At our Monday quiz last night (we won, hooray) a music question came up and gosh darn if I failed on a music question that was very specific. Name the 5 biggest songs (in terms of chart-placing) with Rhythm in the title.

We got the top 3 but the other 2 were annoyingly less immediate, and the 2 we tried were lower top 10 rather than top 3's.

Answers if you want them now but have a go first - 2 are fairly well-known, one is 70's 4 are 90s:

Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick
Rhythm Is A Dancer
Rhythm Of The Night
Rhythm Of My Heart
Rhythm Is A Mystery

and not:
Fascinating Rhythm
Rhythm Is Gonna Get You
Slave To The Rhythm

I’ve thought of 3 out of 5 immediately

Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick
Rhythm Of The Night
Rhythm Is A Dancer

I haven’t looked at the spoiler so will see if I can think of the other 2 later.

Snap! - Rhythm Is A Dancer
Corona - The Rhythm Of The Night
Rod Stewart - Rhythm Of My Heart
are the 3 I thought of - saw the others and probably should have got at least one of those - and yes, Noisettes should be here too.

I got 4/5. Didn't get Rhythm Of My Heart but probably would have thought of it eventually if I'd spent more time!

Nope didn’t get the other 2 but did think of both the #5 hits, Rhythm Of The Rain and Chained To The Rhythm.

ooh well done on getting Noisettes Alex, looks like the quiz makers forgot the 21st century! As did I, happily or I might have grumbled about it! (The quizmaster is always right even when they are wrong if you've bought in the quiz from a company) I can't believe I forgot Chained To The Rhythm, Julian, it's one of my top 10 tracks of the 21st century, no question! Rhythm Of The rain was the 60's song I knew I knew but couldnt quite remember, I was thinking 50's and Rhythm and Blues in the title. It's surprising how hard it is to think of songs with specific words in the title!

The Ian Dury one? It's well worth a listen, and you might find you recognise the tune.
