Theme: Express Yourself (a good week 1 theme for sure to introduce everyone in the best way!)
Musical guests: TBA
Confirmed songs:
Saara - Let It Go by Idina Menzel
Brooks Way - Cake By The Ocean by DNCE
Emily - Toxic by Britney Spears
Ryan - Perfect by One Direction

Rumoured songs:
Gifty - That's My Girl by Fifth Harmony

Also announced is a new twist to the way themes are picked. There will be a wheel with various themes, and a special guest will spin it to pick one. Included in this is a new theme "Louis Loves" drama.gif I do like this though it means the acts always have to be on their toes and adapt to any theme that could crop up.

Posted by: danG Oct 6 2016, 05:12 PM

At least they're not doing the #1s theme and then proceeding to pick songs that aren't #1s!

That sounds potentially interesting the way future themes will be picked! I just hope we don't get dated themes like Disco, Big Band and Insert Famous Artist Who Was Big Before Any Of The Contestants Were Born

Toxic ohmy.gif...can't wait to hear that!!!

Let It Go? Oh f*** RIGHT off rotf.gif

Posted by: Mackenzie Oct 8 2016, 12:00 AM

Terrible choices apart from Gifty of course hence why it's only a rumour

Well we can dream that Simon has suddenly discovered 'Starving' and realised that would be absolutely PERFECT for her but of course it'll probably be something super predictable!

You can already, just look up Melanie Martinez tongue.gif

Ugh I hate themes, unless they're really vague there's no point. They keep saying what's Honey G (not the best example!) going to do on ABBA week, well don't have a bloody ABBA week! What would Adele do on ABBA week? Most people who have actually made it stick to one genre and it does them no harm. Lol mini-rant.

The musicals guests still haven't been announced? dry.gif OneRepublic haven't mentioned anything about flying to London so I guess they're ruled out sad.gif

Out of luck I'm afraid, the following themes are apparently confirmed to appear in the "wheel of fortune" or whatever they are calling it:

- Oscars (so Movie Week)
- Boy Band vs Girl Band
- Disco
- Motown
- 80s
- Divas
- Louis Loves (the Louis Walsh Collection)

How will Emily Middlemass cope with these if 'Toxic' seems "dated" to her :')

Posted by: danG Oct 8 2016, 04:05 PM

Ugh.

Hopefully the themes on the wheel change every week then. I want some current themes!!

Posted by: skankhunt42 Oct 8 2016, 04:09 PM

Still wanting a Spice Girls v All Saints/ Girls Aloud v Sugababes theme!!

Posted by: Cameron Oct 8 2016, 04:10 PM

I would love Boyband VS Girlband but how many One Direction songs would be picked? :/

Posted by: Martyn Oct 8 2016, 05:48 PM

Emily calling Toxic dated. For that she can be first out.

Posted by: Ryan. Oct 8 2016, 06:03 PM

Brooks Way have been dramatically AXED from The X Factor following the launch of an investigation rumoured to involve an assault.

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/showbiz/goss/551962/X-Factor-Brooks-Brothers-Brooks-Way-axed

X Factor just can't help themselves when it comes to drama can they?

Posted by: Alex! Oct 8 2016, 06:08 PM

BRING SAADA BACK.

what a mess though. tragique.

Posted by: danG Oct 8 2016, 06:16 PM

what's the betting that they already knew about this assault but decided to put them into the lives and then "dramatically" axe them at the last minute to create "drama"??

This MIGHT explain the whole Niall Sexton cryptically tweeting about having his teeth whitened or something! but if so, then I don't think that's fair on the groups! laugh.gif

Posted by: Cameron Oct 8 2016, 06:24 PM

4 of Diamonds pls

Posted by: Ryan. Oct 8 2016, 06:26 PM

If they bring in a replacement - I imagine they will otherwise they won't have enough acts for the final - it will surely be 4 of Diamonds, Louis was still going on about them on Xtra Factor last week about how much he wanted them to go through as well.

BRING SAADA BACK.

This.

I assume 4 of Diamonds will be brought in if they're being replaced.

Such convenient timing for this to surface :')

And if they're doing wildcards it has to be Sexton!

Posted by: Cameron Oct 8 2016, 06:27 PM

Everything has managed to be very well covered, no leaks so far, so who knows what will happen?

Posted by: JosephStyles Oct 8 2016, 06:28 PM

Supposedly there's no replacement, although they've only been suspended at this stage I guess so they could be allowed back next week. This timing is ridiculous though laugh.gif

Posted by: Cameron Oct 8 2016, 06:33 PM

XF should really up the age to 18. It shows how some of the younger ones are too immature for the show

Posted by: twentyonemdh Oct 8 2016, 06:46 PM

CHRISTIAN PLEASE THANKYOU

Posted by: Sabrina. Oct 8 2016, 06:46 PM

What a mess

Surely it'll have to be 4 of Diamonds in to replace them? As much as he deserves it, it wouldn't be fair to leave Louis with just 2

This show never does fail to surprise me though and we'll probably end up with Yes Lad

Posted by: twentyonemdh Oct 8 2016, 06:46 PM

if it was christian i'd cry for hours

Posted by: Mart!n Oct 8 2016, 06:52 PM

Brooks Way axed ohmy.gif Surely 4 of Diamonds would replace them, otherwise too many male bands, if its true.

Posted by: Sabrina. Oct 8 2016, 06:55 PM

Interesting that reports suggest they've only been suspended and could return next week though?

Posted by: Ultraviolence1989 Oct 8 2016, 06:58 PM

Hope 4OD or Caitlyn return!

Posted by: JosephStyles Oct 8 2016, 06:58 PM

Yeah they've only been axed pending an investigation at this stage apparently, so if nothing comes of it, they'll be reinstated. I can't see them returning though if they're going to all this effort lol.

Posted by: Sabrina. Oct 8 2016, 07:01 PM

Here goes.. Come on Matt!

Posted by: danG Oct 8 2016, 07:01 PM

Why would they only suspend them for one week though? Thus giving them an easy ride to Week 2..

Posted by: Qween Oct 8 2016, 07:05 PM

I think Express Yourself is one of the better theme ideas they've had in a while. It's what they usually do ANYWAY.

Posted by: Sabrina. Oct 8 2016, 07:06 PM

No mention yet and Louis saying he has 3 acts he believes in

Posted by: Qween Oct 8 2016, 07:07 PM

I loved Sharon barely even trying to conceal her lack of enthusiasm/choice of three acts

Posted by: Sabrina. Oct 8 2016, 07:08 PM

And bring a suitably lifeless performance

Posted by: HausofTravis Oct 8 2016, 07:11 PM

That was not their best and they've been so good up until this point. Didn't really seem like a song they should've done to 'express themselves'. OK but not amazing ~

Posted by: Mart!n Oct 8 2016, 07:15 PM

Surely if they are suspended, they won't come back next week, as they probably get booed off, and probably get a free week for all the acts.

Posted by: Qween Oct 8 2016, 07:16 PM

Oh wow this is shocking

Posted by: RobBob Oct 8 2016, 07:17 PM

Wow, that was one hell of a foghorn.

Posted by: Jason Oct 8 2016, 07:17 PM

That key change gahhh

Posted by: Qween Oct 8 2016, 07:17 PM

It got a bit better as she went on but she was so off in the first half and barely got there in thr second

Posted by: Qween Oct 8 2016, 07:18 PM

Second on and shoddy surely means she will struggle to make it beyond this week

Posted by: Jason Oct 8 2016, 07:19 PM

Sorry Simon, it wasn't brilliant. sleep.gif

Posted by: Mart!n Oct 8 2016, 07:21 PM

Poor start for Sam, it just was too loud, she has got potential though, I put it down to first show nerves.

Posted by: Qween Oct 8 2016, 07:29 PM

She versed a little on thr shouty at times sadly but leagues above the other two tonight

Posted by: Qween Oct 8 2016, 07:29 PM

Really good arrangement too which is usually the weak spot on this show

Posted by: RobBob Oct 8 2016, 07:29 PM

Okay, that's EASILY the best thing she's done so far. I've thought she has a great voice throughout but I haven't been hugely interested in her but she got me there.

Posted by: danG Oct 8 2016, 07:30 PM

He is NOT loving Sharon!

Posted by: Mart!n Oct 8 2016, 07:37 PM

Did nothing for me 3.5/10

Posted by: HausofTravis Oct 8 2016, 07:37 PM

Not his best and the backing track was far too loud but it was decent.

Posted by: RobBob Oct 8 2016, 07:38 PM

Sharon is the star of the show tonight, I can't say I particularly care for any of the first 4 (Saara was fab but I'm not invested, 5AM weren't fab but I usually am).

Posted by: Qween Oct 8 2016, 07:39 PM

But yeah he was fine, which is pretty much his default.mode

Posted by: Ryan. Oct 8 2016, 07:41 PM

Saara was EXCEPTIONAL! I wasn't expecting them to go to such an effort with the arrangement change and the fantastic staging, and her vocals were flawless. She's going to completely outclass the majority of these amateurs, let's hope the early slot and the constantly country drama won't work against her too much.

Ryan was decent if unspectacular, Sam does have potential but she reverted back to shoutiness again and 5AM were bland with below average vocals. Strangely enough though, 5AM are the only act that are guaranteed to be safe out of these first 4.

Posted by: Qween Oct 8 2016, 07:44 PM

Ahh, DEAD MUM. I wondered how they were going to try and humanise Gifty.

Posted by: twentyonemdh Oct 8 2016, 07:46 PM

YESSSS! That's My Girl heart.gif

Posted by: danG Oct 8 2016, 07:48 PM

The song isn't good but Gifty did a great job of it. The best so far, she needs to make it through and sing a better song next week

Posted by: Qween Oct 8 2016, 07:48 PM

Ok that's hands down the best of the night so far, like an actual popstar strolled in. Backing track was very kind is the only criticism I have

Posted by: Mart!n Oct 8 2016, 07:48 PM

Probably the best performance of the show so far, she reminds me a bit like Fleur East, loved the whole thing.

Posted by: HausofTravis Oct 8 2016, 07:48 PM

She was out of time in moments and getting a bit lost in the backing (like many of them today) but in other moments she OWNED IT *.*

Posted by: RobBob Oct 8 2016, 07:49 PM

That wasn't amazing because it was so difficult to keep up with some of it, namely the fast bridge. But I really enjoyed it, she's the most ready made popstar of the lot.

Posted by: Jason Oct 8 2016, 07:49 PM

I'm not excited for any of these acts so far. Gifty was good but not as good as she was in Simon's house.

Posted by: twentyonemdh Oct 8 2016, 07:52 PM

Gifty was great.

Posted by: twentyonemdh Oct 8 2016, 07:55 PM

Posted by: Mart!n Oct 8 2016, 07:59 PM

Posted by: Jade Oct 8 2016, 08:05 PM

Oh wow that Matt Terry performance was my favourite of the night! ohmy.gif He's been a bit hit-and-miss with me so far but that was really slick and enjoyable.

Posted by: HausofTravis Oct 8 2016, 08:05 PM

Ok he is my least favourite contestant in terms of PERSONALITY (so arrogant and smarmy) but then that performance could be the best of the night so far, welp. Very, very good.

Posted by: Qween Oct 8 2016, 08:05 PM

They should have gone for Closer's more poppy, acoustic-y sister 'Starving'!!!! That didn't really work except a great last 30 seconds, but thankfully she will be safe as she has the potential to reach the final.

Honey G has a lot more support than people think. Whenever I mention X Factor she is the first thing people are talking now about and from what I've heard, outside of the stay at home bitter mums on Facebook, it's been mostly positive!

Posted by: HausofTravis Oct 8 2016, 08:55 PM

I'd say after that the most vulnerable after that are Ryan, Sam and Freddy! No idea who will be bottom 3 but those three seem quite forgetabble even though I really like Ryan so i'm predicting them...

Really should be a bottom 2 of Freddy and Emily though based on performances.

Relley > Honey G > Saara > Gifty > 5AM > Matt > Sam > Bratavio > Emily > Freddy > Ryan

Posted by: Chez Wombat Oct 8 2016, 08:56 PM

It was worth sitting through all that just for Honey G tbh *.* Even so, it's so refreshing hearing a song like California Love on X Factor! Definitely want her to win.

As for the rest, ehhh, none of these are inspiring me much. Matt was good, though I kinda think they'll just make him super unexciting like Che last year (his performance would've been better had he done the G-Eazy rap tbh!)

Honey G (oh my god, it sounds like a 2005 UK #1 single *.*), Gifty and Matt were the only I really liked. Saara was technically great too but they're really selling her as this cold character with the editing over the past few weeks, it's a shame and no doubt she'll be out tomorrow or next week, the audience reaction was very muted.

Oh my god at a Vengaboys song being used on X Factor laugh.gif

Posted by: Jade Oct 8 2016, 09:25 PM

01 Honey G ~ So entertaining it was unreal. Had to watch her performance again just now!
02 Matt Terry ~ Really strong vocalist. Great song choice with a suitably slick arrangement. Didn't overdo the falsetto!
03 Gifty Louise ~ Wasn't perfect by any means but the chorus in particular was really enjoyable. She has a real star quality about her.
04 Saara Alto ~ I absolutely hate 'Let It Go' but I enjoyed the staging and her vocals were top notch
05 5 After Midnight ~ Didn't wow me like they did at judges houses but it was decent enough. Maybe too safe.
06 Relley C ~ It was all a bit dated but she has a great voice when she doesn't overdo it.
07 Ryan Lawrie ~ Nothing special but again not bad really. Just pretty average.
08 Bratavio ~ Lmao that they're this high. Technically horrific but I couldn't help but somewhat enjoy the fun?? Plus the echo was hilarious.
09 Sam Lavery ~ Meh, liked her at judges houses but wasn't a fan of her rendition. A bit too screechy in places.
10 Emily Middlemas ~ Complete misfire! The song didn't suit her at all and it was awkward to watch the 'ooooh' bits over the production.
11 Freddy Parker ~ Started off like there was going to be some potential but what the HELL was that switching up of the song all about? Completely ruined it.

Posted by: Cucumberella Oct 8 2016, 09:26 PM

honey did EXACTLY what she needed to omg

Posted by: Ryan. Oct 8 2016, 09:34 PM

Hmm, it's hard to predict. With it being a bottom 3 rather than a bottom 2 I expect Bratavio and Freddy to be in there. Probably joined by Relley but there's an outside chance of Ryan, Saara and Sam too.

At this stage I'd go bottom 3: Bratavio, Freddy, Relley
Flash vote save: Relley
Sing-off save: Freddy

I do think Bratavio may be disposable now Honey G is taking off so well, and it'll see the show regain a bit of credibility.

Posted by: Martyn Oct 8 2016, 09:37 PM

Are we having a double elimination tomorrow?

Posted by: Ryan. Oct 8 2016, 09:40 PM

Nope, Dermot just said they are having a bottom 3 announcement where app voters then flash vote to save 1. The other 2 then go into the sing-off!

Don't be silly. 'Foundations' is pre-2010 so it's probably too dated for her. (Unless it's 80's-related, Carly Rae influencing people and making people believe it's the 80's is what I'm putting that down to tbh. drink.gif)

For a first show, that was a lot better than I had thought would be possible. Sharon and Nicole are outstanding together! *.* Still not seeing the Honey G hype, but I guess that worked for her!

I think a male winner would really help the XF this year! Matt seems to be "the one". He was excellent. I think with his own material, he will excel even further!

Posted by: Ryan. Oct 8 2016, 09:53 PM

The last 30 seconds were when we could actually hear her properly, she was fairly inaudible throughout most of the song! To be fair to her, the Spotify studio version does sound pretty good it just isn't a song that suits being performed live.

Posted by: Jonjo Oct 8 2016, 09:54 PM

But the first minute or so is her usual, whispery voice though? Then that "note"... oh no! laugh.gif

Posted by: Martyn Oct 8 2016, 09:55 PM

The app vote to save one of the bottom 3 is going to lead to bad choices.

Posted by: Ryan. Oct 8 2016, 10:03 PM

Her normal whispery voice usually stands out better in the sound mix than it did tonight, maybe it's because every performance we've had from her so far has had nothing more than an acoustic background so therefore she doesn't have to fight/raise her voice against a backing track. But the final chorus was pretty good aside from the big note at the end admittedly, but at this stage I think she's more of a Diana Vickers than she is a Janet Devlin/Abi Alton - I think she could belt like Diana can with some training.

Posted by: twentyonemdh Oct 8 2016, 10:07 PM

I thought that big second chorus was amazing - I loved the performance on the whole, definitely my favourite of the night wub.gif

6 - 5 After Midnight (disappointing!)
7 - Emily Middlemas (should've stuck with Toxic, that was so awkward when she was oohing or whatever she was doing at the instrumental bit tongue.gif)

9 - Samantha Lavery

While i am a fan of the show i had found the show had got very stale so suprisingly i really enjoyed tonight opening live show and thought in general the acts done well and in large picked good songs.

Posted by: Liаm Oct 9 2016, 12:51 AM

Thoughts on this week:

01 Relley (such a sassy, confident performance! I didn't expect that, but then again I'm not entirely sure what I expected given she had like 0 airtime prior to this laugh.gif But that will have saved her from the bottom 2 surely?!)
02 Saara (a brilliant arrangement of that song, started off a bit shaky and awkward but she totally hit her stride quickly and it really worked like that I thought plus I'd argue her voice is pretty much second to none of the talent - or lack thereof - this year)
03 Gifty (it wasn't as good as I expected, but I partly think that's just because it's not the sort of song that you'd perform to wow on X Factor tbh, I liked her attitude and I also loved that it was something you don't expect from her, to take a bit of a risk)
04 Honey G (I mean, it was entertaining which is more than I can say for a lot of below, as its week 1 it's not wearing off yet but I'm sure it will)
------
05 Matt (it wasn't anything I'd stan or go mad over but I was impressed, competent is the word I'd use. He's by far the most talented boy)
06 Samantha (on second listen not as bad as I thought, but there are definite issues with her control/pitch etc, I think she might not be ready and she could be the Tamera of this year? She has such a voice and so much potential)
------
07 Freddy (eh it wasn't too bad but pretty boring for sure, he's just not my sort of singer and the song is one of those I hate people covering because the Fugees version is so so good)
08 5 After Midnight (basically just Aldi JLS, their vocals are really off at times though, their dancing can't save them every time)
09 Ryan (basically everything wrong with music in 2016, a weak voiced boy who can barely carry a tune coasting on the fact he looks like a popstar, he'd have been much better in a boyband)
10 Emily (I know this sounds silly but it wouldn't be so bad if she wasn't so overrated, but I just do not hear what is supposed to be good about her? Suffice to say, her vocals on Closer were worse than the original's VMA performance :/ I hated her attitude about Toxic this week too, and that's not me being biased towards the song or Britney, it's probably more me being biased against Emily laugh.gif But it's just that there wasn't really a need to be so stuck up about the song just because she's not good enough to sing it... Plus points for finally not hiding behind the guitar but they just exposed her "voice" - or lack of....)
11 Brattavio (everything wrong with TV/society/music in 2016)

Relley surely saved herself with that, but idk if she was still a bit early to stand out and maybe she could slip into the bottom 2, Saara has that danger too. I really hope neither of those are there, I assume Brattavio will be but you never can trust Britain. I can see an upset of one of Relley/Saara going against Brattavio in one of the dreaded deadlock sing offs. The only other person I can see joining Brattavio is perhaps Freddy but I don't think he'd be so susceptible to the "shock" elimination.

Posted by: Davidson Oct 9 2016, 12:55 AM

Performance rate:

1. Relley C - 8.0/10.0 (I'm glad she pulled a good performance out the bag, not perfect but a very strong vocal)
2. Matt Terry - 7.5/10.0 (Sung very well but still unsure if perfect song for him)
3. Honey G - 7.0/10.0 (So wrong it felt so right, especially compared to some of the other boring performances)
4. Freddy Parker - 6.0/10.0 (Don't think this was as bad as people are making out; the piano part was great and he has a lovely tone. Did go a bit downhill but better than most)
5. Saara Alto - 5.0/10.0 (So Eurovision and so cheesy. She sung well but couldn't be less my thing and I find her personality insufferable)
6. Gifty Louise - 4.5/10.0 (Sorry, I think she's very poor vocally and not getting fuss; all one note and she didn't cope well with upbeat song)
7. Samantha Lavery - 4.0/10.0 (Shouting the song doesn't make you good love. No tone at all)
8. 5AM - 3.5/10.0 (Had been reasonably impressed up until now but their vocals, especially at beginning were terrible)
9. Emily Middlemass - 2.5/10.0 (What the hell was this? So wrong and sounded like a school talentshow performer)
10. Ryan Lawrie - 1.0/10.0 (So weak and non-descript it's almost offensive)
11. Bratavio - 0.0/10.0 (No comment. Go home)

Overall it was a terrible live show with hardly anyone sounding decent at all. I guess that's what happens when you get rid of the only good people in the rounds previously.

Honestly none of them seem deserving of winning X Factor at all.

Posted by: Ultraviolence1989 Oct 9 2016, 01:03 AM

Relley and Saara are both in the top 3 (with Matt) on many of the online polls so I hope they can both avoid the bottom three!

Posted by: HarryEzra Oct 9 2016, 01:21 AM

1. Matt Terry - I orginall had Relley at first ages ago but thinking back and I feel as if Matt's the one that has stuck with me the most. His voice was incredible and he pulled that song off so well. He didnt overdo the high notes either was flawless in my eyes heart.gif
2. Relley C - Such a good song choice for her The songs tone and style worked really well with her voice.
3. Honey G - I loved this performance was so fun and so right for her I will probs get tired of her but for now *.*
4. Saara Alto - Was a beaitufl arrangment nothing like the original and her voice was really good ohmy.gif
5. Gifty Louise - Some of it was a mess but It was very good ohmy.gif

6. Ryan Lawrie - Wasnt amazing but it was pretty good for his type of voice. I want something different from him though,
7. 5AM Midnight - Here is where it starts to go bad Doesnt sound like them at all ohmy.gif

8. Samatha Lavery - Was shouty as hell shame sad.gif
9. Emily Middlemass - Doesnt sound like a song she would sing at all sad.gif

10. Freddy Parker - WTF was that bit after the piano laugh.gif
11. Bratavio - Just AWFUL puke.gif

Posted by: Jason Oct 9 2016, 01:42 AM

Bottom 3 prediction: Bratavio, Freddy, Saara (I think Relley C's good performance could save her, but I'm not that sure)
Flash vote save: Freddy
Sing-off save: Saara

Bratavio need to go, they're awful. dry.gif

Posted by: Ryan. Oct 9 2016, 01:40 PM

Saara is up to 536k YouTube views, nearly 400k ahead of 2nd placed Matt on 178k views. Of course a lot of these will be from international viewers, but I'm hoping it'll make the producers think she is worth keeping around seeing as she does create a lot of social media hype.

Relley and Bratavio have the least YouTube views, I could see that being a realistic bottom 2. I'm still fearing Saara is going to get dragged into the fight with her early slot, gothic staging which could turn off the younger fans and the fact she is from ABROAD.

I now think it is going to be 3 from 4 rather than 3 from 6 that I suggested last night. I think Ryan and Sam, while being behind the top 5 of Matt, Honey, Emily, Gifty and 5AM, will have a buffer ahead of the bottom 4. So that leaves Bratavio, Relley, Saara and Freddy - 1 of which will be safe.

Posted by: Mackenzie Oct 9 2016, 03:03 PM

YES!:
01. Relley C - 08.5/10 Many underestimate Relley but her performance was the best of the night for me. The song choice, the rapping, the stage prescence. Give me that diva I love!
02. Matt Terry - 08.0/10 Wasn't expecting much from Matt but the final minute of that was sublime and the minimalistic stage construction well with the rawness of his vocals. Yes!

Good, but not great:
03. 5 After Midnight - 07.0/10 vocally nothing special, but their energy was enough for me to enjoy and they seem to gel well as a group on and off stage. Terrible song though.
04. Gifty Louise - 06.5/10 - As a fan of both FH and Gifty, I was most excited for this performance but it started out really flat tbf. It did however get better towards the end.

TV GOLD:
Honey G - 06.0/10 - No talent whatsoever lmao but I can't even deny that was TV gold, although if she stays whilst better vocalists go I will be mad.
Bratavio - 05.5/10 - Yes, it was bad. So bad it was nearly good. But at least I stayed awake watching it which I can't say for the rest of them.

Basic messes:
Samantha Lavery - 05.0/10 - Yeah, it was good, I guess. Meh, nothing more.
Saara Aalto - 03.5/10 - if there was a song I never wanted to rehear it was 'Let It Go' and I honestly don't care if she 'did it justice' after six chair, she makes me cringe so much.
Freddy Parker - 02.5/10 - Painfully bad. Really I liked Freddy before but how he has made the finals seems laughable. Not enough.
Emily Middlemas - 02.0/10 - Really this song? gurl bye. How boring.
Ryan Lawrie 00.0/10 - Well he's there I guess which is more than I can say for Brooks Way. Still so basic, hopefully it;s a double elimination with Emily and they can leave together.

Posted by: Qween Oct 9 2016, 07:35 PM

Bye Saara

Posted by: Mart!n Oct 9 2016, 07:37 PM

Perfect bottom 3

I reckon Saara will get the flash vote

With Freddie going home.

Posted by: Qween Oct 9 2016, 07:37 PM

In a SANE world Bratavio would be gone instantly

Posted by: Cassidy Oct 9 2016, 07:38 PM

Bratavio will surely go if not saved by the flash vote, yes?

Posted by: honeyG Oct 9 2016, 07:38 PM

everyone vote to save Saara!!!

there's a flash poll on the app that has Saara at 40%, Bratavio at 11% and Freddy at 49% - so it's likely that Freddy is going through.

Posted by: Ultraviolence1989 Oct 9 2016, 07:39 PM

Come on Saara!!!

Bratavio to go and rly glad Relley/Sam/Gifty/Honey G are through!

Posted by: Davidson Oct 9 2016, 07:39 PM

Freddie gets my 5 votes anyway, the only one of the 3 with some tone in his voice.

Posted by: Sabrina. Oct 9 2016, 07:39 PM

Normally I'd be sceptical about the judges voting, but I think they'll sacrifice Bratavio since they already have Honey G as the novelty act

I don't get why the public aren't connecting more with Saara seeing as she has the best voice in the competition. Her sing off was the best of the entire series imo!

I hate Motown week but at least it will get it out of the way. I also think the group performance should be dropped, i see twitter is going on about the group performance was mimed but to my knowledge it has always been mimed every week in the past series.

Simon should accept that people do not have interest in Fleur East, he does everything he can to give her promo he really must have a soft spot for her. On xatra factor i wish someone would put the question to Simon, does he think if he put more effort to the winners of the show that people would have more an interest in the show.

The first few were live when it was first introduced, but after they were so messy they have been mimed. (I can't remember when they started doing them). I think people always forget in the first few weeks how awful they are at miming.

Posted by: jase. Oct 9 2016, 10:37 PM

The group performance for 'Sax' was a bit awkward really. The majority of them couldn't really dance outside of Gifty and (surprisingly) Freddy laugh.gif

Posted by: Liаm Oct 9 2016, 10:51 PM

Saara even being bottom 2 in the first place was an utter joke, she has by FAR the best voice in the competition. She sings rings around even the likes of Relley, let alone Emily and Ryan for example who predictable sailed through. Like Jack said though, it's UKIP Britain at its worst. I haven't really seen much critique for Saara's voice or performance on social media it's always "she's not British!1!1!"... I don't care if an act comes from the moon, I'd rather see someone with a huge voice and a hell of a lot of talent like Saara than a generic young boy with the usual haircut barely "singing" above a whisper, a boy band who dance energetically to cover up their lack of vocal talent or the next Sam Smith clone. My hope for this series is Relley becoming the Fleur figure but I doubt it :/ Gifty may be my only hope but I lose Relley and Saara in the first few weeks I can't see myself keeping up with the series. There's always Honey G I suppose laugh.gif

As for the theme next week, Christ drama.gif I don't normally like genre weeks as it is because rather than being a challenge to adapt to different styles, to me it feels like they confine the acts to something they may not ever release anyway. But the worst ones are the dated triad of Big Band, Disco and Motown. No contestant this year is going to even attempt releasing any of those genres, so it just feels pointless to a week of them being sung. And besides, I'm sure a lot of the contestants will just turn them acoustic or do a piano ballad arrangement or whatever suits them, so it defeats the purpose of having a theme that's geared towards a certain style. Wider themes like say rock or dance are fine but I still think the purpose of the live shows should be a craft out an artist, and if they're never going to release dance or rock, why should they have to sing it?

Posted by: Houdini Oct 9 2016, 11:11 PM

Posted by: Bonq Oct 9 2016, 11:21 PM

Posted by: RobBob Oct 10 2016, 01:49 AM

I could see that really suiting Freddy actually.

Posted by: Tombo Oct 11 2016, 12:29 AM

Matt is a clear winner, his performance was incredible and wowzers he is HOT!

Is Freddy gay? He seems very gay-acting but hasn't said it outright afaik.

It is not racist to not vote for Saara. I am not racist but it is harder to connect to a non-British act in this sort of platform. I think her voice is INCREDIBLE but it is just harder to connect.

I am not thrilled for Motown week, I wanted Louis Loves. Also, is the wheel spinning thing just fixed anyway?

Like I'm pretty sure Fright Night will be in the closest weekend to Halloween.

Posted by: Liаm Oct 11 2016, 07:02 AM

No it isn't racist to not vote for her if you can justify your dislike or disconnect with something other than "she isn't British". I know that some people don't like big voices like hers, they prefer softer subtle voices, and that would be fine as a reason why you're not a huge fan of Sarah but if people really can't come up with a reason that isn't "she's not British" it's a tad pathetic. You wouldn't say "she's harder to connnect with because she's a woman " "he's harder to connect with because he's black", so why is "she's Finnish why is she here!!1!' even being said drama.gif

Also I hate how so many people are hung up on Freddy's sexuality. It's got nothing to do with anything and it's not like he has to shout from the rooftops, it has nothing to do with a singing competition. Funnily enough it's mostly gays on twitter and say Digital spy etc who I see being horrendously judgemental about it...

It's just interesting to know

And I actually like her voice and her music but the fact she isn't British and can come off as cold and a bit full of herself sometimes doesn't help.

Also when she had to do a second song and sang in French really didn't help people to connect.

And to the people above it is not racist, it is evolutionary psychology.

Posted by: Jack Oct 11 2016, 04:45 PM

The fact she isn't British can come across as cold and full of herself?! laugh.gif what a load of bullshit!!! Sorry your low key racist opinion has been deemed as trash.

Evolutionary psychology?! Jesus Christ. Whatever you need to say to justify yourself babes.

Posted by: Ryan. Oct 11 2016, 04:49 PM

I do think Saara has been edited quite badly at times, particularly at the 6 chair challenge and I see why some people are holding this (incorrect) view that she's perhaps a bit diva-ish. When she isn't being edited badly though, as you can see in this interview from yesterday, she is absolutely lovely and adorable:

No, the fact she can come across as cold and full of herself is separate from her nationality and also a plausible reason for her low ranking.

Also, her age is against her. We have only have one female over win the show, most are out in the first few weeks.

I think her renditions of Let It Go and Alive were really good.

I'm just keeping it real, people seem to be scared of having honest discussions these days

Also, why weren't Bratavio on the daytime TV on Monday? I am guessing they either got really drunk or Sunday or just refused to go on due to diva-ish attitudes.

Posted by: Burbe G Oct 12 2016, 11:55 AM

Saara was bottom 2 because she's not British, imo. The public is xenophobic when it comes to a competition like this because they'd rather support home grown talent. That's how I see it anyway.

Posted by: JosephStyles Oct 12 2016, 01:19 PM

I don't think it's xenophobia in terms of the general public, like Ryan said I don't think she's had the best edit so people haven't warmed to her too much, especially as her personality comes off as quite quirky which the public generally don't like on these kinda shows (definitely not my personal opinion though, I think she's fantastic). "She's not British" isn't a reason to not connect with her though, that can't be used against her and I'm quite disappointed to see it has been in this thread.

Posted by: Burbe G Oct 12 2016, 01:45 PM

I don't agree with it being a reason, but I think we over estimate some of the public. Personally I can't warm to her because I find her too theatrical, nothing to do with her nationality. I can't deny she's an incredible singer though.
