The new Troye Sivan EP "In A Dream" is released. With “Take Yourself Home” and “Easy” there is already the first foretaste of the highly anticipated EP release. In the EP, the Australian singer / songwriter Troye Sivan describes an emotional roller coaster ride that he felt when he wrote the songs.

Troye recorded the songs with producer Oscar Görres (The Weeknd, MARINA, Tove Lo) just before the lockdown. “Take Yourself Home” fits perfectly into the time we are experiencing through the pandemic. The single enjoyed great success as a result and was trending on # 1 on Twitter.

I wonder why it's an EP and not a full album of new material?

It feels like its getting v. little support from the label... so i assume thats why. Though he's hardly a commercial success.

Tbf he did say on Instagram very early lockdown that he wanted to put music out and he was just going to do it. Perhaps that's it.

1 hour until the EP is out in the UK! Troye played In a Dream (the song) on his Instagram Live earlier and it's a bop *.*

Such a strong EP - my only criticism is that it's too short! Would have loved a full album. STUD pops off so much, and IN A DREAM is fantastic! could cry just thinkin about you deserved a full length version though sad.gif

wub.gif Agreed, the EP is fantastic! All killer tracks.

In a Dream is the highlight song for me. Very infectious, feel-good pop music.gif (in terms of how it sounds at least, the lyrics are actually quite devastating). STUD is a bit of an anthem too! It seems like it's going to be a mellow track but then it morphs into a dance moment~

Love heart.gif

Troye teased that he actually has a full length version of 'could cry just thinkin about you', so hopefully that's something he'll release in the future!

IN A DREAM is fantastic. Already up there with LOST BOY as one of my absolute favourite Troye songs!

How do you know they haven't tried? Sadly I could imagine them choosing to snub Troye at this point.

This feels like... kinda pointless release? I mean why not work it a bit more and release a full album. The title track is awesome though.

I still don't really get why this isn't a proper album but I'm pleased to have new music from him and it's all really strong.
