QUOTE Will you be releasing another album before the end of the year? Vanessa: "Yes, we've already started writing for the second album." Mollie: "Actually, we've recorded one or two tracks for it already. Well, we've demoed them anyway." Una: "We've blocked time aside for the new album in the near future and we're really looking forward to getting on with it." Is it too early to say what sort of direction the album's going in? Rochelle: "It's still us, but I'm guessing it's going to be a bit more personal." Una: "Slightly more mature-sounding I suppose, but we really know what our sound is now." Frankie: "We're planning to write quite a lot of songs for the album, but we won't be turning down good songs just because we didn't write them. We want the album to be the best it can." It's also been reported that you're hoping to crack America. Is there any truth to these rumours? Una: "Yes! We're planning to go over to America at some point this year and maybe do a couple of weeks out there." Mollie: "Some of our songs have already been played on the radio over there, but we haven't been over yet. You know, we really want to focus on the UK at the moment. We're not a household name or anything so we don't want to jet off before we've even established ourselves here. This is our home and we love it here." Though id give this a thread of it's own since i not only what to keep it away from the Just Cant get Enough discussion but it's generally exiting news. Anything about a second album can go in here from now on aswell. |

The girls are really busy this year then, because they are releasing one more single from the first album as well.

Yeap, especially if they go ahead with the 4th single from Chasing Lights. It does seem they're doing a Rihanna and not taking any break between albums.

Yes, but Girls Aloud do tend to take something around something like 6 months between era's. If the next Chasing Lights single is relesead in say June or late May at the earliest. Oooh, i've made a mistake havent I since they could release the second albums first single as late as Nov/Dec couldnt they. Everyone should just ignore whatever i say from now on i think, for the best.

The second album is well into production now!
The girls are twittering every other day about writing and recording for the album and Mr Popjustice has placed them at 4 on his chart stating that the album seems very promising! |

Can't wait for the second album.
I hope it can be better than their first decent offering. |

I hope they can create an album as good as Chasing Lights. One of my favourite albums of 2008. Whatever their 1st single is, it needs to be more Up than If This Is Love.

With Work being pushed back i suppose album #2 has aswell unless they're planning to not take any sort of break at all.

It looks like it will be release late october/early november. about 4 months after Work, maybe they are using Work as a bridge between both albums.

i think theyr doing the right thing! the temp GA split and the fact there is no GA album this year, will leave a big gap in the xmas market, which can ensure higher sales for #2 than Chasing Lights (even though i think CL is the best pop album since TSOGA!!!)
Work will break the top ten, but unless it really is pushed, i doubt it will peak higher than JCGE, however, i do believe - provided they have the right track as a lead for #2 then they should have their first number one before the years out JAN: ISSUES - #4 MAR: JUST CANT GET ENOUGH - #2 JUNE: WORK - #5 OCT: LEAD OF #2 - #1 JAN: 2ND SINGLE FROM #2 - TOP 3 |
