It has sales figures of 375,954 which is the third highest amount of sales in a week, after Shape Of You's 8th and 9th week at the top spot. DJ Khaled's new single I'm The One, the only one of the many releases last Friday, catapults 28 places to number (3), and almost manages to outsell Shape Of You. There are 6 new entries in the top 40 this week, the highest amount since Drake released More Life. The highest is Kygo & Ellie Goulding's new single First Time, which was number one on last weeks Bumbling Under chart, and makes it's top 40 debut at (13). Two members of One Direction have new entries this week too. Nial Horan's Slow Hands, released on Thursday starts at (27) and Harry Styles' Sweet Creature, released on Tuesday (I think), starts at (31). Katy Perry's new single Bon Appetit, and French Montana's Unofrgettable, which were on last weeks Bubbling Under Chart enter at (36) and (40) respectively. The last new single comes from Imagine Dragons' up and coming album EVOLVE, Thunder, debuts at (34). Aside from I'm The One, Charlie Puth's Attention is the only song to reach a new peak this week at (22). Rag 'n' Bone Man's Skin (HP: 32, 1+1+8 weeks), Lorde's Green Light (HP: 13, 9 weeks), Lana Del Rey's Lust For Life (HP: 27, 2 weeks) as well as some of the larger hits of the past 12 months, James Arthur's Say You Won't Let Go (HP: 8, 31 weeks), The Chainsmokers' Closer (HP: 1 for 10 weeks, 39 weeks) and Justin Timberlake's CAN'T STOP THE FEELING (Finally!!!) (HP: 2, 52 weeks) have left the chart. CAN'T STOP THE FEELING is the longest charting song since I begun this, and is the first song to spend a whole year in the chart. Sales seem ridiculously high this week, and many songs that would have entered the top 40 have been pushed out. The top 3 has been stagnant for 5 weeks now, and the rest of the top 40 few moments from most songs. Notable changes are Miley Cyrus' Malibu (6-11), Selena Gomez's Bad Liar (17-28) and Drake's Passionfruit (25-32), but most notable is Katy Perry's Swish Swish, which falls from (19) down to (41). There has been an issue with the Spotify data, for there is none from 20th - 23rd July inclusive, so data isn't nearly as accurate for this week. I had to use the sales data for 19th July twice and data for 24th July three times to create the results as close as possible to the actual figures. It's either that or nothing 17th – 23rd July: Despacito manages to match the record set by Shape Of You & One Dance for the most weeks at number 1 with 14 weeks. It does have the greatest percentage loss of sales yet (6.3%), yet is still 100,000 copies stronger than it's nearest competitor, DJ Khaled's Wild Thoughts at (2). This week saw the very unfortunate suicide of Linkin Park's frontman Chester Bennington. This has lead to In The End & Numb to enter the chart at (29) & (30) and heavy returns to the top 50 at (48).
