POINTLESS FORTUNE It's a ... slightly new format. But mostly just two old formats smashed together. You have 14 questions – all you need to do is answer each one accordingly - Pointless - what you think will be the least popular answer - note that maximum points are given for incorrect answers. Family Fortunes - what answer you think will be the most popular - there are no wrong answers. Answers must be sent to my PM inbox before Monday 9 November at 11pm. You get a point for every poster who puts down the same answer as you. If you put down a wrong answer in a POINTLESS question, you will be given maximum points. Your Family Fortunes score will then be deducted from your Pointless score to see who has the least number of points and is determined the winner. All questions relate to the OFFICIAL UK singles chart as determined by the OCC, not The Big Top 40, the sales only chart, or any other chart. I hope that all makes sense! Good luck! POINTLESS Questions: Name a Christmas song that charted in the top 40 last year. Name a Dance song that charted in the top 40 this year.* Name an Australian performer (band or solo artist) with a top 40 hit. Name a top 10 hit by a female rapper.* Name a #1 single that appears on a #1 STUDIO album.* Name a top 40 hit by Drake that is NOT a collaboration. Name a performer who has exactly seven #1s. * Dance song, as in the genre of dance music (any song that has a thread in the Dance forum) * * any top 10 hit where a female rapper is credited counts * * any compilations (I.e. early volumes of NOW!) or Greatest Hits compilations do not count * FAMILY FORTUNES Questions: Name a #1 hit that is or contains a proper noun. Name a performer who has had at least two #1 hit singles, including at least one as the lead and one as the feature. Name a top 10 hit with a colour in the title. Name a song you'd associate with a dance. Name a performer who hasn't been seen in the top 40 singles chart since 2010. Name a performer who has been the featured artist in a top 40 hit, but hasn't had one as a lead. Name a hit song from 2020 that is widely considered (on Buzzjack) to be rubbish. |

Phew, I always forget how long it takes to think of these questions.
I almost had it where the pointless and FF questions would be the same, but eventually thought that would be too confusing - but if a future host wants to try it then the idea's out there. Hope you enjoy having two formats in one! |

Looks good, keen to play along. In the Pointless section, are you to give a list of answers that you think are correct, and then say which one is your final answer?

A great idea! It’s always hard when it’s Pointless because I then think people will go for obscure answers so I go obvious. Doesn’t always work in my favour.
For the question “Name a performer who hasn't been seen in the top 40 since 2010”. Is this both the singles albums or both? |

No - just simply give your 'final answer'.A great idea! It’s always hard when it’s Pointless because I then think people will go for obscure answers so I go obvious. Doesn’t always work in my favour. Could you explain better the question about the noun? What do you mean? Isn't like everything a noun?

QUOTE Hi Dan! - must be a song of the Dance genre (if it's been posted to the Dance forum, it counts)A few queries on the Pointless Section: Name a Dance song that charted in the top 40 this year - Does a song with Dance/Dancing in the title technically count here? Name an Australian with a top 40 hit. Can a band count here or does it need to be a solo artist? Name a top 10 hit by a female rapper. Can this be a feature or it needs to be them as the lead artist or solo only? Thanks - either or - may be a feature Could you explain better the question about the noun? What do you mean? Isn't like everything a noun? I mean just proper nouns, not any nouns dictionary definition if anyone is confused: the name of a particular person, place, or object that is spelled with a capital letter: Examples of proper nouns in English are Joseph, Vienna, and the White House. |

Name a performer who hasn't been seen in the top 40 singles chart since 2010.
Does this mean they have to have been in there in 2010 and not since, or any act who's just not been in since then, so could have last charted in say 1997? |

^ I'd understood that as they had to have had a Top 40 single in 2010 but none since then - surely that would make more sense, otherwise there's hundreds of acts who haven't had a hit in the last ten years

In that case I might rethink my answer for that one, I spent ages trying to find an act who charted in 2010 but hasn't charted since

Entered! As always I never know where to turn in Family Fortunes so hope I've turned the right way for at least some of the answers.
