BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ Round 29: LEAST favourite year-end top 40 single of 2013

#13 Calvin Harris feat. Ellie Goulding - I Need Your Love

Sadly Calvin misses the top 10 with the wonderful 'I Need Your Love'. It's generic Calvin but the production is good despite that and it doesn't have the Calvin on autopilot sound for me that Summer has. Ellie's also one of the best female voices at the moment, so yeah, I'm not particularly pleased with this dropping out. I remind you that Counting Stars is still in. Vote for it.

Now we're in the top 15 there will be a new poll every day, so it should take about 2 weeks until we find a winner!

No major loss there, decent enough track (though not one of his best) but brutal overplay really killed it for me somewhat :/

STILL Dear Darlin'...

Dear Darlin. sick2.gif
Drake after that's gone, then La La La, then Mirrors

That's my 0/10 songs after that- hoping for a summertime sadness win as the other 2 best songs are 14 and 30

Any of Lana, OneRepublic or Olly Murs to go.

"Summertime Sadness" just for the mediocre vocals

Posted by: M¤th 23rd October 2014, 06:56 PM

Dear Darlin and Hold On, We're Going Home NEED to go but after that I don't really mind.

Posted by: FleetSeb 23rd October 2014, 07:20 PM

Sad this went out sad.gif

But generally a decent selection of tracks left apart from White Noise and Dear Darlin. Also surprised by Need U's persistence, I don't dislike it but kind of feel that it's just flying under the radar more than anything.

Posted by: Davidson 23rd October 2014, 07:29 PM

How on earth Olly Murs managed to get into the top 12 I will never know. I assumed that the dreary 'Dear Darlin' would have been out between 30-40, I just assumed it's shitness would mean it was hated on here.

'Dear Darlin'' is a great song. Pleased it has got this far.

Counting Stars for me!

Drake and Justin Timberlake to go soon please but I think Mirrors could finish quite high sad.gif

As there's nothing I dislike more, I'm going with Need U (100%) until it sods off, others are welcome to join! (though I may switch to Waiting All Night if that looks like going soon given I almost dislike that as much, srsly both two of the most extremely overplayed, overrated dance tracks of last year)

Posted by: Jason 23rd October 2014, 10:41 PM

Drake to go. dry.gif

Posted by: Leonardo 23rd October 2014, 11:27 PM

White Noise, still alternating with this WAN & Need U

Posted by: Yorkie2 23rd October 2014, 11:52 PM

Been voting Dear Darlin' for ages, it's alright but there's just nothing to really like about it. I like every song left once that's gone, but I'll probably switch to Waiting All Night... As for Duke Dumont, I don't think many people have strong feelings about it which is why nobody's voting it to go, but if this had been done the other way round it probably wouldn't have been this high. Wouldn't mind it winning though actually, I really quite enjoy it on listening now! smile.gif

I don't think Duke will win, may come around sixth I think.
