It's 50 years since the Electric Light Orchestra were formed by Jeff Lynne,Roy Wood and Bev Bevan who wanted to take their group The Move in a different direction. So what better time than to do a quickie rate for my favourite band, now known as Jeff Lynne's ELO. Please pick your favourite five songs and put them in order from 1st to 5th. The Points go: 1. (Your fave track) 10 points 2. (Your 2nd fave) 7 points 3. 4 points 4. 2 points 5. 1 point Here is their discography as a reminder: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_Ligh...tra_discography You have about a week to vote. Thanks. |

1. Yours Truly, 2095
2. Turn To Stone 3. Confusion 4. All Over The World 5. Don't Bring Me Down Used to like Shine A Little Love (and the Lovefreekz version) but it was overplayed on Britain's Got Talent and I went off it a bit. |

One of my all-time fave acts, ELO have topped my charts 13 times, and come close at least another 15 times, so it's quite difficult limiting myself to 5!
1. Living Thing 2. Showdown 3. 10538 Overture 4. Evil Woman 5. Confusion |

Like PCF, one of my fave chart acts and what a successful one too. 1976-79 hardly ever out of the charts.
1.The Diary Of Horace Wimp 2. Mr. Blue Sky 3. Shine A Little Love 4. Confusion 5. Sweet Talking Woman Honorary mention to Xanadu, their only No.1 with Olivia Newton John in 1980. This post has been edited by Crazy Chris: Aug 18 2020, 07:11 AM |

I’m not sure I know five ELO tracks I'd be aghast if you had never heard Mr Blue Sky, Living Thing, Xanadu, Don't Bring Me Down & Roll Over Beethoven I mean I know ELO weren't in vogue in the 90's and much of the noughties, but it's been hard NOT to hear those in adverts, films, on the radio ELO tracks that might appeal to dandy: probably the more unusual tracks: 10538 Overture, The Diary Of Horace Wimp, Can't Get It Out Of My Head, Confusion. Or you might hate them right off the bat |

Rollo, could I do a top one? |

01 Mr Blue Sky
02 Don't Bring Me Down 03 Can't Get It Out Of My Head 04 Livin' Thing 05 10538 Overture There you go, a top 5 at a push! Only really cared for the top 3 tbh but I recognise Livin' Thing from the Beautiful South cover and 10538 Overture was quite an interesting structure. |
