Cheryl will make #XFactor return (no certainty yet for Louis and Mel B) http://sunpl.us/60184daa

Obviously not official confirmation but there's a strong chance Cheryl will return to The X Factor panel this year.

Posted by: JoeyXCX 10th April 2015, 03:36 PM

Ooh fantastic biggrin.gif I wasn't convinced she'd return at all but this is very promising.

Posted by: THEO. 10th April 2015, 03:44 PM

She's going to be on Britain's Got Talent this year too! ohmy.gif

I think the fact Simon did that using Cheryl's name is pretty much confirmation she's back, he wouldn't do that only to actually sack her next month.

A source claims that while Chezza is returning, it looks like Mel B and Louis Walsh are definitely out.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini will return to the X Factor, it has been claimed.

The most successful female solo artist in British music history - who rejoined the ITV show's judging panel after a four year absence last year - is said to have inked a deal worth £2 million to return.

Chezza's new deal is a pay bump of £500,000 on her last contract, reports the Sun.

However, while Cheryl is said to be thrilled by her new deal, it doesn't look like Spice Girl - and the highest-selling artist on the panel - Mel B or Louis Walsh will be returning.

A source told the newspaper: "Mel and Louis almost certainly aren't re-signing, but Simon knows Cheryl is a huge draw."

The claims come after it was revealed that former judge Tulisa and reality superstar Kim Kardashian were tipped to join the judging panel after bookies slashed their odds on the pair.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has emerged as one of the favourites for the job on the talent show's upcoming 12th series after bookmaker Coral trimmed her odds from 20/1 to just 5/1 following a flurry of bets.

Coral’s Nicola McGeady said: "Punters are hoping Kim Kardashian joins the X Factor line-up after backing her to land the job this afternoon.

"Louis Walsh is still very much in the running to return, but this year the odd suggest his time is up."

The bookie also has Tulisa available at a short price of 6/1 and fellow bookmaker Paddy Power has slashed the former X Factor judge's odds from a huge 33/1 to just 4/1 after significant interest today.

A source told Mirror Online that a number of bets on the 26-year-old beauty getting the job have been placed in shops in and around the Manchester area, as well as online and over the phone.

One punter even wanted to splash out £500 on a bet on Tulisa in a Paddy Power shop at odds of 33/1.

Paddy Power said: "Punters are lumping on Tulisa and catapulted her to become one of the top contenders for this year’s panel. The female boss could be back."

Despite the interest for Kim and Tulisa, both bookies still have Simon Cowell (1/50), Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (4/6) and Mel B (8/11) as the hot favourites to return to the panel.

Louis Walsh is now 4/1 joint fourth favourite alongside Tulisa with Paddy Power, while Coral are more confident he will return to the panel, pricing him at 3/1.

This comes just a week after he hinted he will not be returning for the upcoming series.

Speaking on Irish TV, he said: "I think I'm done with X Factor. I've done 11 seasons.

"That's a long time on television. I think they're going to change the show. I think they're going to get new faces."

One X Factor role which has been confirmed is the presenting spot as last night Caroline Flack and Olly Murs were named as the new co-hosts, replacing Dermot O'Leary, who quit last month after eight years at the helm.

Tulisa was a judge on The X Factor from 2011 to 2012 and she returned as a guest panellist last year for the first night of the week 10 live shows to fill in for an unwell Mel B.

Mirror Online has contacted an X Factor representative.

Seems a certainty now that she is returning again! Who do you want to see on the panel with Cheryl?

Posted by: Apricot 18th April 2015, 02:42 PM

Is that a joke about Kim Kardashian? I'm not being funny but that would be the final nail in the coffin for X Factor.

Posted by: JoeyXCX 18th April 2015, 02:43 PM

laugh.gif Agreed there.

Is it only me who can see the panel actually staying the same? unsure.gif I'm sure Simon would ask Mel B back, and hasn't she said she'd like to return? Plus Louis says he's leaving every year...

Posted by: Jay ジ 18th April 2015, 03:12 PM

I'll be gutted if Mel doesn't do a second year. sad.gif For me she was the best/most entertaining judge last year.

Posted by: FezVez 20th April 2015, 02:56 PM

I definitely want to see both Cheryl and Mel back.

I've favoured a Louis axe year after year so I hope it finally happens this series. Will Young would be a great replacement imo.

Will Young would be a terribly boring judge imo, as would Robbie Williams, so it's annoying that they keep being suggested/rumoured for me.

Tulisa in 2011 = fab
Tulisa in 2012 = draining

If she rejoined the panel she'd need to be the way she was in her first series. She was so negative in the second one and seemingly not very into it. Probably no surprise given who the finalists were, but still... x

Cheryl needs to up her game on last year too. The one highlight I can think of was her poking herself in the face with a straw!

Posted by: JoeyXCX 20th April 2015, 05:19 PM

Never forget heart.gif

I don't think Cheryl was too bad last year, she just wasn't quite at her peak. Tulisa was really draining in her 2nd series though, I agree with Jay.

Basically, Mel B >

Posted by: Calum Hood 20th April 2015, 05:24 PM

Cheryl was awful last year. She didn't do anything of note at all besides moan, and smile when the camera focused on her every few seconds.

Mel B >

You would not be such a fan of her as a JUDGE if you weren't such a Girls Aloud fan.

Tulisa was far more interesting as a TV personality than her in the two years she did (albeit considerably less so in her second year) so yes, i would very much welcome her return.

I will not sit here and allow bashing of the 2008 Cheryl judge. She was the best the show's ever had.

Yes, she wasn't at her best last year but hopefully she will improve! If not, maybe that Girls Aloud reunion will be closer than we think *.*

Posted by: JoeyXCX 20th April 2015, 05:28 PM

Well that's not entirely true, I loved Cheryl during her original stint and I wasn't majorly stanning her or GA at the time (obviously I loved them but they'd taken a back seat really). I've always found her very easy to warm to and a perfect judge for the show, and I felt her absence the following year (as great as Tulisa was for her first series). Obviously I'd love her back for GA stan-related reasons but I'm not quite as blind a stan as you might think heehee.gif (see: Kimberley)

Posted by: Rabbit Froot 20th April 2015, 05:48 PM

Cheryl doesn't do anything memorable at all - if you see articles of highlights of The X Factor, none of them really refer to what Cheryl has done. She also picks the wrong contestants.

Posted by: Calum Hood 20th April 2015, 07:24 PM

The acts she picked to go through to live shows last year... I honestly would've picked the opposite three. And the ones she did choose didn't manage the final. She just doesn't have a clue.

Posted by: JoeyXCX 20th April 2015, 07:28 PM

I think it's a bit far to say she "doesn't have a clue" laugh.gif I don't want to sound like a defensive stan, and Cheryl's four girls weren't exactly my favourites for most of the series, but it was totally fair for her to pick them. In all honesty, no-one in that category really stood much of a chance of being a popstar last year.

Let's not forget Lauren Platt got the best result for a girl in three years. The highest placed girl in 2013 was Tamera Foster in 5th, and 2012 had Ella Henderson in 6th.

Posted by: Sean. 20th April 2015, 07:46 PM

Cheryl was the main reason I started watching again last year to be fair, even if she was a bit under par than what she was during 2008/her premier years!

Cheryl was fabulous in 2008, a breath of fresh air on the panel. In 2009, her act grew a little old, but she was still quite good. It was 2010 when she was awful. Making awful decisions and becoming a parody of herself. 2014 she was just boring and did nothing of note.

Tulisa similarly had a fabulous first year, but her second was quite boring. But I think her second wasn't as good because it became the Nicole Scherzinger show. Tulisa didn't really get a look in and when she did, she came across quite negative. Such a shame.

Posted by: Jay ジ 20th April 2015, 10:28 PM

(0 )(0 ) at Bal's post! I've never claimed that Cheryl was the perfect judge, and if I had to pick between her & Mel B being on the show I'd opt for Mel B!

Cheryl was a brilliant judge in 2008, her acts were spot on and she was a breath of fresh air at the time. However, like April has said, she's got progressively worse with each series she's done and last year she was at her least noteworthy, completely overshadowed by Mel.

I'm not sure if the "You would not be such a fan of her as a JUDGE if you weren't such a Girls Aloud fan." comment was aimed at me, Joseph or both, but I've always considered Girls Aloud/solo artist Cheryl and X Factor Cheryl as two different entities. I've been critical of Cheryl's judging over the years. For instance I thought her lambasting Wagner was a low/hypocritical moment from her.

I personally don't think any of Cheryl's years on the show were as bad as Tulisa's second stint. And that's not to completely put down Tulisa because that second year just showed how great she was in her first year! If she was to return, I hope she'd be as good as she was at the start.

And if the post was all jokes and I've taken it too seriously, then... SCREAMING! heehee.gif

Posted by: Liаm 20th April 2015, 10:47 PM

I wouldn't say I disliked Cheryl at all right now (she did make some very valid points, the other judges seemed to miss - especialy with Jay) but as a whole I can't say I'd be gutted if she wasn't there. She was great during her initial stint although she did lose it a tad in 2010 (I didn't actually mind her choices though, aside from Katie W who wasn't even that bad imo just not as good as Gamu or even Keri/Raquel/Anastasia).

2014 was definitely not as great though, I did love Lauren (when she was on it, I Know Where I've Been and Happy wub.gif) but I think choosing Stephanie (although I think if mentored well she could have been brilliant), Lola (great voice but NO personality) and Chloe (great within her lane but was never going to last) was ridiculous. Tbf though Kerrianne (though I loved her) had week 5 shock at best written all over her and I really didn't get Emily Middlemass AT ALL. But then it was also Cheryl's fault for not putting through the likes of Orla and Monica from bootcamp drama.gif

Wow, so many brackets in a short piece of text laugh.gif

Tulisa wasn't even bad in her second year though... She was completely overshadowed by Nicole because the whole thing literally turned into the Nicole show, so she never had a look in. And when she did, it just so happened she wasn't at her cheeriest. From the VTs alone though you could tell she was extremely passionate about the direction she was going in with her acts, like Ella for example.

I'd certainly say Tulisa's in a far better position to mentor acts on a show like this than Cheryl is.

Really??? Each to their own of course but Cheryl's 12 years in the industry and 9 cumulative #1s (10 if you count Everybody Hurts) say otherwise. Not to discredit Tulisa because I think she is a more than capable judge, but Cheryl has considerably more experience so I'd say she's in a better position...

I'm not sure why this is Cheryl vs. Tulisa anyway, I know I'm a fan of both. I can, however, see *both* have had flaws during their XF stints. And Mel B slays them both kink.gif

YES! 3 out of her 4 years on the show she's had the girls so it would be great to see her get the groups.

Posted by: Calum Hood 21st April 2015, 12:26 PM

Joseph... Cheryl was spoon-fed everything at the beginning. She entered a talent contest, and yes, she had to work each week to get to the end of it, but she had people behind her doing a lot of stuff for her, and ultimately she was just a small fraction of a girl group for however many years. Tulisa's worked her way up to the top from the very bottom most likely with little support. She's done it all for herself.

Tulisa will know what it's like to manage an act in a talent contest and help them become a better artist week on week, because she's put all that hard graft in herself. The only thing Cheryl's truly capable of is giving emotional support because she's 'been in their shoes' (if she cares enough).

I'm sorry but the whole "spoon-fed" thing is really silly, it's something I've always hated people saying because it stinks of the view of "real music" fans. Not criticising you or saying that's you, I just think it's a really weak excuse. Girls Aloud had no manager essentially for a while and had to organise themselves, and still they managed to get hit after hit. You shouldn't discredit someone's work just because they've had assistance for it anyway, and ultimately that's not a factor as to what makes someone a capable judge. In fact, it makes Cheryl a MORE capable judge because she's been through it herself! Tulisa has not been through a talent show, and whilst you don't *need* to have done that to be a judge, it's silly to say she knows what it's like, when she doesn't really.

Sorry Calum but I think it's quite a weak argument you're putting across right now. Cheryl's obviously a capable judge if Simon wants her back tongue.gif

Posted by: Jay ジ 21st April 2015, 06:10 PM

I'm not sure why this turned into a Cheryl v Tulisa stand off anyway unsure.gif I was hardly giving Cheryl a glowing amount of praise before stating I didn't think Tulisa was good in her second year! Not sure why people are getting so defensive!

Can we focus on Mel B please for a moment.

She's bagged a place on the America's Got Talent judging panel for three years running. wub.gif I really hope she does another series of the X Factor but she is doing excellently for herself with the AGT slot anyway.

Well in the nicest way possible... Cheryl doesn't really do much on the panel. She just sits there and looks pretty and my point was theres another version of her going on the panel.

Thy wasn't your point at all. You were being completely ageist and you were picked up over it. I'm 33 bitch and I am far from over.

You left out 'in my opinion...' In your last message because in my opinion she sits there, looks pretty and is awesome in every other way. Rita is great but certainly not another version of Cheryl - unless you're meaning they are both female solo artists... That's where the comparison stops - they are both awesome in their way (in my opinion).

QUOTE
"People think that I have this huge grudge against Cheryl. And granted, I do. I'm p***ed off for various reasons. If you ask me, she is fake as sh*t."

"I just think there's no substance to her. She can be very abrupt and rude. I don't think she's a very nice human.

"My advice to anyone who's going to be on the show would be to f*****g beg to get someone else as mentor."

"I said Cheryl is a prick, and Rita was like, 'Oh, sh*t really?' Because she asked what doing the show was like. I told her I hung out with Simon [Cowell]and Louis Walsh, and Cheryl sat with her Benson and Hedges in her dressing room staring at her diamonds. Rita, if you ever lose Cheryl, that's where she is!"

Katie Waissel slating Cheryl yet again!

Sod off weasel!

Posted by: OutstandingMixer 21st July 2015, 09:38 PM

Katie Waissel should just do one tbh. In fact, she should be licking Cheryl's ass for even putting her in the live shows in the first place.

Posted by: liamk97 22nd July 2015, 02:20 PM

Tbf it's probably a view that a lot of people share but just isn't represented in the news/media because Cheryl has this nation's sweetheart image that they want to keep in tact.

I'm sure Cheryl isn't as bad as she's made out, probably a case of two people who are just too different from each other (or maybe to similar?). I've always liked Katie and thought she spoke a lot of sense.

While, in the other hand, Katie seems to be such a chill and nice human being. laugh.gif

That woman is a joke. Cheryl is the reason why she even got that much airtime on TV. No one else ever believed in her, and no one will ever do.

Yeah that quote from Weasel made me laugh, I mean she's not exactly a superstar herself.

SHe burnt her feet on curling irons...

Everyone said she was making excuses because she didn't want to do crowd stuff.

BTW I was there. I'm not hating.

Cheryl has been promoted to executive producer also for this series! biggrin.gif

Cheryl will mentor the groups this year!

Posted by: JosephBieber 1st September 2015, 06:07 PM

Good choice there, finally she can put her Girls Aloud experience to use biggrin.gif

Shes only said it like twice, once on the show and then again on Twitter, but I am already bored of this "in a group for a decade" card being played drama.gif

Glad she got the groups! Now win the comp!

Who's exctied for this weekend's shows? Hope it's as good as last ones!

Posted by: AdamAloud 4th September 2015, 12:19 PM

I hope the high standard of last weekend continues, it was the best launch show I can remember in a long time.

Posted by: Liаm 4th September 2015, 12:20 PM

I'm glad Cheryl has the groups, she obviously knows how to make a girlband succeed having been in GA and there's already been 4th Power plus there's another really good girlgroup coming up biggrin.gif

I hope she ends up with that Philippine group, the boy band who did "Uptown funk", and an other great girlgroup. That'd be a great and she's going to be great at mentoring groups!

Posted by: Sean. 4th September 2015, 01:05 PM

There is no excuse for her to have one of the girls as a guest at Judges Houses now shes doing the group. Personally I'd like to see her pick Nicola but don't see that happening.

Posted by: Hayzayy 4th September 2015, 02:27 PM

If she needs the help of a girlband friend for judge's house she could always call Nicole kink.gif

Posted by: Hayzayy 4th September 2015, 03:52 PM

Or bring back Mel B laugh.gif

Posted by: Hayzayy 4th September 2015, 05:59 PM

There's a new preview on the X Factor website with a guy looking like Olly ohmy.gif

Posted by: Hayzayy 7th September 2015, 10:15 PM

1D Louis to join the show at judges houses ! There are rumors Cheryl is taking Louis with her but I can't see that happening, please no Cheryl cry.gif

Posted by: AdamAloud 9th September 2015, 01:31 PM

I would rather Louis Walsh.

Posted by: JosephCarey 8th December 2015, 10:10 PM

Not been much discussion of Cheryl in here since the show began, how are we all finding her this series? She's been on top form for me, so much better than last year. She seems full of energy, and her critique has been more insightful for sure. Helps that she quite clearly loves her category too, the groups were an inspired choice.

Posted by: Jonjowman ⛄ 8th December 2015, 11:23 PM

I think she's been good this year. I think thats down to her actually being on a panel with people she feels comfortable with. Her and Rita bounce off each other so well!

I didn't appreciate that she was so obviously biased with her groups though. Although her enthusiasm for RNB is something to be admired, if only she'd shown the same amount for her other acts.

Posted by: Viper* 9th December 2015, 07:09 AM

I have always quite liked Cheryl, I thought her peak was last year with Mel B. Loved their chemistry. Loved that two members of the biggest girl bands in UK history were there together.

Cheryl comes off even better this year because of the lack of credibility on the panel. (Hey Rita. Hey Nick.)

Posted by: SeanGrey 9th December 2015, 06:23 PM

For me Cheryl's got worse and worse as each year has gone on. Loved her at the start but now shes very beige for me.

I don't really get that criticism since to me she's always supported 4th Impact in a big way since audition 1. And Alien was voted off too early to really compare.
