QUOTE
Created by Homeland and 24 writer, Patrick Harbinson, and starring acclaimed actress Helen McCrory (Peaky Blinders, Penny Dreadful), Fearless follows Emma Banville, a human rights lawyer known for defending lost causes, as she sets out to prove the innocence of Kevin Russell, who was convicted for the murder of a schoolgirl, Linda Simms, 14 years earlier. A crime which Kevin maintains he didn’t commit.

Firmly believing there has been a miscarriage of justice, Emma is determined to reveal the truth behind Linda’s death and is prepared to go to extreme lengths to discover what happened and free Kevin. However, as Emma digs deeper into the case, risking her career, personal life and reputation, she begins to sense powerful forces at play within the police and intelligence services who want to stop her uncovering the truth.

Also starring in the compelling new drama are BAFTA Award winners Sir Michael Gambon (Fortitude) and Wunmi Mosaku (Black Mirror), Jonathan Forbes (Catastrophe), John Bishop (Accused), Rebecca Callard (Ordinary Lies), Jamie Bamber (Marcella), Sam Swainsbury (Mum), Emma Hamilton (Mr Selfridge) and Emmy nominee Robin Weigert (American Horror Story).

An all star cast drama that, on the surface, is about a lawyer trying to free a convicted man who maintains he is innocent. On top of that is a number of political themes and a wider international based conspiracy!

Airs every Monday on ITV at 9pm.

Stumbled across this on Monday without knowing much about it but was definitely attracted by the cast. Thought it was a good opener although there were A LOT of elements there and I was confused over what it was trying to be. Definitely wasn't expecting all Syrian elements and the segments in the US, although they do make sense with the titles.

Will be interesting to see how it all comes together in future episodes.

I'm watching this too. I'm not loving it, but will stick with it.
My main thoughts were :

I didn't know John Bishop did acting !
Isn't that Katie off Emmerdale ?
Isn't that wossername who played Esther's sister(?) in Hollyoaks ?
The main character doesn't half smoke a lot.

Ahh yes of course, thanks ! Ruby !! That name would never come to me in a million yrs. I liked her in HO. w00t.gif
I never thought the one that played ED Katie was anything special at acting, but fair play to her for popping up in something else (that has a strong cast). cool.gif
