The addition of streaming really has stagnated the #1 position quite a bit. Even in 2010-11 you'd see a nice turnover of hits, but then you get to "We Are Young" in 2012 when streaming was added and suddenly it's 6-, 8-, 9-week #1s in succession. The best year in recent memory for turnover is 2006. Digital had just been added the year before, which led to a slew of quick-shot #1s. 19 that year, none spending more than 7 weeks, which is ideal imo. As for the poll: #1: "Blank Space" #2: "Drunk in Love" #3: "Habits (Stay High)" |
