I have a feeling Spurs are gonna win it next season, making it exactly 10 years since their last silverware!
The draw for this was pretty messed up with the wrong teams being shown on the graphics, the live streaming sound going wrong where the draw was made in Thailand due to sponsorship.
It was rather a mess from what I saw of it. Here's the second round draw (better late than never).

Since this has partially occurred, Carlisle are out. According to the commentator at the ground for Sky, there might have been a good penalty appeal for Carlisle near the end of the match.
Finally an article on the possible devaluing of the League cup.

Great night for Bristol last night! Hoping both are rewarded with glamour (preferably televised) ties in the next round.
Going to Cheltenham tonight, we should win but given our form and characteristics this is a banana skin.
Here's the draw for the third round, better late than never. This particular round takes place 19th and 20th September.
Barnsley v Derby County (second round match) taking place on the 12th September. Original first round tie between Grimsby and Derby was abandoned after 19 minutes because of heavy rain.

No team talk needed on this one two players who were contacted to play for Leeds didn't want to
They can both expect dogs abuse which they will get
Liverpool out of the League Cup after losing 2-0 to Leicester. This could have been a very good chance of silverware for Liverpool so it's definitely a missed opportunity for them.
The draw for the fourth round has been made, matches will be the week beginning 23rd October.

Other news, Barnsley beat Derby County in the delayed second round match, delay explained in earlier post. Barnsley were beaten by Tottenham in the last round.
Wolves becoming the first team to hold Man City goalless unfortunately they lost on penalties. First time this season that Man City haven't scored.
Tonight reminds me why I love West Ham!! Never saw that coming, what a result. I know it's only the League Cup but tell that to the fat off grin on my face.
Great to see Bristol City get through, hope for a big tie for them and for the city! The whole area will be buzzing if a top team comes to the West Country (Rovers fans excepted).
Fantastic comeback from West Ham - didn't see it coming at all after the first half when they looked like they had given up on Billic!
Hopefully this starts a mini downward spiral for Tottenham! A lot of strong teams in the quarter finals of this tournament, any of the teams could potentially win it.
Bristol City get Man United at home! No overtime for the Bristol police when that rolls around...
West Ham get Arsenal away so that's us out.
That will hopefully be a good match, Bristol City v Man United.
O'Dowda for a brace!
Quarter Final Draw
Arsenal v West Ham
Chelsea v Bournemouth
Leicester v Man City
Bristol City v Man Utd
Man City beat Leicester on penalties!
Arsenal won 1-0 against West Ham as well. We could potentially have 4 of the big six in the semi final this year if Man United & Chelsea win their matches tomorrow. This competition used to be regarded as a joke and still is by a lot of people but by the end the top teams are normally still taking part. I would be glad if we retained this cup and another trip to Wembley for Man United would be nice, I might even try to get some tickets if we make it to the final.
Yeh once you get to this point you may as well try and win a trophy - especially as the final will be as the European games return!
I don't fully buy that fixture congestion thing myself, given how much footballers/managers are paid they can't cry about "too many matches". Also if you want to be the best team you have to take loads of tough games across many competitions as part of the challenge.
Having said all that I wouldn't be too disheartened if if was scrapped, it is in essence just an inferior FA Cup. I wouldn't want it continue running without the teams in Europe though, as that would completely devalue the competition.
Happy to be out the cup. I mean we should have stormed that match and it’s a f***ing disgrace we lost to a championship team but I cba going to the semi final and it’ll give us some rest for the important next stage of the champions league because I’d really like to make the quarterfinals in that
Ah well. Rather that than get annihilated by city in the semis...
I'm not happy that we're out of this competition, that was a lacklustre performance from Man United and the whole match just felt uninspiring to watch from a fan point of view. Well done to Bristol City though, it was a well deserved win for them and I hope that they go on to win this cup now. I would much rather them than Chelsea, Man City or Arsenal.
Gonna have to rely on the FA Cup now for a trip to Wembley and for the most realistic chance of silverware this season.
Would have preferred Man Utd to go through and it's a shame the football starts again soon as this defeat won't linger for too long!
Wonder which players Mourinho is going to throw under the bus...
Scrapping the League Cup would also help to manage the gap in the 2021-22 season caused by the winter World Cup.
Chelsea vs Arsenal
Man City vs Bristol City
Bloody brilliant draw
The FA might as well engrave Man City's name on the Carabao Cup now.
The same could have been said for uniteds place in the semis before tonight!
I'm sure they'll beat Bristol over 2 legs but in a final they could easily lose to either Chelsea or Arsenal so still will be interesting to see how it all pans out...
As a proud Bristolian, I watched the game in the pub with over 100 Bristol City and Manchester United fans. Such scenes when Bristol City scored their winner, I was among them! They played so well and deserved their win.
So what if they fail against Manchester City, every other team this season has. What it does mean is another big occasion for the city of Bristol.
Yeh exactly United fans saying they aren't fussed about being knocked out are talking nonsense!!
I thought we played really well. Our passing and movement was sublime at times (both goals were great moves). The whole team worked their bollocks off and we wanted it more than United. We deserved to win on effort alone and justice was served after Pogba dived for their free kick.
I actually would have prefered Chelsea or Arsenal tbh as I've never seen either before and I think we would have had a slim chance against either. Manchester City will probably destroy us but it doesn't matter really, we've done so well to get this far!
Gutted to concede at the end but great effort by the lads. We still have a slim chance...
Yeah great effort! Gonna be one hell of an atmosphere for the return leg and who knows anything can happen.
Again a great effort from Bristol City but not to be with Man City going through.
Arsenal win the Carabao Cup silver medal match against Chelsea 2-1. Chelsea were poor tonight and have ultimately suffered from the lack of attacking threat that they showed in the 1st leg.
You must be happy Houdini!
Why would I be happy about that? it's not Manchester United that won.
Come on then Arsenal, make the Pep trophy brigade wait a few more months.
I'll be hoping that Arsenal can beat Man City in the League Cup final and make Pep wait for a trophy.
The final for this is on Sunday! Who do you think will win?
Until recently I thought Man City would be near certs to win this but I've got a sneaky feeling that Arsenal might win it instead. It depends how Arsenal will approach this match, if they approach it in the same way that they approached the FA Cup final last season then they will win but if not then City will win.
I suspect City will win comfortably but all in all I just hope it's a great game.
Yeh same here if Arsenal can expose a high city line with the speed of Aubameyang they could exploit the defence but would have to be better at keeping it tight themselves!
This is football, Arsenal are so gonna win after their absolute embarrassment last night.
Certainly the result I'm hoping for!
Man City to win probably 3-1 with a sending off.
Well done City great win!
Yeah can't really begrudge them they absolutely dominated the match. Although one bit of trivia amused me that the 3 goalscorers were all non-Pep acquisitions.
Not a great performance from Arsenal to be honest there. Was really hoping the game would be a lot more closer.
Congrats to City!
Arsenal's performance was not great, but City were much better.
The bigger travesty was Gary Neville's commentary.. he was so unprofessional. He clearly has a lot of built up anger inside from the Arsenal vs Man Utd days and it hurts to see them roll over to his most hated clubs!
Well most of the Arsenal fans I know completely agreed with him tbf
