I do see the criticisms that Roar is too "pop by numbers" and is certainty one of her safest offerings, but I still think it goes off, it's quite undeniable, and I'd have it a few places higher. Higher than The One That Got Away and Firework for sure!

'I Kissed A Girl' and 'Roar' are two of her absolute worst so I am thrilled they are gone.

IKAG hasn't held up as well over time, but it'll always have a really special place in my heart.

I've began to enjoy 'Roar' again lately, to be fair it's one of the most overplayed songs of the decade though.

09. California Gurls
Average: 7.81
Lovers: Michael, Riser (10)
Haters: Nick F1 (3), Regina (4.5)

Another shock drop out here as California Gurls can only manage 9th place! It is one of her most personality-filled and fun pop tracks and has one of the catchiest hooks of all of her tracks. It is also probably my favourite Katy video, how glorious does the candy land and candy floss cloud look and who can deny the iconic-ness of the whipped cream squirting bra?!?

08. Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)
Average: 7.83
Lovers: JosephSharman (10)
Haters: Cremey, Michael, troublepink, Mike Sugafan (6)

I wasn't expecting this to get this high at all but it managed to avoid any real low scores which certainly helped out its average. In fact, it got the joint-highest, lowest score if that makes sense as the lowest score it received was a six! I was expecting it to get a little lower as it is probably one of her sillier tracks but it's undeniably joyous and never fails to put me in a good mood anyway so I'm glad to see it do surprisingly well!

Watching the CG and LFN videos, I'm reminded of how flawless the TD era was (before the CC edition at least). wub.gif Can't believe all of the original 6 TD singles have made the top 10. laugh.gif

'I Kissed A Girl' is incredibly basic and only relies on the novelty of it.

'Roar' is a BIG, powerful, pure pop anthem. Like Joe says, it goes OFF! And it's very rare we get something like that nowadays. We have big songs, but not quite as pure as that!

Actually genuinely pissed off it is beaten by 'Last Friday Night (TGIF)' :') Which is only helped by it's video... </3

Average: 7.97
Lovers: Tinasha (11), West, Regina, troublepink, Addy King, Andrew (10)
Haters: Davidson (3), JosephSharman (4)

This is the only track from her debut to make it in the top 10 but it does seem to be one of her most liked. It's another fun track from Katy and it has loads of hooks in the chorus but just like IKAG, I do find it a little dated now. Still a fun track to bop to from time to time but not one I go back to very often personally.

06. Chained to the Rhythm
Average: 8.07
Lovers: Lotita (11), Andrew, Harrier, UltraGreenLight (10)
Haters: Nick F1, Tyler (2.5)

So Katy's most recent track enters pretty high right off the bat, I knew it was popular here but I was not expecting it to be top five for the majority of the results counting. It eventually dropped a place to six by the time everybody had voted but I think that this placing is pretty great for a brand new song. It marks a new era of Katy with more thought-provoking lyrics but she seems to be keeping all her fans happy too so good on her. I am hoping we get another Teenage Dream or Dark Horse from the next single though heehee.gif
