Rumours are circulating the lead single is called "Call My Name".
Sorry that's massive.
I love it when you call my naaaame
Please don't tell me I'm the only one who thought of that?
Alex Da Kid is the producer and writer of Call My Name.
There are rumours from a PJ member that the single will premiere on April 20th on Radio 1.
I wonder if this will trump Charlotte Church's 'Call My Name'? If it does, it'll be EPIC.
Lots of pictures coming from the shoot:
HOT!
Loving the new hair too Officially excited for this project! I'll open a separate single thread when there's concrete news on the title
Lily posted another pic with the caption "Call My Name".
She's looking great there
So excited! I agree, if it's as good as Charlotte Church's song of the same name it'll be bloody amazing!
Bloody hell !
She looks proper incredible !
@CherylCole
Topic split.
So excited for this now! I'm guessing it's called "Call My Name", but it could be "Say My Name" too.
Intrigued to see what she'll come up with, hopefully it's alot better than what she's previously done. I only really enjoyed 'The Flood' and 'Fight For This Love' until that got ridiculously overplayed.
Did you found more pics? I'm waiting for her music, but I'd like to see her tattoo, and I have the impression that her breasts are smaller:(
VERY excited for this. Wasn't a fan at all of Messy Little Raindrops (bar Promise This), but I did love 3 Words. Hopefully we'll be hearing this soon! I wonder if she'll get a push in the US, off the back of her X Factor appearance? They know who she is now (kind of), so I don't see why it wouldn't be worth a try. Is anything planned?
Video director is Anthony Mandler. His past videos include "Maneater", "Irreplaceable", "Disturbia" (and many other Rihanna videos, but that's his best) and "Run This Town", as well as the currently unreleased video for "Starships". It should be fantastic then, from that and the photos above
Really really excited for this. After everything that happened I'd really love for her to come back with a bang and smash it. She looks gorgeous in the pics, one problem I have is the tattoo on her leg! I like all her other ones but that is just absolutely vile and looks cheap.
Finally! Though I am quite apprehensive for the release. I love Cheryl but I wasn't too keen on her last album, four tracks aside. As usual though she looks stunning on the pictures and I'm really glad she's reverted back to brunette
FINALLY! Need my guilty pleasure back!
I need to know the date of the premiere, the waiting is "killing" me !
It should be really soon now, the video will be ready in one or two weeks I assume, and we already know the title track. She better unleash it to radios soon.
Can't wait to hear this.
She made me a loon with 3 Words but lost me with the messy little album. :/
This better be good to justify the lack of Girls Aloud material right now!
I hope this is better than 'Promise This', not that it could be worse.
I love Promise This! It was Fight For This Love that was the dud for me.
(I know this is unpopular)
I never was actually that massive on 3 Words personally. Obviously Fight For This Love is still her best song by FAR, and I also love the title track, Parachute and Rain On Me but tracks like Don't Talk About This Love, Heaven and bloody Make Me Cry are awful.
Messy Little Raindrops had it's awful moments too (Live Tonight is still utterly unlistenable) but LT is the only track I'd skip. I'd say 3 Words has higher highlights but Messy Little Raindrops is my favourite album of hers overall.
Just for the sake of it, Cheryl top 5:
01 Fight For This Love
02 Promise This
03 3 Words
04 Hummingbird
05 Rain On Me
Both of Cheryl's albums so far have been sloppy and pretty poor by anybody's standards, but 3 Words is definitely the one packed with more genuinely good songs. I can barely listen to Messy Little Raindrops anymore, minus five or six tracks. I'm hoping she's spent enough time on this album for it to be a solid pop album.
I quite like Make Me Cry. Fight For This Love is MILES better than any song she's done, but I do love Parachute too. I can only remember two songs of Messy Little Raindrops - the two singles...
I only have 3 Words. The album is ok, the singles and Rain On Me being the highlights. The rest of the album has a cheap sound to my ears, it's like they finished 4 songs and the rest were demos.
FFTL, 3 Words, Parachute, Promise This (It's a tune) and Rain On Me >>>>>>> Hummingbirds, Yeah Yeah, Happy Hour (if only they produced that song better) >>>>>>>>>>> the rest
Fight For This Love, Rain On Me, Stand Up and Yeah Yeah are her only 4 actually good songs I'd say. Messy Little Raindrops is probably one of the worst albums I've ever heard, 'Amnesia' being the ultimate horror.
It's a shame, I do actually WANT her to do something good.
The ultimate horror on MLR was Raindrops. One of the worst songs I've ever heard.
3 Words was an alright album, not great but not awful but Messy Little Raindrops was terrible all round. I absouletly despised 'Promise This' as well. Although 3 Words was of reasonable quality, the only Cheryl song I still listen to today and I would say I really love is the title track. It is just brilliant, and was very different compared to the generic clean cut pop of FFTL
I'm surprised no one is mentioning Waiting as the only other track with hit potential from the Messy Little Album.
And I'd have to say
1) 3 Words
2) Fight For This Love
3) Waiting
4) Rain On Me
5) Promise This (brilliantly redone by Adele at Live Lounge)
6) Parachute
7) Boy Like You (I'm a sucker for that sample!)
the rest is a bit naff tbh
I'll agree with the general opinion of Messy Little Raindrops. The only song I still like from it is 'Promise This', and even that I haven't listened to in a while.
Also, Calvin Harris has tweeted saying he "can't wait" to see the video. I wonder if this is one of the tracks he's produced?
Cheryl has just said "you ready Calvin?" in response. Is the first track Calvin Harris produced? EXCITE.
She'll no doubt be ripped apart by the media for 'bandwagoning' but if it's anything like We Found Love I am SO ready.
I want NOTHING LIKE We Found Love. It is possible to work with a producer and produce a song within the same genre without sounding like a total rip-off, and if they've gone for the We Found Love sound it will only disappoint.
All this talk has got me to playing 3 Words again. And soon I will dare to pull out the Messy one too!
Moar stills:
And well there's a bunch more here:
http://www.cherylcole.com/gallery/images/call-my-name-video-1/
Calvin Harris tweeted about it today so he basically confirmed the song is produced by him !
I'm EXCITED !
And I really think it's unlikely that they're going to care much about who produces tracks - they rarely do. If anyone does, it'll be DS, and nobody cares for them!
I need a release date!!
its not a cavin harris produced track its by alex da kid
sorry i have not been online much. i hope its nothing like we found love because she was be slated if it is
Why aren't more people raving about 'Waiting', anymore? That is easily inside the "best of solo Cheryl" top 5 for me.
01. 'Fight For This Love'
02. 'Heaven' (The hate for this is disgusting!)
03. 'Waiting'
04. 'Stand Up'
05. 'Don't Talk About This Love'
'Better To Lie', 'Hummingbird', '3 Words' and 'The Flood' (in that order) are the only other tracks I still have time for. But 'Heaven' is incredible and I don't want to hear any other negative thing said about it .
'Stand Up' was truly the missed opportunity from the '3 Words' album. 'Parachute' is still as shit and as overrated as it was once the album was released. I don't get the fuss for 'Rain On Me' either. 'The Flood' does the whole "shout the chorus/the title of the track" so much better. But 'Waiting' is a genius sample!
EDIT: Oh and I've said it before, but I think Cheryl would suit a Calvin Harris produced dance/trance track. It'll smash.
I used to REALLY hate Heaven but it's grown on me a lot. I like it now.
To be fair to AV102, everything I've seen written about Call My Name says that Alex Da Kid is involved but Calvin tweeting about it obviously throws that into question.

@CherylCole
FRIDAY
Written and produced by Calvin Harris, as the official site states !
Amazing news ! We're only 40 hours away from the premiere !!
Apparently, someone posted on Popjustice that we are getting the video on Vevo on the 2nd of May !! Heee !
SO EXCITED! I'm glad that the rumour from a month or so ago about it premièring on the 20th is true! This is going to be epic!
Omfg can't wait I will have to wait longer than you lot though, school trip means O have to leave for school at 7am and won't get back til 5, hope it's worth the wait
Well most of us have school/work till like 4pm (at the earliest) anyway so you don't have to wait TOO much longer (actually it may just be me who is too lazy to go on the computer in the morning to hear the new Cheryl single). I am EXCITED although I do not like that promo image in Theo's sig AT ALL. The colours, agh. I hope she has good artwork this time round!
Released June 10th.
Don't really like the promo image, or the font from the e-mail I got. Still, looking forward to hearing this.
OMFG, please be amazing. She really needs to bring it this time. Album and singles.
01. Fight For This Love
02. Promise This
03. Parachute
04. The Flood
I didin't really like either of Cheryl's albums that much, but I did love FFTL & Promise This and thought both were fantastic. The only song I truly dislike is 3 Words which could have easily been one of my most hated songs of that year.
i hope this leaks i need to hear it now
Rather excited about this, it must be said!
I have high hopes...
Looking at these rates has made me realise just how poor her solo stuff has been. Come back Girls Aloud
I'm off for this premiere *sets alarm*
when is this happening on capital?
I start work at 8am damn it!
That's my morning with Bodg, Matt and Jojo confirmed then!
T-minus 8 hours!
Am so getting up for this. How sad. Better be amaze!
Noone else is here for the premiere ?
Well, as expected it is VERY 'We Found Love'.
Not sure if I'm too keen on the chorus at the moment but I always love Calvin Harris productions and I'm sure it'll grow.
And it's true, just 'Cheryl'!
Oh Cheryl !
I want to listen to it again, it's just so good and summery
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2MaemE-oks
Love it! Hopefully this is gonna be her best era!
Perfect. Never taking it off repeat
Decent on first listen, instantly catchy with typical Calvin Harris production which is on the verge of getting tired, but hasn't quite got to that point yet. Nice to have her back!
Was actually awake most of the night with excitement, It was life and perfect beginning to the new era! Literally have it on repeat!
Queen Cheryl
She's only going by Cheryl now? OOOOOOPS. Cher will be coming for her hurr and using it as a wig I reckon x
As for the song - freaking luhluhluhluhluhv Calvin Harris productions and this is no exception, but the vocals? LOL. A bit too layered up and bitty...
It has the potential to be just great though.
It's great, but I'm not changing the tag to Cheryl. It'll ruin my last.fm plays.
Ok so after a few plays I'm already hooked, haha.
I love the intro so damn much.
J'ADORE <3
Anyone gots a link? Needing this on my pod!
I managed to turn the radio on just as they were introducing it this morning, and unsurprisingly, I love it! The production is very good (it's obviously very Calvin Harris, but it's a lot better than his recent effort with Ne-Yo). I agree that the vocals sound a bit unhearable (if that's a word), but at the moment it has the potential to be Cheryl's best song for me yet! Artist with "My Name" in a song title always tend to have one of their finest moments with it
It's good, not anything great or special. She certainly has better songs than this. It's nothing new or interesting, as others have said it's very similar to 'We Found Love' and most others songs that have ripped that off. BUT, it probably will grow on me, as do all of her singles (except 'The Flood'), and when I hear it in a club I'll be LOVING it.
I'm pretty much with r Case on this one. When I first heard it I was a bit underwhelmed because it does sound very similar to a lot of other songs right now. It's also a bit repetitive and her voice sounds strained on it imo. A couple of listens later I do REALLY like it and I'm sure once I've learned to live with her (pretty terrible) voice on it, I will love it. In a club it'll be amayzing.
This is on repeat
Didn't think I'd like it from the first few seconds. Calvin Harris production is getting a bit tiresome, but damn this is catchy
Oh Buzzjack. Youi'd think this was the second coming based on some of those reactions.
The chorus is fine. The rest is a total nothing of a song. Too disjointed, too many moments where nothing is happening. The transitions from verse to chorus are truly pathetic. 6/10.
Underwhelmed. Although, like someone else said I had the same reaction to Fight For This Love and Promise This, so I'm not entirely ruling it out yet. It'll probably grow on me once I've seen the entire package.
I always try to remain neutral and disregard the name of the artist and think "would I like this if it were a new unknown artist?" and thus far the answer is nay.
I'm undecided on the song. I'm not loving it anywhere near as much as I should and it's all a bit Tulisa 'Young' if I'm honest. (Should be better than what we actually get) Hopefully it'll grow on me and I get used to it. It sounds far too "tinny" in the production and much like how I feel with 'Part Of Me' and 'California Gurls' etc... it just sounds like an unfinished demo.
Not bad, but I was hoping for better.
Say my name BABY awesome!!
Average at best tbh, the song just falls a bit flat. Unlike most people here i prefer Let's Go by some margin atm.
Its AMAZING!!!!
3rd solo number one here we come
If anyone wants to slip a radio rip under my door so to speak please do!
I've only heard it in poor LQ through my phone so far. I'll be honest, it didn't blow me away, but that may be down to quality than anything at the moment
I am LOVING this after just one listen! It's bound to sound a bit similar to 'We Found Love' because of the Calvin Harris production, but I love it.
And the growing has already sped up a lot
This isn't amazing but I never got the fuss over 'Fight For This Love' really, or 'Promise This', so in the long run I think this will be my favourite lead single from her.
It's alright. I've listened to it 4/5 times, and it's not clicked with me yet. I don't think this style of music really suits her, her voice isn't strong enough to pull it off, unlike Rihanna or Tulisa for example, and I'm not a fan of the production. It may grow on me over time, but at the moment I think it's pretty weak, her worst single to date, bar The Flood - obviously.
I found this more instant than FFTL and PT.
I really like it! I can only really fault it on the outro which is a bit BLAH but otherwise it's great. Isn't quite as good as Promise This on first listen but it's much better than FFTL.
Hopefully it will grow on me but so far Im really underwhelmed, her voice sounds so odd on the chorus.
Those vocals are embarrassing, as are the verses. Oh Calvin. Loved everything he did last year but this, Only the Horses, and the song with Ne-Yo... Yikes.
This sounds so samey to other things out there. Be original Cheryl!
this isn't bad, its just so blatantly ANOTHER attempt to recreate this pop/dance/Calvin Harris related club smash and its just getting really tiresome
I like this. Cheryl was supposed to be banging tracks like this all along not R&B/Pop pastiches.
The intro is VERY Jamie xx which makes me love it to the max, and it's just catchy Calvin Harris-We Found Love summery Dance-Pop. THANK YOU!
If Beyonce was releasing this everyone would be giving her hundreds of Grammys.
I don't really like it. Her voice is too quite in the song.
Predictably I love it! Doesn't feel that generic to me, I'm not saying it's anything revolutionary but it's more like Calvin's first two albums and not yet another We Found Love clone.
I am still not sure what to think of this. I really like the chorus and I do like a good Calvin Harris production, even if it is getting a bit old, but the verses are so bland and her vocals are almost unlistenable.
Not as instant for me as Fight for This Love and Promise This but it's good, should be a grower I reckon
It's not as instant as her first lead singles for me either. That said, I still love it! Very much looking forward to a KILLER video.
wasn't sure on first listen but after 3rd and 4th i love it
I think we can agree Fight For This Love and Promise This were better songs, but this one is more catchy than Promise This. And people who has heard some songs from the album say there are more superior songs than the single this time.
the vocals on this are not great
I actually quite like it, only the 5th song of hers I've enjoyed to date.
Much better than 'Promise This', that was a truly awful song.
That's all i have to say.
omg this song is just awful!
I love it!
So catchy and can hear it being played on the radio and in clubs a lot.
Very short video teaser:
gets sexier with every listen !
Doesn't tell you much about the video obvs but she looks amaze in that... half a second shot of her face.
From that little clip, HOT! Got a feeling this will definitely be her best yet. High budget hopefully.
I think this might be the first Cheryl single I've actually been excited about, I'm loving it so much. Typical that everyone else hates it or isn't fussed on it!
This is already #57 in the radio airplay chart, should they bring it forward or not?
http://ukac.co/uk/
longer video preview:
Oh MY HOLY GOD !!
That second teaser is beyond amazing ! And it's quoting the MARQUIS DE SADE !!!
Can't wait for wednesday's premiere !
Eugh. Stop trying to make "Cheryl" happen. It's NOT going to happen.
God that second preview is beyond weird. You can have too much emphasised walking and muffled sounds!
I love the Marquis de Sade reference.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYT6rbxNn30&feature=g-u-u
Video is amazing! Made me love the song even more!
Think its my face vid from any of the GA vids!
The girl can dance
I absolutely love it !
when the teasers are better than the actual video
I like the video. It's nothing outstanding or we haven't seen before, but it serves it's purpose well. Well I like the song a hell of a lot more after watching it
The video's alright. Nothing really happens but I'm glad Cheryl's busting a move because it's definitely a song that requires decent choreography. She looks stunning throughout and a bit like Eva Longoria at times.
I like a video that says in no uncertain terms 'this popstar is big'. If only Alexandra's team would take note. Song's a bit grower too (although it's no Let It Go).
Did someone recognize what tattoo she has on her thigh? You can see it 2.00-2.01 but i have no idea what is it:(
AMAZING
Easily the best song and video she has ever done. Let's hope this isn't just a fluke now.
Simply stunning.
She's looking more Mexican-American with each day.
Fantastic video! I daresay it's her best yet, but I'll give it a bit of time to sink in before going loon overboard. The song's massively growing on me as well, which is surprising for a song which I loved after the second listen! Great dancing from Cheryl and I love the cinematography of it, and how they kept the "remix" intro from the teaser, which I loved. My only negative would be the tacky font for the quote, and the scene of her in the car gives horrible flashbacks to the hideous "Wake Me Up" and "Something Kinda Ooooh" videos.
she looks so damn hot in the vid!
Really like the video and has made the song grown on me a lot more!
It's an impressive video. I like how confident Cheryl's team are with this release. That said, not much happens in the video which prevents it from being REALLY amazing but I like it very much in any case.
What I want to say has basically been said - very good video but it doesn't go anywhere and it's nothing revolutionary. However it does the job, really hope this is a hit as it's a fantastic song!
It's good! She has me on board for this single, at least.
This is the first Cheryl single that I actually really like. I think it sounds similar to We Found Love but where that failed to grab me this succeeds somehow.
Great single for her. I think this could definitely be a #1.
Suddenly became obsessed with this song, I really liked it but after seeing the video today I've played it numerous times and I now love it! Hope it does well!
Absolutely love the video, easily her best so far. Yes it lacks a storyline as such, but it is sexy as hell and looks expensive. There are the kind of video's she needs to make if she's really gonna try making it worldwide. Big step up in terms of quality. Only negative for me, her hair when it's died back in the scene in the mirror. Vile.
Gonna have huge first week sales, and be massive. The video really helps sell the song.
That video is awful. She looks like Melanie C in the dancing bits.
andd the Marquis De Sade reference, CRIIIINGE im sry but you're being tortured because a man is calling your name? liven up ho
The only good bit is the muffling at the start and the fierce walk-in. If she wasn't such a boring, boring singer and had more of an edge then maybe this would've worked. It's a shame because I really, really do like the song.
the song is actually good but her voice is so weak on the track its unreal
Sadly, I'm not feeling the song nor the video yet. But, I have no doubts it's gonna grow on me.
The video looks high budget, and I love how it begins but then ultimately... 90% of the video is her dancing (and not that well for quite a bit of it) in front of a car, so it doesn't really go anywhere. Slightly like the song. I really like the verses, which gear up to something really good - but then I find the chorus quite tinny and cheap/demo sounding in production, and her voice sounds really thin which I don't like.
However, as a generic dance-pop track, as I say, it will almost definitely start to grow on me when it's thrusted on me on every music channel for the next few months!
I wonder when we will have official artwork for this? I'm also wondering whether there will be a CD single this time. Her official newsletter makes no reference to single details at all actually. No digital pre-order as of yet either.
Ladies, can we cut the aggressive talk please - send it to PM (or not) and continue discussing the song in this thread if you wish
This has grown on me quite a bit recently, the bridge really reminds me of the bridge in Lisa Scott-Lee's Electric
After initially hating this, I've now fell in love with it, especially the "oh-oh-oh..." part towards the end.
Really becoming impatient for official artwork now.
I'm starting to come around a bit more now. Trying to restrict access to it until closer to release so I don't burn out!
There will be TWO new songs on the EP for "Call my name" : "Make you go" and "Telescope" ! That's great news !
You can pre-order on Itunes from now on : http://itunes.apple.com/gb/preorder/call-my-name-ep/id525864192
I really hope the cover on iTunes is just a promo cover...
Looking forward to hearing two new songs, though!
The intro to the video would make a rather good tour opening
Radio 1 C-list four weeks to release Hoping this is a huge #1!
I really hope this isn't going to be a 'Promise This' style #1 (if it even gets there.) It'd be good if she could have actual hits like she did in the first era. No JLS/McFly style chart runs please.
Well everything about this release is pushing me to believe it will be frontloaded as hell but we'll see. It's not like Promise This had THAT bad a chart run, I wouldn't call it a non-#1 anyway, but I would like this to stick around more than that did.
'The Flood' ended up spending as long in the Top 200 as 'Promise This'! Both 18 weeks each. 18 weeks is rather on the low side for a #1, but I suppose you can't sniff at 400k+ sales.

Performing on The Graham Norton Show on 8th June. I assume being a name as big as hers, she'll be talking as well.
ARGH WHY SO DAMN CATCHY
We're forgetting that 'Promise This' was rather SHIT. This however is not.
Promise This was not shit!
'Telescope' and 'Make You Go' have both leaked.
'Make You Go' is centred around a Major Lazer/Santigold sample - pleasant surprise!
Love the instrumental of 'Telescope', not completely sold on the song as a whole though.
"Telescope" is the better out the two.
I actually love both of them on first listen, not often that I instantly love a Cheryl song, most of them are growers. If these are just b-sides then hopefully the album will be great!
Performing on 'The Voice' on Sunday 27th May!
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s154/the-voice-uk/news/a382482/cheryl-cole-kylie-minogue-confirmed-for-voice-uk-semi-final.html
A week too soon Should bring the download forward a week for it.
Listening to Telescope now. Instant for me! Telescope > The Flood
Make You Go, Telescope, and Call My Name are all on Deezer now for Orange peeps!
"Make you go" is my jam of the week ! I wan't feeling it that much on first listen, but I bloody love it now !
"Telescope" is cute. Cute and depressing ! And damn to short. I won't listen to it on repeat...
Rose-tinted glasses, maybe, but that performance was just fantastic! Her dancing has improved a LOT since "Fight for This Love". I can't tell if she mimed, but from the "oh oh oh" bit, I think she was singing live (and quite good too). Are they bringing the release forward though? It's a bit odd to have the biggest performance before the song is even out.
Theo. Please tell me you're kidding. It was mimed (and not very convincingly) to a pre-recorded vocal. As somebody who must have watched hundreds of popstar performances you should be able to recognise a lip sync/pre-record! It was a good performance in terms of energy I guess. That's about as much as I can say about it.
I like the song but was so disapointed she mimed after the whole she is singing live announcement.
It wasn't 100% live, it wasn't 100% mimed. But it was great performance
Yes it was. Hence why she didn't use the mic she was holding in her hands to speak to Holly after. Wasn't switched on!
That swan dive > everything else
I missed that as I was out of the room at the time (shock-horror!), but it really was hilarious:
And Jark, artists' microphones are always turned off as soon as they've finished performing on live TV to avoid them forgetting as broadcasting something from backstage... Surely somebody who's watched as many talent shows as you have knows that?
It was no way live, even she mimed badly so i dont how anyone can even think she sang live, its a good song but her team screwed her by making a deal of her singing live when clearly she wasnt.
The song is rocketting up the radio airplay chart, up to #12 this week (+24), and still sitting at #6 on TV airplay !
If only they released it last night
This might be my fav performance of Cheryl so far ! SO MUCH energy put into it, even the dancers looked over the moon and enjoying themselves ! And I don't care if the vocals were pre-recorded, surely by album #3 people should get on with it.
I'm totally LOVING this era so far !
SO BORED OF PEOPLE DISCUSSING WHETHER SHE SINGS LIVE OR NOT, who cares!? performance is amazing, get overr it!
Performing on a show called the VOICE is why people cared she mimed and to be honest i do like her song but it was an absolute joke to mime on such a show.
Yes, that is what i am annoyed with is that her people/management made a big thing about her singing live, and Cheryl Cole would be the first in line to say something if another artist did the same thing. I understand people appreciate different performaces and everyone has different taste, but would you be honestly happy going a Cheryl Cole concert and pay a fairly big amount of money to see her mime?
I am a pretty big Cheryl critic (although I do love her) and I thought her performance was bloody good. The swan dive entrance, the dancing, the song sounded great (mimed or not) - I just thought it all screamed 'superstar comeback'. Of course live vocals are always an issue with Cheryl, but I'm happy with that performance. It seems pretty well-received so I don't understand why they didn't make it available immediately.
it was a silly move not making available after the show and could cost her sales.
It is one of her strongest singles and extremely catchy which makes it stranger they have in a way messed the release up a bit.
I guess their label is always scared that Cheryl could "flop" with a lead single, so they do everything they can to make sure she charts as high as possible (no matter how many weeks of sales they lose). This and they want the single released as close to the album as possible to maximise the hype around it.
But "Call my name" seems to do brillantly, a lot better than "Promise this", so they could have "risked" an earlier release.
Her performance on The Graham Norton Show is also pre-release... They really should release it this Sunday if they don't want it to lose any more sales
I guess they care more about the #1 than anything else? But I don't get why they just didn't start this release 2 weeks earlier so it got all the build up and the promo at the same time.
I'm worried now, I guess we'll know by the end of Sunday whether it'll do it depending how quick it climbs up the iTunes chart from midnight onwards.
It seems like the most obvious #1 of the year to me...
(Aside from the inevitability of Carly Rae Jepsen getting there).
So Flo Rida has been released earlier.I hope it doesn't get too big
Still no word on a physical release?
Well, at least he's been released now rather than Sunday, eh?
Yes!! I love her.
Fake version of 'Call My Name' at #99!
It's a very good sign because very few British artists manage to have fake versions bought. Cheryl's officially on an international league now!
Call my name was heavily used on Big Brother last night, terrible decision not have released call my name this week or last.
The Graham Norton Show performance:
I prefer her performance from The Voice UK, but that's mainly due to the limited performance space there. Still very decent, and should help towards big first week sales/numero uno this week! The interview was great, too! I knew her and Katy Perry would just bounce off each other, and I liked their combined chemistry with Ross Noble too. The red chair was also a highlight, with them both pulling the lever back together
Cheryl and Katy were amazing together, you can tell they genuinely like each other. Collaboration please.
I missed it Ah well. I've only seen good reviews so I can't wait to watch the interview!
The performance on the GN show was hot and... with live vocals ! I'm rather impressed !
Really enjoyed her performance on GN actually. It was pretty good. I love the choreography to this song though. It's immense.
Do you honestly believe that?
Where is she on airplay atm? This is deffo going to #1 for sure anyway!
I don't need much more proof to believe it.
Some people will obviously say she spent a day in the studio to record a "live" version of the song and then perfectly mime to it to make it look real, but meh, it sounds and looks like a proper live performance, so I'll take it !
Hearing what you what to hear then. Look no offence but you only need to employ basic logic to see that she lipped to a pre recorded 'breathless' backing track. She could barely sing live and in tune whilst standing still at the Jubilee concert - how the hell is she going to give such a flawless live vocal AND do that crazy dance routine?
She performed at Capital FM's Summertime Ball today, and all I can say is oh dear at her outfit choice:
And she was looking so good this era too! There aren't any videos up yet as far as I know...
EDIT: Okay, I can forgive her after seeing this new photoshoot picture:
SO HOT!
I need to see a video of this performance !
This outfit is so Jessie J
# 2 on i tunes, but flo rida still has a huge lead.
Shes #1
Last time she was no.1 around 3 pm, so I think she has 100% chance to be no. 1 this week, 99.99% to have best selling single this year, and 99% to sell more than promise this.
Well, all our worrying wasn't necessary then 3 #1s unless something disastrous happens. Almost as many as GA now!
Already sold 50,000 copies! Wow.
its 70,000 copies now apparently..
Where is this sales info coming from? Amazing!
Downloaded, and retagged as Cheryl Cole so she can break my top 8 artists on last.fm!
How it stands at the moment:
1 :: Girls Aloud - 21,180 plays
2 :: Avril Lavigne - 2,785 plays
3 :: The Saturdays - 2,377 plays

Cheryl's episode of The Graham Norton Show hit a series high of 4.2m! Brilliant that so many people saw it - it's genuinely one of my favourite Cheryl interviews/moments ever
Also, Cheryl and Nadine have reportedly been on a night out together following her performance at the Summertime Ball *.* Amazing!
confirmed sales of 80k in todays midweeks!
Great start for the sales for her, it will be a close call between Cheryl and Gary for biggest weekly sales.
Sales until last night are 97,000... A bit of a small increase if they were on 80k on Tuesday, but I think that was probably wrong.
She has around 60k on Sunday (thx to pre-orders) so 17k is quite good result. She has 97k comparing to 93k Promise this after Tuesday.
I liked her at the Capital FM Summertime Ball, think it may be my favourite CMN performance.
I am so glad Cheryl is going to have her 3rd #1 with this song! I listen to it all the time and it never gets old!
Fastest-selling single of the year with 152,000 copies sold! That's even beaten Gary Barlow to become the biggest 1-week sales of the year, too!
I expected that she will sell more copies than promise this, but still it's a great result
Perhaps if there had been a CD single... *bitter* lol
Exact sales are 152,001 Winning margin was 64,682
CELEBRATION TIME !!
So so so happy for her ! Third number 1 lead single in a row !
She's been number 1 with seven singles now since 2002 (8 if we count the Help for Haïti song), she must be well happy !
Beating 'Promise this' would have been sweet but hey oh, what an achievement still !

198. (RE) Call My Name
Oh I'd have hoped for slightly higher, seeing as almost every #1 of 2012 re-entered the top 100 this week

191. (198) Call My Name
A place higher than 'Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me'.
I never knew that before I have to say, I never took much notice.
He wrote an absolute banger with Call my name! I think it's her best song.
I know I'm probably the only one who thinks that I don't care is far better than call my name
I Don't Care sounds like they just picked a few words that rhyme and don't really make sense.
What I'm surprised about is that he didn't really want to work with Cheryl. Polydor wouldn't have let Florence record for Clavin if he hadn't given Call My Name to Cheryl.
I definitely knew that it's Calvin written / produced!
I'm kind of surprised they didn't go with a "Cheryl feat. Calvin Harris" artist tag for the single, but maybe neither party wanted that.
Calvin usually likes a credit so it's odd he dudnt on this one, cheryl was a big name then as was he so putting both names to it would have been beneficial.
It's interesting that he is kind of suggesting he didn't want to work with Cheryl here, and the lack of featuring his name on it also suggests that when he is keen to spread his name on everything generally. It's surprising because Cheryl was still very much at the top of her game leading up to this release.
It may have been how heavy she was involved with X Factor and he didn't want the association.
