Given the contestants will be among the last to be vaccinated and that cases are at their all time high, this must put a massive question mark as to whether there will be a 2021 series at all whether in Majorca or the UK. If it does take place in the UK then it would have to be in Anglesey, Isle of Wight, Canvey Island or the Scottish Isles etc to stay true to its name.

Maybe it could be a group of 20-30 year olds with underlying health conditions eg. asthma (people with underlying health conditions would be higher in the queue for vaccinations)

I think they should still do a series if the cases are low in Majorca they should carry on doing them there .

I could see it maybe being something similar to what Love Island USA did having them on the rooftop/inside of a hotel in Vegas? Don't know where exactly they would do that in the UK though.

They will do it/ push it back 4 weeks, I am sure I read the problem with the winter series was the casting etc. - it takes so long and there is so much uncertainty, it disrupted the summer series and the winter series just was not viable.
They would need a lot of extra capital to have private testing done and a bio-secure bubble. |

Surprised at that. The South African variant of the virus is also what scientists are most worried about now in terms of Covid. Our borders have been open since November but I think I may have jinxed it now Just announced that the president is addressing the nation tonight! |

What are the South African government going to do about the vaccine for their citizens if the South African variant is believed by scientists to be likely resistant to the current vaccines? Was this not fake news? The president said last night we have 20million vaccines being rolled out for the first half of this year There's so many stories and lack of research that I don't even know what to do or believe anymore |

I suppose when the producers can get quick enough Covid testing for everyone involved channels can run these sorts of TV shows again.
I'm sure many Love Island critics had hoped Covid restrictions would end the series for good This post has been edited by TheSnake: 2nd March 2021, 11:25 PM |

Cast revealed. Usual tokenism of one (1) black female and male. The rest white straight influencers with amazing bodies. Boring. Cba to watch.
Series like Are You The One? do it so much better with more diversity. |

I will watch as I’ve actually missed it but I really wish they would listen to people that call them out for the lack of diversity within the cast . It don’t help that literally the majority of line up currently revealed look like clones of past islanders also

On SA Love Island, the public made a huge fuss about lack of diversity to the extent that the main sponsor pulled out after 1 episode. Then nearly every bombshell after that was a POC
It's disappointing but I'll still watch |

The casting is so lazy like the guy from Weston-Super-Mare kinda looks like Finn, has a foot fetish like him, watching the little bios you really do end up noticing a lot of the same archetypes and characteristics even if it’s small things and it’s like watching the same show with the same cast! I work a lot of evenings now so I doubt I will bother to watch tbh

I was gonna give it a go and properly try and get into it if they'd have bothered with a more diverse cast...but that? Nah, they can f*** off
EDIT: DS just put out an article addressing this mess and I couldn't have put it any better: https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/reality-tv/a3...diversity-body/ This post has been edited by Jαsє: 23rd June 2021, 04:35 PM |

Forgot this started tonight - turned it on during the coupling bit and to be honest everyone just left me a bit cold. It didn't feel interesting and just extremely superficial. I know its love island and all the series are like that, but maybe with the world as it is etc it just feels even more shallow than it did before.
I'll probably watch a couple more eps, but I can't see this hooking me again in a big way... but we shall see |
