'U Can't Touch This' was only MC Hammer's 5th highest charting song in the US, fun fact.

Rogue Traders obviously got to #3 with Voodoo Child but how many of you remember Watching You going to #33 straight after it

Technotronic had 6 Top 40 singles (7 if you count the Megamix) but Pump Up The Jam just overshadows everything else.

There's lots of dance acts that would fit this from the 90s. I'm thinking the likes of Urban Cookie Collective, Rednex, Haddaway, Corona, Ultra Nate, Real Mccoy, Corona etc

Haddaway isn’t a one hit wonder. He had 4 top 10 hits!

That’s the whole point of this thread. What Is Love is the most known/recognised/well loved even so much so it feels like a one hit wonder. I couldn’t name any other singles without looking them up.

I suppose Meghan Trainor to an extent. I mean she's had some success with other songs such as 'No', but will be remembered for 'All About That Bass'

I'd say 'Baby Baby' (Corona) is surely hugely well-known? The rest I can agree on.

'Baby Baby' is my personal favourite out of her songs but I doubt most of the general public would remember anything other than 'The Rhythm Of The Night'.

Their album and all the Australian singles were FANTASTIC, they deserved so much more in the UK. cry.gif

Someone clearly didn't read the opening post, and therefore missed the point of the entire thread. rolleyes.gif

Dead Or Alive had seven top 40 hits (not counting re-releases) but good luck trying to find someone (outside the chart history fandom) who can name another song of theirs besides You Spin Me Round.

Yes I bought her first album but that's the only song I really know by her.

We've even already forgot that she had a second Number One with "Marvin Gaye".

Some of the examples in this thread are quite tenuous but Dead Or Alive is the perfect example - I couldn't name another one of their seven Top 40 hits!

Until Pete Burns's death, I couldn't do it either but then I searched for more DoA songs and now Something In My House is my personal fave of theirs.

In the US, probably most people would still say Bawitdba or Cowboy, but in the UK, most people would definitely say All Summer Long.

i’m sure there’s quite a lot of dance examples but one of the most baffling in retrospect is that Alice Deejay somehow managed five top 20 hits.

quite a few around the turn of the millennium:

Darude, ATB, DJ Quicksilver, Sonique, The Tamperer, Phats and Small and So Solid Crew come to mind.

Another song of theirs that was well recognised - but didn't chart/get released here - was 'Fashion', which subsequently went onto be the theme tune for Gok Wan's show he did on Channel 4 called 'Gok's Fashion Fix'.
