105 = Ella Eyre // L.O.V.(e). = 177pts
Chart Run (25-20-28-28-25-30-22-21-23-29-32-34-39)
Peak = 20
Weeks on Chart = 13 Weeks

At 105 is Ella Eyre’s only song on my EOY chart with L.O.V.(e). a song which stuck around my chart for quite a number of weeks despite only spending 1 week in the top 20 at 20. The song yo-yo’d up and down my chart for 13 weeks in total, however despite the lengthy chart run never quite got the push needed to become a bigger hit. The song is alright and the chorus kept getting in my head. Not a song that I’ve really returned to, however it’s a shame that barring dance features, Ella hasn’t really managed to cross over to have a massive solo career.

104 = The Pussycat Dolls // React = 181pts
Chart Run (12-18-22-21-20-21-26-28-33-32-37)
Peak = 12
Weeks on Chart = 11 Weeks

At 104 is the 2020 return by the Pussycat Dolls with their song React. The song is actually a bit of a bop however only peaked at number 12, it did though manage to spend a total of 11 weeks on the chart before exiting. I was never the biggest Pussycat Dolls fans, but React is fairly decent and it managed to do relatively ok for a pop song in the 2020’s biggrin.gif

103 = Duke Dumont ft RY X // Let Me Go = 181pts
Chart Run (09-10-15-18-20-21-25-33-38-40)
Peak = 09
Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks

The first of 3 appearances by Duke Dumont next as Let Me Go makes it to 103 in my EOY Chart. The song followed on from 2 big Number 1’s for Duke Dumont earlier in the year with Therapy and Love Song. This however managed to peak at 9 and spend a total of 10 weeks on the chart. I still think this is a good song, however it doesn’t quite reach the heights of Therapy or Love Song - the drops in this are great though. Duke’s output over the last couple of years has been brilliant and his album is strong too.

102 = 220 KID x GRACEY // Don’t Need Love = 186pts
Chart Run (29-28-35-X-23-26-24-21-19-22-26-30-33-36-X-36)
Peak = 19
Weeks on Chart = 14 Weeks

The second and final appearance by 220 KID next with his song with GRACEY. The song actually had 3 stints on my chart, however it only peaked at 19 spending 1 week in the top 20, however a total of 14 weeks on my chart. A bit like the Ella Eyre song, I did like the song, however it took a while for me to get into it properly and even then it didn’t quite manage to propel itself into a monster hit. I do think this is catchy, however a little on the basic side, also the song songs a little raw in places.

101 = Sub Focus & Wilkinson x PAWWS // Ray of Sun = 188pts
Chart Run (04-06-13-19-19-22-27-30-X)
Peak = 04
Weeks on Chart = 8 Weeks
(Still Charting)

Just missing out on a place in my top 100 is another dance song and the first to two songs by Sub Focus & Wilkinson, this one Ray of Sun peaked at 4 and has so far spent 8 weeks on my chart and is still charting. The song builds up kind of slowly, however the drop and music are great as are the vocals by PAWWS. Given its trajectory, it probably wont be making my 2021 EOY chart, however it is still a song that I’m playing a fair bit.

L.O.V.(e). is my favourite of Ella's in a LONG time, she really got it right with that one wub.gif React was incredible too, just a shame we've not heard anything from PCD since sad.gif

100 = David Guetta & MORTEN ft Lovespeake // Save My Life = 193pts
Chart Run (05-12-17-17-15-17-11-X)
Peak = 05
Weeks on Chart = 7 Weeks
(Still Charting)

Should probably post more of this as its been a few days…. Kicking off the top 100 is (yet another) dance song. I’ve liked quite a number of the David Guetta/ MORTEN tracks and definitely an improvement on most of Guetta’s output for the last few years. This is the first of two of their tracks to make a dent on my EOY Chart… Let’s Love only managed 141st place. Save My Life entered top 5, however only achieved one week in my top 10, it however clocked up a further 6 weeks in my top 20 and is continuing to chart now.

99 = Will Saul x Paul Woolford // Your Time Is Up = 194pts
Chart Run (03-02-01-02-03-X)
Peak = 01
(1 Week @ Number 1)
Weeks on Chart = 5 Weeks (Still Charting)

Up next the dance continues with Will Saul and Paul Woolford with Your Time Is Up which managed to reach the top of my chart for a week. The song is still charting, however managed to rack up enough points in 5 weeks to reach my EOY top 100. This is the first of two appearances by Paul Woolford who secured a big hit with Looking for Me in 2020 too. Your Time is Up I guess could be seen as bit generic dance, however I think it’s a bit of a bop and got quite a retro vibe which is in a fair few dance hits recently. As its still in my top 10, it will probably feature on 2021’s EOY chart too.

98 = Miley Cyrus ft Dua Lipa // Prisoner = 195pts
Chart Run (02-02-06-08-14-19-X)
Peak = 02
Weeks on Chart = 6 Weeks
(Still Charting)

Another recent song that managed to clock up enough points in a short space of time is Miley and Dua with Prisoner. The song actually charted higher on my chart than Midnight Sky… but I have to say I do prefer Midnight Sky and it does end up higher here. I do like Prisoner though it just dropped quite quickly after its initial peak.

97 = Ella Henderson // Take Care of You = 198pts
Chart Run (10-10-14-19-17-17-26-27-32-40)
Peak = 10
Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks

The first of three appearances by Ella Henderson next as Take Care for You managed 97th place. The song I thought was alright and seemed to borrow a lot from Symphony by Clean Bandit in places. It was definitely a lot better than the song which were released in 2019 which I found a little bland and not that catchy. Take Care of You managed two weeks in the top 10 and peaked at 10… spending 10 weeks on my chart. That is a lot of 10’s. I don't think it quite reached the heights of her collabs with Jax Jones or Sigala though and Dream on Me was better too...

96 = Sigala ft Ella Henderson // We Got Love = 198pts
Chart Run (X-06-12-15-18-16-22-27-29-32-35-40)
Peak = 01
(3 Weeks @ Number 1) (Peaked in 2019)
Weeks on Chart = 11 Weeks (In 2020)

Another Ella Henderson song next and its her feature with Sigala which was 39th on my 2019 EOY chart and notched up 3 weeks at the top of my chart back then too. This year it had another 11 weeks on my chart to make it to 96th position. Sigala was the last live act I went to see back last Feb before the lockdowns came (although did manage to see Rob Beckett 2 weeks before the first lockdown too) which possibly helped this sustain its chart run for such a long time. I still play this though and think it’s a bop; it’s a shame it didn’t make it top 40 initially… but I think that wasn’t helped due to Christmas songs flooding the charts.

95 = Lady GaGa x BLACKPINK // Sour Candy = 199pts
Chart Run (06-06-11-13-19-24-26-31-35-40)
Peak = 06
Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks

At 95 is the first of two Lady GaGa track in my EOY top 100. Sour Candy actually charted higher than Rain on Me on my chart, however Rain of Me had a lot more longevity meaning Sour Candy ranks lower here. It actually spent 2 weeks in my top 10, peaking at 6 and spent a total of 10 weeks on my chart. BLACKPINK also gain their first and only appearance on my chart with this track. I found this song a bit more catchy and instant than Rain of Me… however must be said that I return to the latter a lot more than this.

94 = McFly // Happiness = 199pts
Chart Run (08-10-13-17-20-20-27-27-32-37)
Peak = 08
Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks

McFly returned once more in 2020 after releasing ‘the Lost Songs’ in 2019. They reformed to reformed to release a further album in 2020 with the first cut being Happiness. I actually still quite like this song and It got quite a summer vibe to it. Happiness is the only song of McFly’s which entered my chart last year having had a number of their lost songs enter in 2019. Happiness peaked at 8, spending a total of 2 weeks in the top 10 and 10 weeks overall on my chart.

93 = Ella Henderson x Roger Sanchez // Dream On Me = 201pts
Chart Run (09-12-14-18-22-25-28-23-28-32-38)
Peak = 09
Weeks on Chart = 11 Weeks

Another Ella Henderson appearance anyone? This is the third appearance of Ella in the top 100 and her highest song on my EOY chart. Dream on Me was the second single she released in 2020 and sampled Roger Sanchez’s Another Chance. I did like this song but given the names attached and the sample used I feel like this should’ve smashed more. I saw people claim this to be the song of the year but whilst it did peak at 9, it didn’t stick around my chart for that long and slowly exited my chart after 11 weeks. I think it’s the chorus for me that is the issue – it just doesn’t have a big enough of a hook.

92 = Paloma Faith // Falling Down = 206pts
Chart Run (11-16-18-17-14-18-23-26-29-35-38)
Peak = 11
Weeks on Chart = 11 Weeks

Paloma Faith makes her first appearance on my chart at 92 with her single Falling Down. It followed Better than This (which is still to come on my EOY chart) and managed to peak at 11. I seem to go in waves of really liking Paloma’s output… some of it I find a bit meh, but this and Better Than This really clicked with me. In total it spent 11 weeks on my chart with over half that time in the top 20, it just couldn’t quite get a top 10 peak.

91 = Oliver Heldens ft Rowetta // Rave Machine = 206pts
Chart Run (04-05-07-13-17-24-28-32-35-39)
Peak = 04
Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks

A second appearance from Rowetta and the first appearance by Oliver Heldens on my EOY chart with the song Rave Machine. This peaked at 4 on my chart in its first week, however after 3 weeks in the top 10 its sort of plummeted out of my chart spending only another 7 weeks on there. The song uses a 90’s sample and has a retro feel to it – another dance bop and one that I still play, it just didn’t have any real longevity at the time on my chart.

90 = Lady Gaga // Stupid Love = 207pts
Chart Run (16-23-26-23-25-27-11-17-22-26-31-38)
Peak = 11
Weeks on Chart = 12 Weeks

The top 90 kicks off with another GaGa track and the second highest on my EOY Chart; Stupid Love. The song initially entered the chart at 16 and then looked set to have a bit of short run, however then in its 7th week reached a new peak at 11. As I think I’ve said before I had a but of a resurgence in listening to some of GaGa’s older stuff, Stupid Love I don’t think I’ve returned to at all really… maybe next time she gets a resurgence it’ll become a favourite biggrin.gif With Stupid Love's exit, it means only Rain on Me is left in the running for Lady GaGa...
