Afternoon all hi.gif here for the chart live for the first time in forever due to the bank holiday *.*

These would be my top 3s of the retro charts:

2018
01. Drake - Nice For What
02. George Ezra - Paradise
03. Calvin Harris - One Kiss (feat. Dua Lipa)

Wow a whole year since 'One Kiss' was dominating already! Gives me huge dissertation flashbacks laugh.gif but also heatwave flashbacks.

2014
01. Shift K3y - Touch
02. Tove Lo & Hippie Sabotage - Stay High (Habits Remix)
03. Sigma - Nobody To Love

Wow the standard of chart music was very high 5 years ago, I could've easily picked more highlights. This dance revival was everything!

2009
01. Calvin Harris - I'm Not Alone
02. A.R. Rahman - Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny) (feat. The Pussycat Dolls)
03. Lady Gaga - Poker Face

Shoutout to The Noisettes and Metro Station too! 'I'm Not Alone' getting a wonderful make-over 10 years later with the CamelPhat remix.

2004
01. Anastacia - Left Outside Alone
02. The Rasmus - In The Shadows
03. McFly - Five Colours In Her Hair

Buzzjack having an AF for The Rasmus back in the day though *.*

1999
01. Mr. Oizo - Flat Beat
02. Eminem - My Name Is
03. TLC - No Scrubs

that is all.

Ellie Goulding
Sixteen

Released: 12th April 2019
Label: Polydor Records

Biography

Elena Jane Goulding (/ˈɡoʊldɪŋ/ GOHL-ding; born 30 December 1986) is an English singer and songwriter. Her career began when she met record producers Starsmith and Frankmusik, and she was later spotted by Jamie Lillywhite, who later became her manager and A&R. After signing to Polydor Records in July 2009, Goulding released her debut extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding later that year.

In 2010, she became the second artist to top the BBC's annual Sound of... poll and win the Critics' Choice Award at the Brit Awards in the same year. She released her debut studio album, Lights, in 2010; it debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and has sold over 850,000 copies in the United Kingdom. In November 2010, the album was reissued as Bright Lights, which spawned two singles: a cover of Elton John's "Your Song" which was selected for the first John Lewis Christmas advert, reached number two on the UK Singles Chart, and "Lights", which became Goulding's highest-charting single on the US Billboard Hot 100 to date, peaking at number two.

Goulding's second studio album, Halcyon, was released in October 2012. "Anything Could Happen" preceded the album as the lead single. The album debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, and after 65 weeks, it reached number one. Halcyon debuted at number nine on the US Billboard 200. Halcyon Days, a repackaged edition of Halcyon, was released in August 2013, generating singles, such as "Burn", which became her first number-one single in the UK. At the 2014 Brit Awards, she received the award for British Female Solo Artist. Goulding released her third studio album, titled Delirium, on 6 November 2015, with "On My Mind" as the album's lead single. In December 2015, she received her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance for her single "Love Me like You Do".

Geko x French Montana x Ay Em
New Money

Non-album single
Released: 12th April 2019
Label: 3 Beat Productions

Biography

Geko
In a world full of comparisons, good luck drawing one to 21-year young Geko. His Arabic melodies with both an English and African twist have found him his own niche - Arabic swing; complete with its stirrings of afro wave and UK rap, it’s a sound he’s been elevating to new heights over the past few years. Born in Manchester, it was in his ancestral climes of Algeria that Geko found his spiritual home. His North African heritage is central to his sound. And while the landscape for generation Z has steadily bleakened, Geko aims to restore some Mancunian charged uplift when he touches the mic. While his life too features loss, challenges and daily battles, it’s choosing to focus on a vibe that allows him to perform with a smile on his face that drives Geko, music his true therapy with his home studio ready to bear witness 24-7. Now a decade deep in the industry, with mixing and mastering skills added to his repertoire, spreading his sound to a growing international audience is high on Geko’s agenda as he looks to the future.

“Anyone who’s seen a video, or a stage show will know that’s me when I’m most alive. When I’m performing, it’s like there’s a mirror in front of me and that’s all I see. And I never remember what’s happened in those moments, I’m so fully in it. I want everyone to release, have a good time with my music not get depressed.”
- Spotify

French Montana
A rapper who built an indie empire with his Cocaine City imprint, French Montana was born Karim Kharbouch in Morocco but immigrated to the U.S. while in his teens. He set up shop in the Bronx and began releasing his Cocaine City series of DVDs in 2002, mixing interviews with established hip-hop artists and unsigned talent. Around 2009 he began releasing his own mixtape CDs with DJs like DJ Drama, Evil Empire, and Big Mike as his hosts. That same year he would be signed to Akon's Konvict Musik label, but in late 2011 it was announced that they had parted ways and that French was signing to both P. Diddy's Bad Boy and Rick Ross' Maybach Music imprints in a unique joint venture. His 2012 single, "Pop That," would be the first release for the united labels, while 2013 saw the release of his debut album, Excuse My French. A series of mixtapes, each with an increasing R&B influence, brought Montana to 2016, when he dropped Casino Life 2: Brown Bag Legend. The mixtape included the hit single "Moses" featuring Chris Brown and Migos. A full LP -- MC4 -- was slated for the end of the year, but after the album was leaked by a retailer months before its official release, Montana scrapped the rollout entirely and issued it as a mixtape. MC4 (aka "Mac & Cheese 4") featured appearances by the Weeknd, Drake, Jeezy, A$AP Rocky, Kodak Black, Miguel, Nas, Kanye West, DJ Khaled, Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss, Styles P, the Alchemist, Max B, and Chinx. The following year, Montana returned with his official sophomore effort, Jungle Rules. The LP included guests like the Weeknd, Travis Scott, Pharrell Williams, Quavo, Future, T.I., and Young Thug. Lead single "Unforgettable" with Swae Lee became a hit, topping the Billboard rap chart and climbing into the Top Three of the R&B and main singles list. In 2018, Montana joined with Diplo, Lil Pump, and Zhavia Ward for the bombastic single "Welcome to the Party" from the Deadpool 2 soundtrack. - iTunes

Ay Em
Ay Em is a rapper and hip-hop artist from West London, U.K. He made his debut in March 2018 with "Snowflake," a hazy, trap-style cut that demonstrated his melodic vocal style. He returned the following month with the tropical, house-influenced single "Come to Me" -- a collaborative track with fellow London-based rapper Afro B that also featured the Manchester-based Geko. In May 2018, he appeared on the single "Oh My" by Dappy. - AllMusic

I can't believe French Montana has stuck his neck into the realm of GRM Daily randomers. Not heard that song yet but I don't particularly care for the other Geko songs I've heard so not particularly anticipating it x

Thank ABBA For The Music was finally added to Spotify/iTunes/Apple Music today, 20 years after release *.*

Huge sales for D12 and Eamon in 2004, the former was unlucky to release against such a juggernaut and end up at No.2.

2014 was such a massive time for dance music!

Excited to see where Avicii ends up tonight. I suspect he'll be just outside the top 10 thanks to BTS' video streams giving them a last minute boost but the song's holding up well on Spotify so it always has next week.

Russ & Tion Wayne's big video streams to somehow boost them into the top 5 would be great too. 'Gun Lean' was better but the new one's rather catchy too.

Hopefully Lewis Capaldi doesn't upset at the last minute, it really is about time he got kicked off #1. Lil Nas should easily do it judging by the mids anyhow.

Shame Ellie couldn't make top 40 first week, it's her best song in a while. Hopefully it can be as big as 'Close To Me' at least in the long term.
