‘Lost Without You’ has been a runaway success so it was only a matter of time before Freya’s debut album was announced. It’s a while off yet but for now has been confirmed for an end of May release and includes the current single and ‘Ultraviolet’.

You Mean The World To Me is the next single. Video was previewed on Sunday Brunch; Maisie Williams stars and it’s directed by Lena Headey.





Official video is coming on March 1st so that’s probably when the studio version is out too.

I think the live version she recorded Live at Omeara is better; her diction is a bit rubbish on the studio version. Really am warming to the song on the whole though

One of my favourite Freya songs! It’s more uptempo than her previous releases and really anthemic, hopefully it won’t get lost like You Mean The World To Me did.

it was too bad how poorly the last one did, for me the song was ok but not on the same level as LWY
it got some Spotify support and was on HH but always in the bottom part, so that doesn't help much

Good to see Love Is Fire on the album <3 I really thought she'd be a major albums success this year but the delay and the reaction to subsequent singles is making her feel a bit like a one-hit wonder Hopefully she can pull it back.

Actually, her voice is much much better than Florence's (and I'm a Florence fan)

Castles is great, just need radio support and especially better Spotify support, You Mean was added to HH but was always at the very bottom among the urban tracks

sure she does not have a chance against Ed even if its his 2nd week :/

I hope there's some more upbeat tracks to be found on here when it's finally released. Castles aside, everything is nice enough but could be quite the chore to sit through if it's all like that.

from the album tracks that are old (80%) the only really upbeat one is Castles, Ultraviolet is also a bit poppy but not in the same way as Castles but it's not a ballad either... but the rest of songs are all ballads...
but then there's 3/4 songs we never heard so might be upbeat

didn't know Love is Fire but found it now and yeps it's more upbeat... so even if few, there are gonna be some faster tracks to add some dynamic to the album

There's always a risk when an artist's live material becomes popular and those songs are later recorded in the studio, that the the edges are shaved off in the studio (Radio and At Your Side by The Corrs spring to mind, the versions on In Blue were underwhelming and overproduced compared to the Unplugged versions).

Luckily Freya's got it spot on. If anything, Castles and Love Is Fire have been vastly improved with studio production, even though the live versions were already great. Holy Water is also excellent!

And her ballads are just perfect, so hauntingly beautiful.

Would still like a studio version of Lost Without You with strings at some point though, like the St Pancras Old Church live version, even if just an alternative mix released onto Spotify.

It is a strong opening for the album.
After You Mean The World to Me i did not think she would come close to this success with the album.
Castles has greatly helped turn that around.

This album is incredible and easily my favourite of this year.

Lost Without You/Castles/You Mean The World To Me = the holy trinity of the album but that run of Blackout to Unconditional + Wishbone is

I like it too although I can see where some of the criticisms in the Guardian review comes from about it being a bit dull and safe, I think most of them will potentially grow on me in time but for now my favourites are Ultraviolet & Still Have You and the singles. I'm not keen on the ordering but I can sort that, it leaves too much of the slower material in the second half. Plus I'll add Waking Up and Maps to it as both are lovely.

Bit random but does the CD of this have lyrics in the booklet?

I'm unsure of a line and I've seen a couple of different versions of what it supposedly is online and it's bugging me haha.
