From a quick scan of the charts, 2002 strikes me as my favourite and 2003 less so out of the others just got cause the quality for me in 2003 wasn't quite as high as the first three years overall!

For me 2003 is one of the best Christmas No 1 battles of my lifetime! I went for that as best and 2002 as worst.

Probably 2003 as there were a few too many ballads for my liking (I like both Mad World and Christmas Time Don't Let The Bells End though) and barely any dance songs about but at least there was a great tune from Lost Brothers and a decent one from Ultrabeat.

I went 2001 for best and 2002 for worst but I love all four! 2001 just takes me back to a very special time, I can’t quite explain it.

2003 was my favourite due to finally having a classic new Xmas song to get behind in the Darkness and a brilliant challenger in Gary Jules!
2001 is special for me as it was 2000-01 when I really started beigg by a chart geek. 2002 was the worst just full of cheesy poor dance music (following an amazing 1998-2001 period) and loads of boy/girl groups that were just not as good as the previous graduates in the 90s! |

I copy and pasted the lists and kept the songs that I liked enough to include in my 2000s playlist, created a couple of weeks ago, by that criteria my ranking of the years is:
2002 [14] > 2001 [11] > 2003 [10] > 2000 [9] [number of songs included in the playlist from that top 40] |
