It's anyone's guess in the singles chart - with the likes of Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Little Mix and CJ all having a strong chance. Potential Top 40 debuts include Olivia Rodrigo's debut single drivers license, Saweetie & Doja Cat's Best Friend, ZAYN with Vibez and Bugzy Malone & Chip with Notorious, while Kings of Leon return with new tracks The Bandit/100,000 People
On the album chart, Taylor might hold on for a third week, but anything can happen with low sales. There's new contenders from Barry Gibb with Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers' Songbook Vol 1 and Passenger's Songs for the Drunk and Broken Hearted, plus album releases from Morgan Wallen, Viagra Boys and Jazmine Sullivan

My prediction is Ed for #1. I can see him going all guns blazing to get it now Little Mix's campaign is out of the way.
Team Bieber though!
If she about Ed considering he’s doing well below 200k on Spotify!
> implying that anyone is doing well above 200k on Spotify
I'd really like Ed to get the #1 this week but I think he's highly likely to fall behind Bieber and might still be behind Little Mix too - it all looks really close though so who knows.
Would like ‘Sweet Melody’ to get a second week before something new that’s huge comes along!
Anyone is surprisingly low on Amazon, so might cost him the #1
Think it might be Ed thanks to being 59p on iTunes
Would be more useful if we had the context of where it was last week on Amazon.
I'd love Little Mix to get a second week but I don't care as they ended up with the Number one!
I'd therefore love Justin Bieber to take it!
I'm guessing it's going to be a battle between Ed and Justin, and I'm very much team Bieber this week as it's the best song he's released in like forever.
I'd quite like Ed and Justin to reach #1, but if I had to choose one it would be Ed
(Also I'm not too sure what to expect from them, but hopefully Viagra Boys can go top 40)
Olivia to beat both of those mediocre songs to #1 please x
I don't know which one is worse, Afterglow or Anyone.
I'm here for Little Mix to get 2 weeks at number 1.
Don't mind what happens after that but would be nice if they got number 1 without a fan buying spree just to highlight how big of a hit it is!
I didn't mind Ed's song at first but I'm bored of it already so if not LM hope Justin gets it.
I'd like Harry Styles to climb to the #1 position with Fine Line.
Drivers license #1 confirmed for this week after today's Spotify results!!! Kinda happy this is goanna block Ed & Bieber & Whoopty
Olivia is smashing number 1 this week..
I have a feeling Female artists are going to dominate this year more than ever!
Olivia all but guaranteed the number one with her massive streaming figures. Number one on both Spotify and Apple Music.
Lovely track.
Olivia's track is really growing on me now, gets better on every listen and towards the end of the track, it builds up to a nice finish, sounds really refreshing. Could hog the top spot for a few weeks, if there is lack of new material around. I would prefer it over Ed, CJ and Justin Bieber.
I'm baffled by this success but nice to see, I guess
Less than 10 mins to first look!
I hope Anyone is number 1 today.
20 Bugzy Malone & Chip - Notorious
What is this?!
A cover version of Saturdays?
They said one new entry so assuming Olivia's not even top 20, crazy that it could be coming for Friday's #1 despite not being top 20 on first look
Well this is not a cover of the Duran Duran hit
Olivia not in the top 20 then, not too surprised as yesterday's Spotify data is probably missing and Apple too
what the f is this
I’m an outlaw I’m a big boss
19 James Arthur - Train Wreck
18 24kGoldn feat. iann dior - Mood
what do you guys think of the new ACR rule after which basically labels can apply for any song to be reset after Xmas?
think it's a bit too relaxed... we have had enough of Tate McRae and Train Wreck
17 Nathan Dawe & Little Mix - No Time for Tears
16 BTS - Dynamite
They play BTS over Nathan Dawe
15 Billie Eilish - Therefore I Am
14 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights
13 KSI feat. Craig David & Digital Farm Animals - Really Love
12 Taylor Swift - willow
Wreckin' my balls, Miley
Makin' a storm, Kylie
11 Ariana Grande - 34+35
Come through Nathan & Little Mix
10 Tate McRae - you broke me first
9 Miley Cyrus feat. Dua Lipa - Prisoner
8 Dua Lipa feat. DaBaby - Levitating
7 Justin Bieber - Anyone
Streaming data clearly missing but I knew Anyone doing so badly on Amazon would mean it was lower down.
Surprisingly low for this, guessing there's at least one day of Apple data missing then. Justin's lagging on Amazon which could also explain it!
6 The Kid LAROI - WITHOUT YOU
Love ‘Without You’ great song, could potentially be my PC number one in the coming weeks. Sounds like something else I’ve seen!
Some is LM only multiple week number 1 ? Dont see it happening but would be nice if SM did, also hopefully NTFT stays top 20
5 Meduza feat. Dermot Kennedy - Paradise
4 Shane Codd - Get Out My Head
3 CJ - Whoopty
I'm in between with Woopty, on one hand I like it but on the other hand, it's a strange song.
Well that's the 5th non mover
2 Ed Sheeran - Afterglow
1 Little Mix - Sweet Melody
250 sales between them
Ahh amazing at least they got another first look #1
Olivia coming tho
251 sales in it between the top 2
I can't see LM getting a second week at #1 with Olivia Rodrigo probably coming for their wigs this week (number 1 on Spotify already)
How is Olivia doing on Amazon? Her Spotify numbers are probably enough to get the #1 regardless.
She is also #1 on AM, not just Spotify
Guessing Apple's Saturday figures must be missing, Olivia only blew up on Saturday (on every platform) and Apple seems to be Bieber's strongest platform, I think there's a good chance they still end up being the top 2 this week.
Oh my god Olivia Rodrigo is gonna take the charts by storm, fantastic.
I wonder if Barry Gibb could get the #1 album? I've seen it promoted quite a bit, could be able to manage at least 10k+
How many artists born in the 2000s have had a UK #1 single?
Not 17 year old Olivia coming to block Ed bloody Sheeran from the top spot. We love to see it 😂
I can’t see Ed being #1 even without Olivia. With all the data missing today (Spotify, Youtube and seemingly Apple Music) he’s only beating Little Mix on Spotify and only by 1.6k streams.
Will this be the first UK number one in a while that hasn’t been on the Radio 1 Playlist?
looking at iTunes album, Barry Gibb is #1, so he could be #1 in albums come Friday in the current low market
hope Passenger goes top 10 too
^ Plus it might be on the playlist by Friday.
'drivers license' did 658K on Spotify yesterday, over triple the #2 song... I'd say this will be comfortably at #1 by the end of the week if it keeps rising the way it is
It’s such a great song, very “January” in the best possible way.
Olivia is STORMING, yay!
Barry Gibbs #1 today in albums, Passenger #2. Not really surprising though, the numbers will be more telling

joseph confirmed he's a stan of viagra boys
I know its on low sales but good to see passenger get another high charting album.
That Zara Larsson tune is decent, the vid is great as well. Love the confidence, pure sexy.
Yes for Passenger - hope it doesn’t drop too much over the week
https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singles-chart-update/, Olivia at #2 but that's obviously without most of yesterday's streaming data!
Update on previous post is being filled in!
'Save Your Tears' top 40
Save Your Tears top 40!
(just)
Update post is done, Music Week sales added - Olivia's 651 sales behind Little Mix.
Steps and Paloma's albums just in free fall now
Excuse me, what placement is Love Goes at?
Glad to see Little Mix look safe for #2 after Olivia overtakes since they’ve extended their lead over Ed since yesterday.
“Apricots” at No100; obviously it'll be gone tomorrow as it is only doing around 500 digital sales a week, but nice to see it there.
If Olivia and Little Mix can stay as the top 2 (whichever order idc) that'll probably be my favourite top 2 in a while!!
Also SO HAPPY that Save Your Tears is looking good to become another hit for The Weeknd!
The Kings of Leon released 2 songs this week. I notice "The Bandit" is at 55 but no sign of the other track "100,000 people" which I prefer. Is there any chance it will also make the top 100 by Friday?
LM increasing their lead from Ed but I think Olivia will snatch it
Sales seem healthier anyway! Little Mix are 2.2k up from same point last week and that was before the sales push happened. So it'll be interesting to see what 'Sweet Melody' ends up on. I'm gonna guess about 28k?
Wow I was not expecting to see 'Save Your Tears' in the top 40 already!
The @talkofthecharts Twitter account noted the other day that its rise on streaming platforms following the music video release is reminiscent of that of 'Watermelon Sugar', I can only hope that it goes on to be as big a hit on both sides of the pond as that - one of my favourite songs of 2020 and my favourite song from The Weeknd ever, criminal that it has taken this long for it to get its chance in the limelight but hooray for it finally happening.
I see Bieber is actually still quite far behind Little Mix/Ed, hmm! I guess his advantage on Apple must just not be that big then.
I was wondering why I hadn't seen anything about this Barry Gibb album being a posthumous release. Turns out he's still alive. Must have been confusing him with Robin.
Buzzing that LM will end up on zero weeks of decline again!
So shocked that Ed and Justin aren’t doing bigger numbers to be honest.
As much as I don’t get the Crazy hype and streaming numbers for DL, at least it’s another fresh number one but I’m worried it’ll end up staying there for weeks and weeks
Save Your Tears top 40 and Good Days top 20 *.*
Oooh with those sales Passenger could stay at #2
Great to see Ava's "My Head & My Heart" in the top 75 at #73 and The Weeknd's "Save Your Tears" top 40 at #40. I hope both can climb as the week goes on.
I hope "Prisoner" can hold at #10, but it'll likely fall throughout the week. Glad to see "Midnight Sky" hanging on in the top 40 at #33. Fingers crossed it'll get another week top 40 this week. The album looks safe for another week in the top 20.
Really hope Save Your Tears can go top 40!
Was hoping Taylor could get another week at #1 in the albums or that LM would have a chance but that sees out of reach for both now
Olivia guaranteed the Number 1 now, seeing songs debut at number 1 is something different as it doesn't happen nearly as much these days. Loving seeing paradise looking at a possible top 5 this week, was also hoping Becky Hill would be climbing into the top 30 this week.
Hope the Weeknd SYT can stay in the top 40
'Anyone' not even top 5? WE LOVE TO SEE IT.
That Olivia song is an absolute different class so far ahead of other songs at the moment.
Loving Bieber still, glad to see it's doing well.
Only if someone from the band dies.
Aren't Glass Animals charting as we speak? And Bring Me the Horizon just before Xmas rush.
maybe Florence & The Machine if she decides to go back to a more commercial sound like in the earlier days
Would you really class her as a guitar-driven band though?
Prediction: Drivers Lincence will be a Dance Monkey-sized number one.
Depends what the playlist makers decide
The fanbases are there, load of recent bands are doing bigger tours than singles charting artists

Crazy Sales for Olivia.
Little Mix well ahead of Ed is great!
SZA top 15
Nathan x LM
Wow - Olivia. Good for her (not a fan, but well done)
Good to see Little extending their lead over Ed
wow grabbing as 10K lead in just 1 day
Yay at Olivia pretty much securing the #1!
WOW Olivia!
Yes come through LM beating Ed again!
We need to remember that Spotify's share is becoming less and less and Apple and Amazon are taking more of the market these days.
Olivia's sales jump omg I wonder how high it'll finish the week with?!?!
65k + for Olivia this week??
Cosidering Spotify is missing for yesterday too!
Impressive showing for Olivia especially as a debut single! I think we've been waiting for a big sales track for a while! I can imagine it'll only increase next week also. Happy to see Good Days and No Time For Tears top 20 and Saweetie and The Weeknd top 40! The fresher tracks seem to be making headway now
Great to see 'Save Your Tears' climb safer into the top 40!
Olivia's success is incredible. Was saying last week, with the low sales, that we are in dire need of something big to come and shake up the charts. Never did I think it would be a debut single to do it!
SZA top 15 for me is such a moment too. I never expected this kind of commercial success from her if I am honest, given Good Days is so true to what she does and not at all trying to be a hit. Just shows that she really shines the public love when she just thrives in her authentic sound.
Passenger looking safe for #2.
Wouldn't be surprised if Ed edged past Little Mix by Friday.
Really great to see Barry Gibb getting a solo number one, absolutely love the Bee Gees so it's nice to see Need to give the album a listen also.
Good to see that sales are on the up in both charts from last week.
Any sign of Drake releasing yet? Hoping it'll be the 29th if its in January at all so BMTH can get to #1 with their physical release
I just really hope that Passenger doesn’t drop out of the top 40 next week, but I think it’s likely
Really good to see SZA in the top 15! Hopefully Good Days will end up close or in the top 10 by the end of the week.
I wonder if Olivia could get close to 100k. She added 14k between the Monday and Tuesday update but I think she could add 20k plus in each of the 3 remaining days, plus a load of missing streams.
LM to stay T3, great.
Not complaining but what has happened to cheesy Ed's sales?? How did he not get another 300+k no.1?!! My prediction was that he would come back bigger than ever, supplanting Adele after a chart battle with ha! Now he wouldn't even supplant a 25k sang!!!
He released a song that wasn't pandering to the pop crowd x
yes let's ignore Afterglow was instantly added as track 1 in all existing Spotify playlists
Yes, let's x
!!
Well, it seems like most people did.
Hope this Olivia track stays at #1 for a long time and blocks Ed and Bieber
No shade but am I missing something with this Olivia song? It's nice but how has it become so big? Who is she?
Amazing to see Save Your Tears in the top 40. Hopefully it becomes another top 20 for Abel at least. A top 10 would be the dream though.
How long before we get a 2010s baby in the chart then do we think? We got a 00s baby at #2 as early as December 2010 last decade in Willow.
Blue Ivy came very close in 2019 with a #42 hit (as guest on Beyonce's Brown Skin Girl), it can't be long before she appears on another Beyonce song or has her own song.
People born post-millennium are going to start being the majority of #1s pretty soon, we'd better start getting used to it
BMG have got sales on at all their artists stores at the moment - hopefully it will give the Steps and McFly albums a boost this week

Is Ed likely to take the number two spot by the end of the week?
Ah right looked like he had closed in, thanks!
Olivia has already exceeded the #1 sale from 8 of the past 9 weeks!
Very happy to still see LM ahead of CJ and Ed - thought they may have slipped behind this week.
I'd say 100k is still not out of the question for Olivia but might depend on what they estimate for Thursday. She should be at least in the 90s anyway.
She'll probably close with over 90k, won't she?? She increased nearly 20k since yesterday.
is miley still #10?
Olivia has c1.19m streams today. Just on Spotify. Could she break 100k sales>
Where is Levitating, Don't Start Now and Future Nostalgia (album)? Thanks
So pleased to see Passenger at #2 - such a good album!
Passenger has been sending comms today to try and get some more sales - Not really sure he can get anywhere near number one
Precise sales from Music Week have been added to the update. 9,892 of the 12,181 sales from Barry Gibb and 4,032 of the 6,996 sales from Passenger are physical.
'drivers licence' has managed just shy of 5m audio and video streams.
I think Harry Styles might overtake Little Mix for number 4 but both will be very close in sales.

Yep, Passenger has actually lost sales...
Good that Barry Gibb is actually pulling some sort of halfway decent numbers. At least it's not another week of a sub 10k #1 album.
Strange update with Passenger's total going down and Viagra Boys' album climbing though...
Those sales for Olivia Tues 25k, Wed 45k, Thurs 65k, are we actually looking at 85k for the week.
Amazing to see Olivia doing over 80k!
Olivia really coming for 10+ weeks at #1!
When was the last time we had a 100k+ selling number one that wasn't charity related?! Think Olivia could do it next week maybe!
How close will she be to 100k this week? Will the missing Spotify + YouTube get her to 75k as of today?
Anyone know where her other song All I Want is? Likely to sneak in?
