BuzzJack Music Forum _ R&B and Hip-Hop _ J. Cole - 2014 Forest Hills Drive

J Cole announced at the end of November that his 3rd studio album would be coming this year, and it's now apparently out there ohmy.gif

I dismissed it as just a random side project when i saw the album title and cover art but it's a fully-fledged release from him (both pretty bad). Will listen through it soon and hopefully it lives up to the incredible 'Born Sinner'. Excitement~

‘Intro’
‘January 28th’
‘Wet Dreamz’
’03’ Adolescence’
‘A Tale Of 2 Citiez’
‘Fire Squad’
‘St. Tropez’
‘G.O.M.D.’'
‘No Role Modelz’
‘Hello’
‘Apparently’
‘Love Yourz’
‘Note To Self’

G.O.M.D has been sent to radio in America, so that could be the first single. Quite an unorthodox song.

He's got some jams though; Can't Get Enough, Work Out, Power Trip, Crooked Smile and She Knows are all pretty good smile.gif

A very well accomplished album from him again, that really speaks so loud through the lyrics.

It's a lot tamer than 'Born Sinner' without the BIG sounding hits of that, but it's still a very good listen.

Apparently has been added to the R1 playlist and 1Xtra have been playing it loads. Sounds nice on the radio, probably won't get top 40 though sad.gif

This is nothing but sheer genius. Seriously the best rap album i have heard for a long long time, simply fantastic.

I saw it was number one in Walmart in Canada so I bought in curiosity tbh laugh.gif Very good regardless! Looks likely this will go Platinum over there (or at least close).

Finally got round to listening to this and it is surprisingly great. It just seems to cohesive and well accomplished.

I will put this along with 'Broke With Expensive Taste', 'Cadillacitca', 'Oxymoron' and 'Run The Jewels 2' in my top 5 rap albums of 2014.

Wow, this is a fantastic album and I keep wanting to go back to it. The production from the outset is flawless but the raps are just as strong really. No Role Modelz is probably my favourite closely followed by Apparently which is an excellent single choice. My favourite male rap album in years.

Wondering if I should listen to this album or not...
