There is a country in the country list we have that we do not recognise, so it is either a country that has not registered or someone who hasn't made public their name change (not that we'd approve such a name anyway).

This country also hasn't even submitted an entry (you can tell that one entry belongs to *this* country name) so either make an edit otherwise we will delete it!

My first veto Not surprised at all, but I had to give it a go.
I still believe that there are only about 10/70 who know this beautiful song (I heard it in the series 'One Mississippi' some weeks ago, haven't heard it before) and it would've been a great discovery for some others.

Yeah, had to to give it a go, every month there are 1-2 cheap entries going through that the mind boggles, so there was a slight chance of me making it. I think a third of the people doesn't know 'Should Have Known Better' (that would mean 20-22 participants, that's a lot), but I totally understand the veto.
Unfortunately my backup is nowhere to be found online (youtube and soundcloud, at least) - so I went with the song I planned to enter in BJSC 90 - this one's definitely not a veto, but I'll need certain people in my semi, otherwise I'll flop Land of DW-style.
Btw. I'm not good at being vetoed... I couldn't modify my original form, so I submitted a new one - is it ok like this or should I modify the original form somehow?

it would be the case that the month I planned on leaving is when I have like three songs I'm kinda stuck between, I haven't been this inspired in so long. I think it might be one of those times where you've just got to go with your first instinct (a pop bassy bangaaa from a Portugese band) but then again I'm utterly obsessed with this cute but edgy indie rock song but Idk how BJSC friendly that is. One of my faves have a new project and they've been teasing a new song all week that sounds like a really solid, upbeat pop-rock jam from the preview but they've not said when the full version is coming out

Delirious is utterly beautiful and a song definitely worthy of further listens and analysis (even after it being so high for me in my EoY, that it has some rather metal-esque progression for an alt pop song always impresses me), definitely a clear veto though as it was the first time it was vetoed, easily the song I've seen people talking about most from that wonderful album.

Chris if you have extenuating circumstances that means you will struggle to vote then do PM us in advance of the semis opening with a good reason why and we can do our best to accommodate you!

That has happened sometimes but for a few years now the AQs have always voted in both semis (apart from the time FARC were an AQ and didn't vote in either of them lol ~) - I'd be happy to just make an exception and give you and Jake one semi each this time considering your limited Internet access but I'd need the mods to approve that.

Well, seeing as the one of the few people that it actually matters is happy with any arrangements made is online; lets make some!

The rules have been very carefully written, deliberately so, to instil areas of flexibility. One such area is this one. There is no rule that both AQ's must vote in both Semi-Finals. It's a long established convention that they do so as part of the trade off for bypassing the semi's and because at the root of it all we are all about discovering new music. The reason there's no rule is because on occasion it's not practical to do that and it then allows us to be a little flexible.

The two options we have are

1) Nobody Auto-qualfies (it is optional after-all) and everyone votes where they've been assigned. Usual penalties for non-voting apply
2) Each AQ has 1 semi final to vote in and the 15% deduction for not voting in the other semi final is waived provided you vote.

As option one involves losing your AQ status, Chris the decision is yours alone (consult your twin if you wish, idc, just as long as you let us know from your account which option to take). I very much doubt that option 1 will be taken but I prefer to give everyone the full range of options available to them. I'm a whole picture kind of person.
