Analysis

The album chart this week sees 13 albums fall due to a high new entry at the top…The year’s top 2 albums from Carrie Underwood and The Veronicas stay where they are this week while four climbers come courtesy of Bob Sinclar (20-17), Shakira (14-13), an ever-climbing Alisha’s Attic (10-6) who have been climbing every week so far with their Collection and a new peak for German dance act Cascada who vault from No.11 to No.4…Elsewhere in the top 10, Sandi Thom, Now 64, Best Club Anthems 2006 and Nelly Furtado all suffers slips while Lily Allen slides past Cascada to No.5 with Alright Still on its 10th week around…Paolo Nutini and The Pipettes fall a place each in the top 3 which means that there is a brand new No.1 album…following her self titled debut album and Stripped to my No.1 spot its…Christina Aguilera!!!

The singles chart sees three brand new entries this week, two from Christina’s No.1 album Back to Basics and the highest new entry is Paolo Nutini’s forthcoming single Jenny don’t be hasty…Elsewhere below the top 10, The Pipettes have three songs, Lily Allen’s LDN is still hovering about, Paolo’s first single last request doesn’t budge from No.14 and Michael Gray leaves the top 10 with Borderline…Lily’s Smile dives to No.10 while Rogue Traders fall just a place after 13 weeks in the top 10 with Voodoo Child…Pink scores only her second top 10 hit (after Lady Marmalade) as U & Ur hand moves up to No.8 behind Cascada and The Pipettes who fall out of the top 5 this week…Sandi Thom moves back to the top 5 with new single What if I’m right while David Guetta vs. The Egg (from the Citroen advert) hikes up to 4th place this week…Nelly Furtado’s Promiscuous is down a place and is replaced at No.2 by Belgian dance act Mickey Modelle and Jessy who climb from No.5…however it is the Columbian’s and Haitian’s who rule the top slot again as Shakira and Wyclef gain a 5th week in control and a 25th week in the top 20!!!
