Did I fool people into thinking I was Iz for just a minute? x (I confess I've never heard of Tokyo Ghoul) It's actually one of the most popular anime around! Decent first season (young man gets turned into supernatural creature that can only eat human meat) but that concept only holds for so long and it apparently goes to pieces in the followup seasons which I have not watched. but the music from it is definitely a highlight, the opening theme 'Unravel' is an awesome post-hardcore song, and 'Glassy Sky' is another soundtrack song that gets a lot of accolades. |

Definitely felt like I was skirting the veto here, though if it had been vetoed I'd still have sent a different slightly more guitar heavy song from Moaning which is nearly as good:
Yay for me being off to a good start anyway with points from both of the first 2 voters including a medal position already *. cheers Wardy & Chez ~ |

04. Juan Carlos was behind…
We The Lion - You QUOTE +12: Working Men's Club - "A.A.A.A." +10: Bebe - "Malo" +08: Ellis - "Shame" +07: Soccer Mommy - "Circle the Drain" +06: Larkin Poe - "Preachin' Blues" +05: Egoism - "What Are We Doing?" +04: Westerman - "Confirmation" +03: Club Smith - "Young Defeatists" +02: BAILEN - "Your Love Is All I Know" +01: DI-RECT - "Times Are Changing" Next up is Juan Carlos who is behind ‘You’ by We The Lion! They are a band based in Peru which explains the overwhelming amount of Spanish comments on YouTube. The song is in English though! The singer reminds me a little of Ben Howard which I think is due to the folky tone of his voice. The song is pretty sweet and devotional, with the singer promising to “never let you down”. The video is equally sunny too with a girl dancing around merrily with her rainbow hair and headphones. Juan Carlos is currently sitting on 0 points but he has revealed company in awardinary at least. His votes are pretty impactful as they change the winner! Working Men’s Club now take the lead, following a full 12, while closest rivals Karnataka fall to 2nd after a snub. Juan Carlos then awards 10 points to Bebe which advances ‘Malo’ into 3rd! He also gives Ellis quite the boost - 8 points sees ‘Shame’ up in 4th now. He helps DI-RECT and Larkin Poe off 0 also, reducing the nil pointers to 8. SCOREBOARD 1 35 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 2 28 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 3 22 Bebe - Malo 4 18 Ellis - Shame 5 17 Westerman - Confirmation 6 16 Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 7 13 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten [Chez Wombat] 8 12 Colony House - You Know It 9 10 Moaning - Fall In Love [Bré] 10 9 Windwaker - My Empire 11 8 Shangralas - White Gold 12 8 Egoism - What Are We Doing? 13 7 Folkstone - In Taberna 14 7 Club Smith - Young Defeatists 15 6 Summoning - Land Of The Dead 16 6 Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 17 4 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know 18 3 Dogleg - Fox 19 1 Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500 20 1 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud 21 1 DI-RECT - Times Are Changing 22 0 Alter Bridge - Blackbird [awardinary] 23 0 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work 24 0 Club Drive - Spare Time 25 0 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 26 0 Kasalla - Stadt met K 27 0 Math The Band - Four To Six 28 0 Sonata Arctica - Whirlwind 29 0 We The Lion - You [Juan Carlos] |

Moaning one of the few acts I'd heard something be before. Like everything I've heard without anything being amazing.

All 3 are great entries!
'Licht Und Schatten' is such an Iz entry (but a Chez entry too...hmm). Still, deserves to win. Already flopping hard, fantastic. |

It appears I've done an exact point swap with one of these posters!
Too many above-average entries still stuck on 0 points, but I'm sure that won't last. |

05. Maz! was behind…
DI-RECT - Times Are Changing QUOTE Hi Jade here are my nuggets votes 12 Kasalla - Stadt met K 10 Math The Band - Four To Six 08 We The Lion - You 07 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten 06 Shangralas - White Gold 05 Ellis - Shame 04 Sonata Arctica - Whirlwind 03 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 02 Moaning - Fall In Love 01 Club Smith - Young Defeatists Next up is Maurice with ‘Times Are Changing’ by DI-RECT! It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that it’s Maz behind this entry as DI-RECT are a band from The Netherlands. ‘Times Are Changing’ was an appropriate single title as it was their first one released with new frontman Marcel Veenendaal. The piano melodies in this song give me slight Coldplay - ‘Clocks’ vibes and it’s of course guitar heavy too. The video is pretty simple with the band just playing their instruments. This entry is currently on 1 point… better than nothing I guess? Maz does some strong charity work as his entire top 3 comprises of songs that were previously on 0 points! Kasalla, Math The Band and We The Lion now all sit in the top 20. Sonata Arctica are lifted off 0 too, so now just 4 songs remain on nil points. Maurice extends Working Men’s Club’s lead in first to 10 points and also helps FalKKonE to rise into the top 5! SCOREBOARD 1 38 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 2 28 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 3 23 Ellis - Shame 4 22 Bebe - Malo 5 20 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten [Chez Wombat] 6 17 Westerman - Confirmation 7 16 Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 8 14 Shangralas - White Gold 9 12 Colony House - You Know It 10 12 Moaning - Fall In Love [Bré] 11 12 Kasalla - Stadt met K 12 10 Math The Band - Four To Six 13 9 Windwaker - My Empire 14 8 Egoism - What Are We Doing? 15 8 Club Smith - Young Defeatists 16 8 We The Lion - You [Juan Carlos] 17 7 Folkstone - In Taberna 18 6 Summoning - Land Of The Dead 19 6 Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 20 4 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know 21 4 Sonata Arctica - Whirlwind 22 3 Dogleg - Fox 23 1 Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500 24 1 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud 25 1 DI-RECT - Times Are Changing [Maz!] 26 0 Alter Bridge - Blackbird [awardinary] 27 0 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work 28 0 Club Drive - Spare Time 29 0 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood |

Thank you Maurice! (I knew DI-RECT were Dutch so should have guessed that was your entry and ofc Juan Carlos also going for an act from his own country!)
Great to see 'A.A.A.A.' in the lead so far, would be more than happy for that to just hang on all night ~ |

06. Jade was behind…
BLOXX - Lie Out Loud QUOTE 12 Ellis - Shame 10 Westerman - Confirmation 08 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 07 Moaning - Fall In Love 06 Bebe - Malo 05 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know 04 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten 03 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 02 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 01 Windwaker - My Empire Great job guys! Now it’s time for the host entry! You guys had fun trying to guess my entry on plug.dj but I don’t think anyone suspected that this was me. Surprise! I discovered ‘Lie Out Loud’, from English band BLOXX, on New Music Friday and enjoyed it so much that it kicked off my motivation to finally host this contest! It was such an instant love so I thought it’d be perfect for the contest with that aspect and the guitar sound. The guitar playing and drums are seriously impressive in this song. ‘Lie Out Loud’ really packs a punch with its angst and über catchy chorus. It doesn’t feel a million miles away from a Paramore song. We’re also treated to a really colourful animated video. Right now it does not look like a 3rd Nuggets win is on the cards for me, with only 1 point at this stage, but anything could happen! The Ellis song was the biggest highlight of this edition for me - my 12 pushes ‘Shame’ up to 2nd! My silver results in Westerman rising to the top 5 too. Finally, my 8 goes to Working Men’s Club so that stays safe in first, with an 11 point lead now. I wonder who is behind that? I lift H.E.R.O. off 0 so now just 3 songs are stuck in that unfortunate position. SCOREBOARD 1 46 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 2 35 Ellis - Shame 3 31 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 4 28 Bebe - Malo 5 27 Westerman - Confirmation 6 24 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten [Chez Wombat] 7 19 Moaning - Fall In Love [Bré] 8 16 Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 9 14 Shangralas - White Gold 10 12 Colony House - You Know It 11 12 Kasalla - Stadt met K 12 10 Math The Band - Four To Six 13 10 Windwaker - My Empire 14 9 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know 15 8 Egoism - What Are We Doing? 16 8 Club Smith - Young Defeatists 17 8 We The Lion - You [Juan Carlos] 18 7 Folkstone - In Taberna 19 6 Summoning - Land Of The Dead 20 6 Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 21 4 Sonata Arctica - Whirlwind 22 3 Dogleg - Fox 23 2 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 24 1 Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500 25 1 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud [Jade] 26 1 DI-RECT - Times Are Changing [Maz!] 27 0 Alter Bridge - Blackbird [awardinary] 28 0 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work 29 0 Club Drive - Spare Time |

07. Suedehead2 was behind…
Shangralas - White Gold QUOTE Here goes,... 12 ~ Moaning - Fall In Love 10 ~ Colony House - You Know It 8 ~ Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 7 ~ Club Smith - Young Defeatists 6 ~ FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten 5 ~ Math The Band - Four To Six 4 ~ BLOXX - Lie Out Loud 3 ~ Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 2 ~ Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500 1 ~ cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work Next it’s Suedehead with ‘White Gold’ by Shangralas! It’s no surprise that this band is from Sheffield as the vocalist could be Alex Turner’s doppelgänger. ‘White Gold’ is a toe tapper for sure with very energetic guitar work going on. Suedey is doing pretty well right now in 12th place. His 12 is given to Moaning, so Bré is now sitting pretty in the top 5! Suede’s 10 goes to Colony House, resulting in a slightly more secure top 10 placement for them. The bronze goes to 20 minute epic ‘Secrets Of Angels’, putting that entry back in second. Suedey ensures that cheerbleederz will not be a nil pointer. Two songs left on 0! Poor Wardy and mysterious other person. He also quintuples my points so I’ll happily take that. SCOREBOARD 1 49 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 2 39 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 3 35 Ellis - Shame 4 31 Moaning - Fall In Love [Bré] 5 30 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten [Chez Wombat] 6 28 Bebe - Malo 7 27 Westerman - Confirmation 8 22 Colony House - You Know It 9 16 Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 10 15 Math The Band - Four To Six 11 15 Club Smith - Young Defeatists 12 14 Shangralas - White Gold [Suedehead2] 13 12 Kasalla - Stadt met K 14 10 Windwaker - My Empire 15 9 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know 16 8 Egoism - What Are We Doing? 17 8 We The Lion - You [Juan Carlos] 18 7 Folkstone - In Taberna 19 6 Summoning - Land Of The Dead 20 6 Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 21 5 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud [Jade] 22 4 Sonata Arctica - Whirlwind 23 3 Dogleg - Fox 24 3 Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500 25 2 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 26 1 DI-RECT - Times Are Changing [Maz!] 27 1 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work 28 0 Alter Bridge - Blackbird [awardinary] 29 0 Club Drive - Spare Time |

Me being the only person who voted for Jade so far (I'm sure it'll pick up though, didn't strike me as a song that would do particularly badly? x)
Thanks Jade for the points in return as well, already have more points than Ought got in total x |

08. Addy was behind…
Bebe - Malo QUOTE 12. Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 10. FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten 08. Alter Bridge - Blackbird 07. DI-RECT - Times Are Changing 06. Club Smith - Young Defeatists 05. Kasalla - Stadt met K 04. Math The Band - Four To Six 03. Windwaker - My Empire 02. Folkstone - In Taberna 01. Westerman - Confirmation Now it’s revealed that Addy is behind ‘Malo’ by Bebe! He’s currently doing very well in 6th place. This is one of our foreign language songs as ‘Malo’ is a Spanish entry. Bebe’s delivery is soft to an extent during the verses, but suddenly both her vocals and the production ramp up significantly during the chorus and create quite an angsty experience. The video sees her performing on stage with a guitar and has a monochrome effect layered over it. Could ‘Malo’ possibly take the crown tonight? If not, then Bebe can still rest easy, as this was nominated for multiple Latin Grammys. Addy awards Larkin Poe 12 points so that shoots up to just outside the top 10. His silver goes to FalKKonE so this Chez entry climbs up to 2nd! Could Chez be a bridesmaid yet again in a song contest? Finally, his bronze goes to Wardy’s entry ‘Blackbird’ so that is now off 0 in style! it’s just Club Drive, the song that opened the contest, waiting for points now. Oops. SCOREBOARD 1 49 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 2 40 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten [Chez Wombat] 3 39 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 4 35 Ellis - Shame 5 31 Moaning - Fall In Love [Bré] 6 28 Bebe - Malo [Addy] 7 28 Westerman - Confirmation 8 22 Colony House - You Know It 9 21 Club Smith - Young Defeatists 10 19 Math The Band - Four To Six 11 18 Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 12 17 Kasalla - Stadt met K 13 16 Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 14 14 Shangralas - White Gold [Suedehead2] 15 13 Windwaker - My Empire 16 9 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know 17 9 Folkstone - In Taberna 18 8 Egoism - What Are We Doing? 19 8 We The Lion - You [Juan Carlos] 20 8 DI-RECT - Times Are Changing [Maz!] 21 8 Alter Bridge - Blackbird [awardinary] 22 6 Summoning - Land Of The Dead 23 5 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud [Jade] 24 4 Sonata Arctica - Whirlwind 25 3 Dogleg - Fox 26 3 Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500 27 2 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 28 1 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work 29 0 Club Drive - Spare Time |

Well... this is going to be interesting to follow honestly. That said, thanks in advance for the people who enjoyed "You" by We The Lion.
As it was previously mentioned, they are a band from my country, which I recently discovered (yeah, the irony if it's considered that they released their debut album four years ago!) and I found that this was a great opportunity to let them know too. Side note: Thank you Maurice! |

09. Riser was behind…
BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know QUOTE Sorry for leaving it so late! Here they are 12 ● Alter Bridge - Blackbird 10 ● Windwaker - My Empire 08 ● Math The Band - Four To Six 07 ● BLOXX - Lie Out Loud 06 ● Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 05 ● Folkstone - In Taberna 04 ● Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 03 ● Club Drive - Spare Time 02 ● We The Lion - You 01 ● Dogleg - Fox Alter Bridge had an unfair advantage for me as I've been listening to them ever since they formed in 2004! Excited to find out who sent them, the whole Blackbird album is amazing Next up it’s Jordan! Who is sorry for leaving it so late but is still as early as the 9th voter. He is behind American band BAILEN, consisting of three siblings, with the song ‘Your Love Is All I Know’. This entry sounds very Fleetwood Mac influenced. Jord is currently sitting in the top 20 with this. He gave 12 points to ‘Blackbird’ and was excited to find out who sent Alter Bridge, well, as we know now - it was Wardy! ‘Blackbird’ had 0 points until the last two votes - where it received two medals in a row. What a turnaround! This entry now sits in the top 15. Jordan’s 10 points go to Windwaker, sending ‘My Empire’ into the top 10. The 8 points also provide Math The Band with a climb into the top 10. Jordan also gives my entry a boost into the top 20, yay! Every song has now received points, as these 3 points to Club Drive lift it off 0. cheerbleederz drop down to last as a result. SCOREBOARD 1 49 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 2 40 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten [Chez Wombat] 3 39 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 4 35 Ellis - Shame 5 31 Moaning - Fall In Love [Bré] 6 28 Bebe - Malo [Addy] 7 28 Westerman - Confirmation 8 27 Math The Band - Four To Six 9 24 Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 10 23 Windwaker - My Empire 11 22 Colony House - You Know It 12 21 Club Smith - Young Defeatists 13 20 Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 14 20 Alter Bridge - Blackbird [awardinary] 15 17 Kasalla - Stadt met K 16 14 Shangralas - White Gold [Suedehead2] 17 14 Folkstone - In Taberna 18 12 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud [Jade] 19 10 We The Lion - You [Juan Carlos] 20 9 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know [Riser] 21 8 Egoism - What Are We Doing? 22 8 DI-RECT - Times Are Changing [Maz!] 23 6 Summoning - Land Of The Dead 24 4 Sonata Arctica - Whirlwind 25 4 Dogleg - Fox 26 3 Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500 27 3 Club Drive - Spare Time 28 2 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 29 1 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work |

Thanks for some points Addy!
To those who faulted my entry due to its many Top 10 albums, this wasn’t a thought when I tried to resubmit after two failed attempts beforehand, but when it was accepted I just thought that was that, I’m sorry if it seems I cheated in any way as I wasn’t trying to bend the rules. Edit: wow thanks Jordan, and again, sorry for any unfair advantage I was inadvertently given. This post has been edited by awardinary: 31st May 2020, 06:46 PM |

10. Izzy was behind…
Sonata Arctica - Whirlwind QUOTE 12 Summoning - Land Of The Dead 10 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 08 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 07 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten 06 Windwaker - My Empire 05 Math The Band - Four To Six 04 Dogleg - Fox 03 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work 02 Folkstone - In Taberna 01 Bebe - Malo If you thought Iz was the one behind the Finnish power metal band… then you’d be absolutely right! Here we have ‘Whirlwind’ by Sonata Arctica. That band name sounds pretty strong - it’s quite amusing that they originally went with the much less powerful sounding Tricky Beans. ‘Whirlwind’ sounds as epic as the band name, with a big chorus and towering guitars. There’s some lovely imagery to be found too like leaves dancing in the wind. They go hard with the wind theme actually, as the song opens with a noise that sounds like the wind blowing. Iz is team #longsongbloc as he awards his 12 to the 13 minute song (rising to the top 15 as a result) and 8 go to the 20 minute one (now sitting in joint 2nd - only 2 points between 1st and 2nd now!). Otherwise, H.E.R.O. slot into the silver medal position and rise to the top 20. Amyl & The Sniffers and Club Drive currently share the last place spot following the cheerbleederz points.
