sad, he was intending to run for parliament, less than seriously I think, that would have been good to see..

He has stood for parliament a few times. On most occasions, he was trying to beat the record for the fewest votes. He never got particularly close to succeeding. His nomination papers (for Hampstead and Kilburn) were completed and submitted but he died within the period when nominations can be withdrawn.
