JADE THIRLWALL
NO. DON'T PANIC. They've not split! This is just an appreciation thread of sorts for a member of Little Mix. All 4 girls will have one.
So go ahead, post anything you like about JADE (i.e. the best member) in this thread and start discussing what you like or even don't like (I know, but some people don't apparently!!!)
The way she owns the stage in the performances, looking flawless whilst doing so and also the fact she can hold a note or two in tune is also amazing. She's also my favourite in looks and personality. She's just so grounded and "normal" (although they ALL are!).
She reminds me of Tinashe looks wise actually!

I'm OBSESSED with Jade. Definitely my favourite pop girl, overtaking Britney and Cheryl.
She's just perfect tbh. Brilliant singer, dancer and she basically OWNS that stage. She's so adorable, down to earth, stunning looks and that accent is just too much for me to handle.
I love her and I want to marry her.

Not sure where to post this but the group's received quite a bit of tabloid press for their clapping back at some Twitter trolls claiming they aren't involved in their music

I was completely siding with Jade until she decided to be immature and use the word assholes and attempt sass. It's hardly mature language (nor am I saying the behaviour towards them was mature to begin with) but just leave it at the take the uneducated opinions elsewhere instead of creating a scene. Just goes to show why shes my least favourite

People really do need to get their heads out of their arses nowadays and stop being so snobbish and actually get educated before spoting rubbish like that. Manufactured pop is completely different to how it used to be. More and more manufactured artists are writing their own songs. The girls have always wanted some part of that and I think and believe that's why they're still as successful as they are.
On Jade's side completely with this even with the ending. It's getting annoying how ignorant people are being just because they came from the XF. If it was a member of 1D or Justin Bieber I'd back them up too, so it's not just coz this involves the girls.

She's not on next week's episode, so it's either the week after or (more likely) the final episode!
Out of that line-up I hope she's on the same episode as Nadine, KSI & Katherine Ryan/Stacey Dooley (any one of them 2 - I doubt they'll do an all female episode so one of them has to make way for KSI </3)
My ideal line-up would have been Jade, Nadine, James & Alexandra!

Jade was shooting a solo campaign for a clothing brand that she's becoming an ambassador for. Yet to be announced, but my friend worked on it on Friday and said she was a delight.

I think all four of them could certainly have a few hits solo, none of them stand out as more of a solo performer over the others.

there was a point when Perrie deffo stood out (certainly vocally), so I was really confused when Jesy started getting more prominant focus and then her documentary... let's just say, I wasn't shocked that less than a year after her documentary... she'd left the band.

I'm going to sound really old and grumpy here but watching Jade's interviews on Capital and Heart have made me realise how...desperate and annoying they are to be attached to the girls and use them for content. The Heart presenters literally giving Jade babygrows with Heart FM on them and badgering her to open it and 'say what it is' about 3 times and then Capital making her a Lady....bleurgh. Just all so fake and kiss ass.

i feel like radio presenting in the UK is a bit of a dying format so they have to work harder to keep celebrities and guests friendly and what better way of getting engagement than befriending one of the biggest UK pop acts?
but tbh i agree with you i hate how overly cheesy it is - remember the "wig" thing? i honestly unstanned for that day.

I guess it helps both parties not just the actual radio station.

it works that way throughout... if youre a small blogger, PR companies will pimp out their less successful artists to you in order for you to gain access to their bigger artists.

Jesy, like Zayn, will do well with her initial era because she's the first solo one and the release will generate a lot of press. But like Zayn I expect the novelty will wear off.
I can imagine Perrie doing a few features here and there but honestly I think they will all be content doing other things. Jade will write and produce and develop new artists. Leigh already has fashion and acting.
If they had ended after Glory Days then I think all of them could have had at least one successful album but now I think they will all just dip their toes into other things and pop in and out of the band. I imagine them being like Take That and it never fully flat out ending.

I can see Jesy having a minor hit (perhaps!) still convinced she’ll flop.
I can’t see Jade, Perrie or Leigh having success on there own purely because fans massively support them as a group, would anyone care for a whole Perrie album? Probably not even if she manages a moderate hit single.
I really hope LM always continues whilst there is still demand, If they move onto solo things they’ll be even less pressure to have big hit singles as long as they can sell tours and albums (Which they definitely can in large numbers at the moment)

yes, she has one of the best voices in pop music - i would absolutely be interested in a solo album from all 3 (4?) i wanna see what they would do.
Jade will definitely have a career - even if she doesn't get massive commercial success she knows how to craft a very good pop song and writes for others, I can def see her becoming an underground artist who is highly regarded like Charli, Rina etc
Leigh is a bit harder, she'll probably write for others but I genuinely don't know if she'll go into music - she seems to enjoy acting and activism - but I would love an album from her, she's also widely liked.

I definitely would want a solo album from Perrie (and from Jade & Leigh of course)! I see her doing an album with a mix of DJ collabs/ballads/maybe some pop rock because I know she was a fan. Then see her judging on a show like The Voice and/or being a presenter like Rochelle & Mollie. Could also see her saying eff everything & going off the grid until it's time for Little Mix stuff & just focusing on whatever Disora is, but I tend to think we'll see her try something solo for a bit.
Agree with jsweetxe regarding Jade. Definitely see Jade continuing to write for artists, & then going down the Rina route. Also think we'll continue to see her as a panelist on shows.
Leigh, I can see becoming a mogul with more fashion lines, more movies, maybe a critically acclaimed tv show & at least one album (the way she spoke in one of her interviews about wanting to release solo music speaking to her experiences makes me think we'll get an album).
Jesy's first single will do well initially. Don't know what will happen after that.
I do see them being the female version of Take That & coming back together for an album/tour every 3/4 years & them never really ending.

Yeah I don't see any of them having big solo careers... when you compare to 1D, Harry was always going to be successful because there was a focus on him whereas with the girls, they just don't have that.
I could see Jade going down that "indie-pop" route, so not chart successful but certainly a loyal fan base and a lot of Pride circuits.
Jesy, as others have stated, will be a one-hit, maybe one album success. I really do see her seeing a similar trajectory to Liam and having the one hit and struggling there after.

If they had ended with either Get Weird / Glory Days I feel like Perrie could've been a successful solo artist because there was a genuine focus on her at the time with the messy Zayn drama and everything around it (plus there were rumours that the record label was grooming her to go solo). Clearly, she decided to commit to the group and now it feels like all of them might have a hit here and there solo, but nothing really major or long-lasting to be honest. I think they gave that up when they went into committing to the group long-term.

Becky Hill and, in particular, RAYE are also very talented. Jade has the advantage of already having an established fanbase but she must know how to play her cards right sound wise.

Jade has stage presence, amazing vocals and is a great dancer.
The other girls mentioned are talented but Jade is the full package and oozes star quality.

Trash inheritely isn't a good song, but Little Mix made it work, if you listen to the original demo, it's awful and has no appeal.
Mabel, Becky, and yes, to an extent Raye, aren't cemented personalities, as talented as they are their music comes across faceless, they haven't established a lot. Becky can SING but everything else is quite boring, Raye can write really well and sing decent too, but she's not a performer or a "personality", Mabel is still quite.. average in all areas.
Jade (and the other girls) have cemented all aspects, so yes, they are in completely different leagues, but then again, their backgrounds are different, but Little Mix using a Mabel demo (and making it 10x better) isn't a drag.
Is there any new/rumor/update about her solo music? Literally I can’t wait for her to realise something. She always been my favourite and agree that for me she is the most complete of the girls, also I think she is really smart and has really clear what her fanbase is, so I’m expecting a pop banger ala Touch or Sweet Melodies. She was behind Wasabi, probably my fave song, snd a lot of good songs of the group so I believe that she has an incredible potential as a solo artist. I’m sure she will give to gays what we want

she might have all those things... but she's not got an identifiable quality about her that distinguishes her from others. Shes going to always be known as Jade from Little Mix. It might come down to gender because the likes of Harry Styles was always so distinguished in 1D, but arguably Beyonce was always highlighted in DC, so them having huge solo success is not a surprise. Hyped to hear what she will bring. I'm almost positive it's gonna be great!
I like all three girls but I can't see major success for any of them.
They're talented, likeable and will probably get a hit single each at least but not even One Direction's solo careers have been that big and they had a massive fanbase of rapid, obsessed teenage girls buying everything they do.
I feel like they'll soon be reminded that being in Little Mix will bring them more success and money than anything they do individually and once the novelty of a solo campaign wears off they'll be back in about six years.
(Obviously I'd love them to be massive and I'm dying to hear an album from Jade and Perrie in particular but there's just always something a bit 'off' when group members go solo. I think it's because there's thousands of solo artists out there and very few groups and nothing can really replace group choreography, harmonies and the visuals/dynamic of a band. I'd hate for these girls to just be yet another generic pop female being spammed on Spotify playlists and desperately fighting to get Ed Sheeran on their singles for a hit, you know?)

the difference between little mix and 1d is that harry was already established as a solo act when he was in the group... niall's success is a surprise but realistically he's not even really had a solo hit? The difference here with Little Mix is there's never been one striking stand-out member - maybe Perrie during 'Glory Days' and Jesy during her documentary... i do hope to be proved wrong and i imagine capitol will get behind Jade quite extensivly.

I strongly dislike the narrative of existing popularity will be determinent of success. As if that's not every artist at first. That will be positive fresh slate and having existing fanbase, industry experience and the like simultanesously.
And any perception of will always be seen as missing something for the missing harmonies, but thats solely in view of existing fans who expect group formula in solo settings. We have nothing to base anticipated success off of.

Jade - Mel C. She will have the longest career in music regardless of how many sales are involved. Music is her blood.
Jesy - Geri. First to go. Tabloid fodder. Initial buzz but sadly easily turned against.
Perrie - Emma. Some success button long term will end up in the presenting world with all the other super lovely blondes.
Leigh - Posh. the dark horse that was often under the radar in the band..had her fingers in many pies. Mostly likely for global reach.

it's a tricky one because realistically there is such an expectation for new music to do well and it would make more sense for her to release music immeditately for the hype HOWEVER she has worked non stop for ten years and even though the tour wasn't that high performativity, i imagine it's still quite mentally and exhausting work, so i imagine she'll want to take the rest of the year off ready to launch in the new year... which makes total sense.
