this is really complicated, thought songs have to increase 50% in sales to get the normal ratio back, but now I see it's a 50% increase relative to this weekly overall value...
but I see this value is very small 0.3%, that's nothing... does it mean that if Despacito goes from 50 to 52K, which is feasible considering it's NOW week, it would be back to normal ratio?? or am I understanding it wrong?

Understanding it wrong, 50 to 52k wouldn't be a 50% increase if the market only goes up 0.3%.

In this increasingly confusing world of ACR are we able to say that Mama and Strip That Down should definitely (by the rules) have ACR applied this week? What are their sales records for the past 4 weeks?

taken a look, and it appears Jonas Blue actually increased in sales this week, so should be safe from ACR.

Liam Payne did not.

Going to have a go at explaining this in the hope that I understand it...

The market fell by 0.3% this week, meaning it was 99.7% of the size it was last week, or 0.997 times.
In order to have increased by 50% relative to the overall market, Despacito would have had to increase by (0.997 x 50%) = 49.85%. So more like an increase from 50 to 75k.

This is basically 50%, so really we can just ignore the extra term. The whole thing is quite ridiculous though, I get that they're trying to freshen up the chart but it really means nothing now.

These songs are in danger of moving to ACR next week, but I can't be 100% sure of anything until the next mids come in.

5) Jonas Blue feat. William Singe - Mama
6) Liam Payne feat. Quavo - Strip That Down
12) DJ Khaled feat. Justin Bieber - I'm the One
20) Imagine Dragons - Thunder
49) Katy Perry feat. Nicki Minaj - Swish Swish
57) Not3s - Addison Lee
71) Oasis - Wonderwall

perhaps we'll see some movement in the top 10 next week!!1
Mid update:

Mama down to #7 - ACR hasn't kicked in yet here clearly.
Strip down 6-17.
I'm the One down 12-22.
Thunder down 20-53. Ridiculous! mellow.gif
Swish Swish down 49-95.
Addison Lee down 57-81.
Wonderwall out of the chart.

Yeah I think I dislike these rules. I knew it needed a few weeks to form a realistic opinion. The desired effect is not being had!!

So Swish Swish doesn't have a chance to become a hit now. Shame because there's still time for radio to get on board more and the music videos effect will surely do something

Swish Swish's ship had sailed over a month ago. It's not getting any Spotify support anymore, and it's long gone in terms of sales.

They clearly aren't pushing Swish as a single anymore, it had its chance and now it's gone. The label could've asked for special measures if they really wanted to still try to push it.

But Katy Perry has just finished recording the video. Surely she does record the video for Save As draft and push that rather than going for Swish Swish

Yeah, exactly. She's been posting pictures on social media of an imminently premiering video for it. Radio 1 will probably playlist it soon in that case?

12) Camila Cabello - Crying in the Club
56) Imagine Dragons - Believer
65) NEIKED ft Mimi - Call Me

Seems wrong that NEIKED "Call Me" could move onto ACR while it's still bubbling under doesn't it. I think they need to scrap the rule, the chart actually looks better without it!

It's flaming ridiculous that Power, Pretty Girl and Crying In The Club have peaked this week yet are almost certain for ACR next week.

I'm not entirely sure I understand the new chart rules, but doesn't the fact 'Power' increased in sales this week means it's safe from ACR?

All four of these hitting ACR would give the top 10 a good shuffle, fingers crossed.
