Might as well have a discussion to decide which version of this classic, and over-sampled song, is the best! Thanks to whosampled.com I’ve tried to include as many “dance” related covers, samples and remixes as possible, all in chronological order, to give you a full flavour of varying uses.

Which versions stand out to you?

Here is a Spotify playlist to help you decide;

I’ll post my own choices soon after hearing the songs in full.

LMC, they were actually inventive with the sample (and mashed it with U2 also)

Oliver Nelson in second place.

My first introduction to the song was the 2004 track by LMC, which I had no idea was originally by Whitney Houston. I loved the song then and still choose it over all over versions here.

Original, LMC, Postiljonen and Oliver Nelson for me!

Both the recent two have been very un-necessary.

Original remains the best for sure!
Will also add Oliver Nelson remix to the checklist alongside W&W's version which suits my current type of music.

Original

the worst by miles and miles is the Guetta/John Newman, everything is so cheap about that version....

I went for Whitney Houston, LMC, W&W (never heard it, but most things they do just work) & David Guetta.

Voted for LMC, Rachel McFarlane and U2 version - its wonderfully emotive with the U2 sample although I do like the 80s freestyle grooves of the original Whitney version.
