300 CHARTS
yep, who'd have thought this chart would still be going after 300 editions? me.
anyway, I'll be counting down my top 40 songs of the week in this thread, as well as revisiting some of the charts of yesteryear.
http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=190415&view=findpost&p=5406017
Today's contenders
Calvin Harris & Rihanna ~ This Is What You Came For
Calvin and RiRi debuted at #1 and haven't left that position since, could they get a fourth week at #1 this week on the 300th chart?
SeeB ~ Breathe (feat. Neev)
SeeB have been very unlucky to fall behind massive #1s 'This Is What You Came For' and 'Mirror Me' and currently has spent 6 weeks at #2, five of them consecutively. Could this finally be the week they get their long-awaited #1?
Croatia Squad & Lika Morgan ~ Make Your Move
Now for the outside contender - Croatia Squad and Lika Morgan entered at #14 last week with their re-interpretation of Dave Armstrong's 'Make Your Move' (also known for the Junior Jack version titled 'Stupidisco'), could it climb all the way to #1 this week?
Also look out for new songs from Martin Solveig, Danny L Harle, High Contrast and more in the chart this week.
HYPE
40 34 25 Zara Larsson ~ Lush Life
57-35-54-21-5-3-5-5-3-5-2-3-1-1-2-7-9-7-13-24-26-26-29-34-40-
We start the top 40 with one of my personal favourites of the year, if not *the* favourite. Despite just the two weeks at #1, 'Lush Life' has been a very consistent runner in the top 40 all year as well as having a mammoth top 10 run. Choon.
Chart History [Zara Larsson]
01 Lush Life
12 Girls Like (w/ Tinie Tempah)
13 Never Forget You
16 This One's For You (w/ David Guetta)
43 Uncover
39 73 14 Era Istrefi ~ Bonbon
24-22-21-17-15-20-32-44-53-58-50-51-73-39-
Queen of Albanian pop music [well there's not exactly any competition] Era Istrefi smashes her way back into the top 40 this week as 'Bonbon' is still quite the banger of a tune. Also it's now got an English mix which isn't as good as the original but now means the song may have a chance of being a UK hit
Chart History
15 Bonbon
38 45 12 Gnash ~ I Hate U, I Love U (feat. Olivia O'Brien)
41-48-49-48-42-36-20-40-64-53-45-38-
After spending a good 10 weeks in my chart The UK decided to finally make this song a hit. Good thing too 'cause it's a beauty of a song. I just hope I don't eventually get really tired of it like often happens with slow songs that get big, but this deserves to smash. It re-enters the top 40 this week off the back of its impending UK slayage.
Chart History
20 I Hate U, I Love U
37 31 6 Mura Masa ~ What If I Go? (feat. Bonzai)
91-x-87-59-30-31-37-
Mura Masa broke through earlier this year with 'Firefly' and 'Love For That' which were hits around the same time in my chart. This has to be the best thing he's done to date though, very fresh and British sounding production.
Chart History
24 Firefly
30 What If I Go?
50 Love For That
That Bonbon track is quite the bop, not heard the English version as of yet.
Boo at Mura Masa falling I still love that
36 33 2 MNEK ~ At Night (I Think About You)
33-36-
After the brilliant 'Never Forget You', it seems MNEK hasn't followed in the path of Zara Larsson by releasing an even better song. 'At Night' however is still very good and gets a 2nd week in the top 40 this week.
Chart History
05 Hold On (w/ Duke Dumont)
13 Never Forget You (w/ Zara Larsson)
13 Baby (w/ Rudimental)
17 The Rhythm
18 Ready For Your Love (w/ Gorgon City)
23 Close (w/ Sub Focus)
33 At Night (I Think About You)
35 19 5 Margaret ~ Cool Me Down
18-16-14-19-35-
After four weeks in the top 20 Margaret starts making her way out with the Zara Larsson-sounding 'Cool Me Down'. It's done very well here though for what is essentially a Eurovision song.
Chart History
14 Cool Me Down
Cool Me Down is better than anything Zara has or will ever release IMO
34 ** 1 Willy William ~ Ego
34-
Now we go to our first new entry of the day, this one comes from French musician Willy William whose 'Ego' has over 90 million views on YouTube. It seems that I'm late to the party with this one but nonetheless it's quite a banger.
Chart History
34 Ego
33 64 3 High Contrast ~ Remind Me
97-64-33-
Entering the top 40 is the return of High Contrast, who has a bit of history in this chart including a #1. Needless to say 'Remind Me' is the best thing he's done in AGES. I do love a good bit of drum n' bass from time to time and this guy knows how to make it
Chart History
01 The First Note Is Silent
08 Strong (w/ London Grammar)
16 The Road Goes on Forever (One Minute to Midnight Mix)
33 Remind Me
43 How Love Begins (w/ DJ Fresh)
49 Let Go For Tonight (w/ Foxes)
32 41 2 Anton Powers ~ Love You Better
41-32-
Well I certainly didn't expect Anton Powers to come back with such a tune - after all, 'Alone No More' was a bit of a letdown for Philip George after two brilliant singles and maybe that was down to Powers. But he proves himself with house anthem 'Love You Better' which brings him back into the top 40 this week and could climb further in the coming weeks.
Chart History
26 Alone No More (w/ Philip George)
32 Love You Better
Love You Better is a stunner it is pretty much Alone No More but with female vocals yet still a massive tune. Nice find!
31 28 22 Alan Walker ~ Faded (feat. Iselin Solheim)
14-15-2-3-3-7-8-4-5-15-18-8-12-13-9-5-7-15-19-21-28-31-
It seems this song is starting to slip now, but let's not ignore its mammoth top 20 run which definitely has the song down as a contender for the EOY Top 10. This is still such a breath of fresh air in the UK charts too.
Chart History
02 Faded
R3TRO
Let's now take a break to look at what was hitting the charts 5 years ago!
It was the week of Lady GaGa's album release, which had a major impact on the chart. The new entries from her were 'Schieße' [#9], 'Government Hooker' [#21], 'Marry The Night' [#27], 'Bad Kids' [#32] and 'Electric Chapel' [#33] - which joined 'The Edge Of Glory', 'Born This Way', 'Judas' and 'Hair' in the chart.
Other new entries that week came from Calvin Harris ('Awooga', #22 - which would later peak at #3) and for some reason Clare Maguire ('The Shield And The Sword', #34) and The Script ('Science & Faith', #42).
Here's how the top 10 looked:
01 [01] LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem [feat. Lauren Bennet & GoonRock]
02 [04] Nero - Guilt
03 [03] Alexandra Stan - Mr Saxobeat
04 [22] Pitbull - Give Me Everything [feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer]
05 [05] Lady GaGa - The Edge Of Glory
06 [12] Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me
07 [07] Inna - Sun Is Up
08 [08] Calvin Harris - Bounce [feat. Kelis]
09 [NE] Lady GaGa - Schieße
10 [NE] Nicole Scherzinger - Right There [feat. 50 Cent]
This would be the eighth and final week at #1 for LMFAO (a record at the time) before being overtaken by Pitbull the following week.
30 32 3 Arston ~ Light
70-32-30-
The top 30 starts with Arston who recently represented Danaelanda in Worldvision and finished 9th with this trance banger. The song's actually a year old but only got recently discovered for the purposes of the contest.
Chart History
14 The Universe (w/ Marcus Schössow)
30 Light
29 30 8 Gryffin ~ Heading Home (feat. Josef Salvat)
83-94-x-60-44-32-36-30-29-
Well this is turning out to be quite the slow burner of a tune. It's the debut from Gryffin who's become popular over a series of remixes as often is the way into the dance music world these days. Really like the vocal in this too.
Chart History
29 Heading Home
28 26 7 Petite Meller vs. Pnau ~ Lil' Love
74-46-31-23-17-26-28-
Well imo this is a lot better than 'Baby Love', but it's not getting nearly as much love from Buzzjack as that got. Mostly because barely anyone knows it exists
Chart History [Petite Meller]
17 Lil' Love (w/ Pnau)
50 Baby Love
Chart History [Pnau]
09 Changes (w/ Faul & Wad Ad)
17 Lil' Love (w/ Petite Meller)
35 Sad (w/ Elton John)
27 20 7 Sigala ~ Give Me Your Love (feat. John Newman & Nile Rodgers)
17-37-30-27-20-20-27-
It's still yet to make the top 10, and probably won't now - but Sigala continues his near-perfect record of releases. One can only hope 'Give Me Your Love' is set to slay the UK charts soon despite its archaic release method.
Chart History [Sigala]
01 Sweet Lovin'
05 Say You Do
06 Easy Love
17 Give Me Your Love
Chart History [John Newman]
03 Feel the Love (w/ Rudimental)
06 Blame (w/ Calvin Harris)
11 Love Me Again
17 Give Me Your Love (w/ Sigala)
26 Not Giving In (w/ Rudimental)
49 Cheating
50 Come And Get It
Chart History [Nile Rodgers]
01 Get Lucky (w/ Daft Punk)
14 The Other Boys (w/ NERVO)
17 Give Me Your Love (w/ Sigala)
26 58 3 Danny L Harle ~ Ashes Of Love (feat. Caroline Polachek)
77-58-26-
Now this is how to make phresh and futuristic electronic music. It's a world away from 'Broken Flowers' but still has the signature Danny L Harle sound to it and it's growing at such a fast rate. It's certainly good to have new music from him.
Chart History
03 Broken Flowers
16 In My Dreams
26 Ashes Of Love
25 27 7 Maverick Sabre & Luis Leon ~ I Need (Remix)
28-16-23-22-19-27-25-
This is such a good chill house song, well I guess it really had to take something to turn a borefest into something special and that's just what Luis Leon did here. Love the production in this.
Chart History
16 I Need (Remix)
20 Let Me Go
25 Jungle (w/ Professor Green)
ewww @ gnash
high contrast + anton powers ~ 2 dance-floor bombs
danny l harle
24 18 10 Mahmut Orhan ~ Feel (feat. Sena Sener)
24-24-29-24-10-8-15-13-18-24-
Still a serious tune, and probably my fave BJSC discovery of the year. It's doing well in a few European charts too which is good to see, and at least a lot of people on Buzzjack love this.
Chart History
08 Feel
23 9 10 Gorgon City ~ All Four Walls (feat. Vaults)
45-30-25-12-12-10-8-10-9-23-
Gorgon City do really know how to make a great deep house tune when they want to, really hope they keep up the quality because 'All Four Walls' is excellent. Though it does drop 14 places this week oops.
Chart History
02 Real
04 Right Here (w/ Jess Glynne)
06 Here For You
08 All Four Walls
14 Say You Love Me (w/ Jessie Ware)
15 Go All Night
18 Ready For Your Love
22 13 7 Drake ~ One Dance (feat. Wizkid & Kyla)
29-19-17-14-12-13-22-
Drake made UK Chart history tonight with 7 weeks in a row at #1. It's a bit of a different story for him in this chart, he got 7 weeks in a row all the way back in 2010-11 on 'What's My Name'. As for this song, well it's very good but misses out on a top 10 peak.
Chart History
01 What's My Name (w/ Rihanna)

03 Hold On, We're Going Home
04 Started From the Bottom

50 Jumpman
21 ** 1 Martin Solveig ~ Do It Right (feat. Tkay Maidza)
21-
Martin Solveig returns to slay all our ears this time with the help of multiple BJSC entrant Tkay Maidza. It's not quite up to his previous 2 singles but still a banger.
Chart History
03 Hello
07 Intoxicated
07 +1
12 The Night Out (Madeon Remix)
21 Do It Right
28 Ready 2 Go
20 ** 1 Rochelle ~ All Night Long
20-
Well I can't resist a sassy female urban-pop song so of course when Tim sent this to BJSC I was gonna love it. Now hopefully it lives up to predictions.
Chart History
08 Shotgun (w/ Yellow Claw)
16 Return Of The Mack (w/ Lady Bee/Oliver Heldens)
20 All Night Long
19 15 3 Martin Garrix & Avicii ~ Hold On Never Leave (ID)
22-15-19-
Hopefully this actually sees a proper release soon because it's great and would probably sound even better in HQ. Also, it's better than Martin Garrix's current release.
Chart History [Martin Garrix]
01 Animals
02 Poison
03 Wizard
04 Project T (w/ Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike)
06 Gold Skies

15 Hold On Never Leave (ID)
17 Break Through The Silence
19 Tremor
22 Virus (How About Now)
28 The Only Way Is Up
Chart history for Avicii not included because it's seriously long. Plus it's also debatable if he's actually involved in the song.
18 16 2 David Guetta ~ This One's For You (feat. Zara Larsson)
16-18-
Can this hurry up and smash plz. Even if it's not the best he's ever done (I hope he isn't sticking to tropical house inspired songs forever, 'No Worries' with Disciples gives me hope anyway).
Chart History [David Guetta]

17 25 3 Throttle ~ Money Maker
76-25-17-
Loving the disco vibes on this *.* Great to have a funky disco track like this on Spinnin', and after all the good things I've heard about Throttle it's nice to actually have a song by him I can get down with.
Chart History
17 Money Maker
16 24 2 Fais ~ Hey (feat. Afrojack)
24-16-
Loving the whistling sound in the drop, and just about everything else in this too. Big summery tune AND the best thing Afrojack's done in ages.
Chart History [Afrojack]

48 We're All No One (w/ NERVO)
15 12 6 AlunaGeorge ~ I Remember
31-37-30-27-12-15-
Loving Flume's production in this, and the Kiiara esque vocal chopping also. Despite being quite slow it's such an interesting song and keeps on giving.
Chart History
06 White Noise (w/ Disclosure)
08 Your Drums, Your Love
12 I Remember
17 I'm In Control
20 You Know You Like It (w/ DJ Snake)
14 21 8 Kungs vs. Cookin' On 3 Burners ~ This Girl
57-27-11-9-20-25-21-14-
So glad that this is actually going to be a big UK hit. I wasn't sure of its chances but it's such a good house anthem for the summer so of course it was going to be a big European smash. Now re-climbing my chart again due to excitement from this but mostly because it's really good as a song. Could even re-enter my top 10 soon.
Chart History
09 This Girl
13 17 7 Cheat Codes & Kris Kross Amsterdam ~ Sex
72-57-43-31-18-17-13-
This is turning out to be a proper jam. No surprise that it's going to be a huge European summer hit, and no complaints from me either! Loving the drop and middle 8 in particular.

11 6 7 Desiigner ~ Panda
29-20-16-5-6-7-6-6-11-
This urban jam just misses the top 10 this week after 5 weeks inside. It's done amazingly well though and is still unbelievably catchy.
Chart History
05 Panda
So happy this made the UK top 10.
10 8 15 Maceo Plex ~ Mirror Me (feat. C.A.R.)
93-x-11-3-3-4-5-1-1-1-1-1-3-4-8-10-
This looks like it's about to leave the top 10 now, but what a mighty run it's had *.* One of my faves of the year, I love how many layers it's got to it and how it keeps you hooked throughout all 7 and a half minutes.
Chart History
01 Mirror Me
38 Crossfade (w/ GusGus)
9 7 13 MK & Becky Hill ~ Piece Of Me
14-4-1-1-2-3-4-6-4-6-9-7-9-
Likewise, this is another of my favourite songs of the year. Watching its UK chart progress is great yet painful to watch as it will likely not make the top 40, but at least we can be thankful that this absolute choon exists.

8 5 6 Disciples & David Guetta ~ No Worries
39-21-13-7-5-8-
After ages since 'How Deep...' it's great to have Disciples back (and even better to have Calvin back as he's still to come with his follow-up) and with Guetta too although it doesn't sound like he did much to this song. I'm even used to the random man saying things in the background of the drop now, I do love a care-free song like this.

7 22 4 Becky Hill ~ Back To My Love (feat. Little Simz)
61-40-22-7-
Becky Hill has one of the best voices in music right now, and whilst she suits dance music really well she can pull off pop as well. It becomes her 2nd song without a dance producer to enter my top 10 and probably her best of those two as well, it's quite the grower.

love mickey, this and 'sweet baby' are immense tunes
5 4 8 TheFatRat ~ The Calling (feat. Laura Brehm)
2-2-3-3-5-5-4-5-
This was one of those songs that just really impressed on first listen, and eight weeks later it's still top five so yeah, very much a standout tune for me. I'd never have guessed I'd like the 'Monody' follow-up even more than 'Monody' itself but it does feel like it's heading that way judging by the chart run.
Chart History
02 The Calling
04 Monody
28 Windfall
4 3 8 Galantis ~ No Money
21-10-9-7-4-3-3-4-
This is definitely Galantis' top tune for me now, such an uplifting and catchy song and it's great to see it be so well received in the UK and across Buzzjack. I never expected this from them.

Chart History
02 Breathe
06 I Took A Pill In Ibiza (w/ Mike Posner)
2 14 2 Croatia Squad & Lika Morgan ~ Make Your Move
14-2-
Loving this EDX-sounding house remake of 'Make Your Move', the girl's voice really works on it including the ad-libs in the drop. Basically got all the ingredients for a catchy deep house hit in my chart. Though of course it's not enough to dethrone the mighty Calvin and RiRi.
Chart History

33 Brown Sugar (Croatia Squad Remix) (w/ Platinum Doug)
1 1 4 Calvin Harris & Rihanna ~ This Is What You Came For
1-1-1-1-
The real question here is will this leave the #1 spot anytime soon? It's just the tune that keeps on giving. This is definitely what I came for, Calvin.
~~~~~~~~
thefatrat, galantis, seeb ~ this is shaping up to be a tremendous top5!
3 weeks @ #1 on beatport for this, drake had better watch his back
calvin + riri killing it
fantastic chart dan
Still not crazy about that Calvin track myself but I am liking it a bit more now.
Definitely need to check that Croatia Track out cos I love the original (and Junior Jack version too actually). Great to see No Money doing very fine indeed!
Elsewhere I'm enjoying It's My man & think it should do pretty well this contest! Speaking of BJSC great to see Feel clocking up a lengthy run
Good chart all round!
that Mickey track is great
