vs 17th in points what is the difference really? pls bring the 12 point system

BJSC has always had around a week between contests, as far as I'm aware that hasn't really changed recently? Not wanting to sound like a dick or anything, but if you want a break, take a break.

It's not 18 songs, it's 15 but that's being pedantic. I don't see it being much of an issue? There are more songs in the final and the majority of people seem to be finding it perfectly fine finding 15 songs to vote for. I obviously can't speak for everyone but I had over 20 songs I'd have been more than happy giving points to so the expanded points system was very much appreciated. The final has 10 more songs than it did before so it's not too difficult to find 5 extra songs to point surely?

Plus I'm actually enjoying BJSC even more than ever right now So many great songs and loads of discoveries. 2015 so far has been soooo much better than 2014 for BJSC, imo.

Yeah i was very much against the new system initially but it turned into a blessing as it meant i was able to support a lot more songs which was needed. I am still a bit EH about how it'll affect the stats but i can get over that (maybe).

Similarly to Joseph, i am re-loving bjsc now as much as i was in 2013 after getting a little tired of it last year. I wouldn't welcome a month long gap - the one in December is torturous enough (and especially not in the Summer when we all have a lot more free time!).

Buzzfestivalen is as close to a summer break as we get. That will be happening after the next contest. I keep a close watch over the scheduling and the ever expanding pool of participants. As it stands I believe it's very vibrant and energised in here and I'm not seeing the same signs of burn out that we had before the three month summer break way back around BJSC 28&29. TBO is designed to take a chunk of time up at the end of the year and then lead in to a winter break to allow for a gap and prevent burn out. It's something I am consciously aware of but right now I think the contest is in a good place and I don't really feel the need for an enforced break. Nations are free to step away at any time.

We've run finals this big before and we used the 1BF voting system then. It was found to be a positive feature so we always break it out when finals reach a certain size to allow people to award more points to things they really enjoy.

- The next two or three go into a second chance round
