THE COI TOP 40 - 09 August 2019


The chart this week sees more tracks enter from the latest edition of the Buzzjack Song Contest than any previous edition. Arcodesia's first top ten entry at the contest is looking to become the nation's fifth number one in the chart as Etostone takes on Post Malone and Young Thug who are hoping to spend a third consecutive week at the top with Goodbyes.

Nine of the record-breaking twelve new entries in the chart this week come from BJSC 116 as well, with RIOT and KLOUD's DNQs from last week joined by various finalists. Greenfroze's amusing entry from Italian comedy metal band Nanowar of Steel is the highest of the new BJSC songs, just ahead of Jadakissnia's track from Slovak rapper Gleb. Chris Lake also scores a new entry representing Thelonia, with Dobago's epic by Apocalypse Orchestra also landing in the top 30 along with Drab Majesty's song Ellipsis, which finished as the winner of the contest for Aeroche. The other new entries from the contest are Utopia's entry by Cousn, Fljótavík's track by Rob Dougan, Heilung representing Persephonia, and Budtar's entry from Shallou.

The highest new entry this week, however, does not come from BJSC. That honour belongs to Ariana Grande's new collaboration with Social House. Headhunterz scores his second top 40 hit here with a new song featuring Sian Evans, and Manchester rapper Aitch, who features on Young T & Bugsey's current top 20 single Strike A Pose, makes his debut as a lead artist with Taste (Make It Shake).
