LEAST FAVOURITE SINGLE SURVIVOR! ROUND 34
Rules are simple. Simply vote for your LEAST FAVOURITE Single in the poll. The one with the most votes leaves this round and progresses no further! --- BUH-BYE: Into the top 5 we go and starting us off is the forever underrated, under appreciated, self empowering anthem 'Stronger'. It went on to be a big top 10 hit here in the UK and I believe it did well in America too! It served as the 3rd single to be taken from her huge 2nd album. Had it not been released Christmas week and saved for January, I genuinely believe it would have been a top 3 hit, or perhaps even a surprise number 1 like BTMYH was. But it's OK. It was still a hit and in January, after falling to #14, it somehow managed to climb back into the top 10! Not sure why it received a random boost, maybe promo? But whatever it was, I'm here for it. One of my all time favourite Britney singles. ELIMINATED: 5th = 'Stronger' 6th = '(You Drive Me) Crazy' 7th = 'Gimme More' 8th = 'Womanizer' 9th = 'I'm A Slave 4 U' 10th = 'Work Bitch' --- 11th = 'Piece Of Me' 12th = 'Till the World Ends' 13th = 'Born To Make You Happy' 14th = 'Circus' 15th = 'Me Against The Music' 16th =' Hold It Against Me' 17th = 'Lucky' 18th = 'Overprotected' 19th = 'Sometimes' 20th = 'Make Me' (feat. G-Eazy) --- 21st = 'I Wanna Go' 22nd = 'Break The Ice' 23rd = 'My Prerogative' 24th = 'Slumber Party' (feat. Tinashe) 25th = '3' 26th = 'Do Somethin'' 27th = 'Boys' 28th = 'If U Seek Amy' 29th = 'Scream & Shout' 30th = 'I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman' --- 31st = 'Outrageous' 32nd = 'Criminal' 33rd = 'Radar' 34th = 'Perfume' 35th = 'Don't Let Me the Last To Know' 36th = 'Someday (I Will Understand)' 37th = 'I Love Rock N Roll' 38th = 'From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart' 39th = 'Pretty Girls' (feat. And you better correct that JT stan in the pop forum because I’m trying to act my age, not my shoe size. But, what a CHALLENGE. |

Oops. Definitely. Don't worry. I've put a message in the thread. I wanna get away from that sort of rubbish in these topics. I get enough of that crap on Twitter/social media lol. And you better correct that JT stan in the pop forum because I’m trying to act my age, not my shoe size. But, what a CHALLENGE. Thank you for not biting! I know it must've been hard for you, so I really appreciate it. |

I've voted for 'Oops'!
But Stronger only hit #8, so I dunnooo, maybe a surprise top3 in January with more promo. Had it not been released Christmas week and saved for January, I genuinely believe it would have been a top 3 hit, or perhaps even a surprise number 1 like BTMYH was. But it's OK. It was still a hit and in January, after falling to #14, it somehow managed to climb back into the top 10! Stronger peaked and entered at #7 in the UK on Sunday 10th December 2000, so it was released two weeks ahead of the Christmas week! [07-11-14...] - #14 in Christmas week. It climbed to #10 in the Sunday 31st December 2000 chart. I'm not sure how much promotion she did over here for the single, but she performed it on CD:UK (not sure which week it was aired in though). 10/12/00 198,000 ~ 01 (New) Eminem featuring Dido - Stan 188,000 ~ 02 (New) Bob The Builder - Can We Fix It 103,000 ~ 03 (01) S Club 7 - Never Had A Dream Come True {2 weeks} 56,000 ~ 04 (02) Destiny's Child - Independent Woman Part 1 {3 weeks} 54,000 ~ 05 (03) LeAnn Rimes - Can't Fight The Moonlight {4 weeks} 47,000 ~ 06 (06) Baha Men - Who Let The Dogs Out {10 weeks} 44,000 ~ 07 (New) Britney Spears - Stronger 43,000 ~ 08 (05) Public Domain - Operation Blade (Bass In The Place) {3 weeks} 40,000 ~ 09 (New) Wyclef Jean featuring Mary J Blige - 911 30,000 ~ 10 (10) Tweenies - Number 1 {6 weeks} 17/12/00 214,963 ~ 01 (02) Bob The Builder - Can We Fix It {2 weeks} 152,000 ~ 02 (01) Eminem featuring Dido - Stan {2 weeks} 79,000 ~ 03 (03) S Club 7 - Never Had A Dream Come True {3 weeks} 71,000 ~ 04 (New) Robbie Williams - Supreme 51,000 ~ 05 (06) Baha Men - Who Let The Dogs Out {11 weeks} 48,000 ~ 06 (05) LeAnn Rimes - Can't Fight The Moonlight {5 weeks} 46,000 ~ 07 (04) Destiny's Child - Independent Woman Part 1 {4 weeks} 43,000 ~ 08 (08) Public Domain - Operation Blade (Bass In The Place) {4 weeks} 38,000 ~ 09 (10) Tweenies - Number 1 {7 weeks} 38,000 ~ 10 (New) Kylie Minogue - Please Stay 11 (07) Britney Spears - Stronger {2 weeks} 24/12/00 (Christmas Week) 359,639 ~ 01 (01) Bob The Builder - Can We Fix It {3 weeks} 230,000 ~ 02 (New) Westlife - What Makes A Man 133,000 ~ 03 (02) Eminem featuring Dido - Stan {3 weeks} 114,000 ~ 04 (03) S Club 7 - Never Had A Dream Come True {4 weeks} 87,000 ~ 05 (05) Baha Men - Who Let The Dogs Out {12 weeks} 59,000 ~ 06 (New) Oxide and Neutrino - No Good 4 Me 54,000 ~ 07 (06) LeAnn Rimes - Can't Fight The Moonlight {6 weeks} 46,000 ~ 08 (09) Tweenies - Number 1 {8 weeks} 46,000 ~ 09 (07) Destiny's Child - Independent Woman Part 1 {5 weeks} 46,000 ~ 10 (04) Robbie Williams - Supreme {2 weeks} 11 (08) Public Domain - Operation Blade (Bass In The Place) {5 weeks} 12 (New) Sugababes - New Year 13 (12) Wyclef Jean featuring Mary J Blige - 911 {3 weeks} 14 (11) Britney Spears - Stronger {3 weeks} 31/12/00 90,244 ~ 01 (01) Bob The Builder - Can We Fix It {4 weeks} 60,000 ~ 02 (03) Eminem featuring Dido - Stan {4 weeks} 53,000 ~ 03 (04) S Club 7 - Never Had A Dream Come True {5 weeks} 43,000 ~ 04 (02) Westlife - What Makes A Man {2 weeks} 39,000 ~ 05 (05) Baha Men - Who Let The Dogs Out {13 weeks} 38,000 ~ 06 (06) Oxide and Neutrino - No Good 4 Me {2 weeks} 25,000 ~ 07 (09) Destiny's Child - Independent Woman Part 1 {6 weeks} 18,000 ~ 08 (07) LeAnn Rimes - Can't Fight The Moonlight {7 weeks} 18,000 ~ 09 (11) Public Domain - Operation Blade (Bass In The Place) {6 weeks} 17,000 ~ 10 (14) Britney Spears - Stronger {4 weeks} Stronger was the 123rd best selling single of the year, with 127,000 copies sold in 4 weeks. Her weekly sales for week 2 & week 3 are unknown unfortunately, but probably somewhere in the 30,000-39,999 region in both weeks. So even though she climbed 4 places and back into the Top 10, her sales probably more than halved in that week, to 17k. #8, #10, #12 & #13 from the week before experienced worse declines than Stronger. at Who Let The Dogs Out outselling her in Stronger's release week. Not sure if that's better or worse than Kylie being narrowly outsold by The Tweenies a week later? If Stronger had been scheduled for January, I think she may have managed a #4 or #5 peak with it instead - but I assume it'd have been on weaker sales than the 44k she sold to reach #7 in December. I'm not convinced she'd have pulled off another 'Born To Make You Happy' scenario and taken it all the way to #1. The first two #1s of 2001 were Rui Da Silva on 68,473, and then Jennifer Lopez on 67,879, so quite a lot stronger (lol~) than Stronger's first week. It's certainly a shame that Stronger was her first single to miss the Top 5 here. Although obviously her single after that did a lot worse and became her first single to miss the Top 10, so the Oops! era took a downturn with each single release. DLMBTLTK entered and peaked at #12. 25,000 copies were required to make it into the Top 10 that week, but it's not known how much she'd have sold for #12... maybe 20k? Curiously it was her first single since '...Baby One More Time' to be released with a CD1 & CD2 (every single in between only had 1 CD), so that really was quite the flop for her! |

YES. GIVE ME THE STATS *.*
I misread polyhex. They do "Week Ending" and I took it as "Week Beginning" haha. That's interesting to see though! Thanks as ever! |

This top four is so strong now I plumped for 'Oops...! I Did It Again' as it may have an iconic video and spoken middle 8, but has the weakest chorus of those left.
