Really poor update this week. I can't believe that something as different and refreshing as 'Dance Monkey' comes along and R1 just ignore it and playlist the same old crap instead. So frustrating

Ignoring 'Dance Monkey' is quality control xxx (I'm pretty sure they will add it in the future though).
That Doja Cat song is kinda trash but it's so catchy (like most of her songs lol). It's kinda like a more contemporary version of 'All About That Bass'
prefer the version without Tyga tho ~ Nice to see another slowthai track added too although not his best song.Please point to where there is anything that remotely counts as 'mumble rap' on this playlist?

Mumble rap is not a synonym for 'rap you don't like'.
I'll give you Lil Tecca at a push but even that isn't really 'mumbling', just more focused on melody than lyrics.

Loving The Runner at the moment, will have to listen to Toaster again as can't remember it from the album. I am not enjoying very much current chart rap aside from Stormzy, Dave and Skepta. Listened to a bit of 2010 Tinie Tempah the other day and it was fire, certainly put a lot of recent things into perspective. Those Aitch and Headie One songs don't do anything for me. But are also not really aimed at me, to be fair.
Hope We Got That Cool isn't going to be a C-C-C-OUT staller. I seem to have heard it quite a lot on there considering its C-list status, and I haven't been listening much.

Great to see Foals going with The Runner as the new single then - really can't wait for the second part to this era, they are the best band in Britain this decade imo. Also great to see Slowthai, Mark & Rex Orange County getting continued support.
I can see Don't Call and Angel being a huge no1 between now and Xmas! Why take 3 weeks to A List Jorja, helping it stall?

It would be ridiculous for them NOT to support the new 1975 single, they're the biggest band in Britain at the moment and thankfully not Capital so can play guitar music on mainstream radio!

Dance Monkey is super awful but it's also one of those songs that are hits no matter how hard you are hating so better just let them be. Another examples of recent times: Can't Stop the Feeling (which thank god harmed JT's career in the long run), all boring singles by Jess Glynne, Beautiful People etc...
