This thread is the thread for covering Triathlon at the Olympics this year.Feel free to discuss all the ins and outs of Triathlon. I'll just stick around and do some more damage Joined: 14 February 2009 Posts: 115,034 User: 8,300	Flora Duffy from Bermuda has just won the gold in the women's triathlon, Bermuda's first ever gold medal at the Olympics and making it the lowest populated "country" to ever win an Olympic gold medal. This is the kind of stats I live for from the Olympics. (Philippines also won their first ever gold medal earlier in the weightlifting! as mentioned by Pete in the 'miscellaneous' thread x) GB taking another silver medal as well for Georgia Taylor-Brown. (Given Bermuda is an overseas territory of the UK can we count that as an all-GB top 2? )

Massive well done to Georgia Taylor-Brown though - having to ride with a flat tyre and then needing to catch everyone up must have been some task.

I'll just stick around and do some more damage Joined: 14 February 2009 Posts: 115,034 User: 8,300	I didn't even know until about an hour ago that there was a triathlon relay - seems to be a new addition to the Games this year - but ayyy at us winning the inaugural gold in it . Wasn't watching but I was checking in on the BBC live blog coverage periodically throughout and looks like it was rather tense with the top 3 separated by just a few seconds not far from the end...! That's quite something for the sheer number of athletes / disciplines involved.

We had such strength in depth in the individual race so only natural that could transfer to the relay, very happy for Jonny Brownlee for getting a gold after being seen as second to his brother most of his life.
