I'm thinking in terms of being right in the middle of a show's run - usually between one season & the next.

Does it bother you when they do that?

I don't like it - for me it spoils continuity.

Sometimes it’s necessary, especially with child actors who may grow up too fast or slow for the story being told. Where they aren’t the central characters (eg modern family or stranger things) then it really doesn’t bother me as it typically helps the story along.

I don’t like a clumsy recasting but it’s better than just randomly killing them off or writing them out.

Well my favourite TV show is recasting it’s main character for 12th (technically 13th!) time!

If you mean Dr Who, wasn't it mentioned some point in the early run of the series that he could only regenerate 10(?) times?

This happened a few times in Seinfeld. Matt McCoy, Richard Fancy, Barney Martin and Jerry Stiller were all excellent replacements.

He could regenerate 12 times which he did at end of Matt Smith’s run and they resolved it by having Time Lords give him new lives

so you can’t put a DAMPER ON THE FUN HERE
