Wasn’t really sure where to post this as it’s been quite a while since her last material! So I suppose it can be used for whenever her next release is, seems like there is something in the works.

*Anyway* Jess has now split from her label Atlantic following disagreements about her future releases, according to The Sun.

QUOTE
ources say she wanted to reinvent herself and move away from radio-friendly songs, while label bosses wanted her to keep producing mainstream pop.

A music source said: “There were a series of discussions and everyone was on a different page.

“Jess felt she had earned the right to control the direction of her music.

“It came down to Jess wanting to produce music that resonates with her over churning out radio-friendly hits. She is keen to reset her career and almost start again after taking time out.”

I think her comeback will perform similarly to how the recent Years & Years material has when it arrives, she's been away for a very long time and since then she's turned the court of public opinion against her with her antics (kind of like Rita Ora)

Plus I can't see her being taken seriously if she's trying to be a "real artist"

^^ All this, and for a huge label like Atlantic that’s had considerable success with her to let her go they obviously had zero faith in whatever she was presenting to them in order to be a ‘real artist’.

Yeah I don't really see there being much of a market for less radio friendly Jess Glynne music, whatever that would even entail.

thing is Jess Glynne's chart success is down to pot luck really... she has a few songs tailored to the general music listener... i don't imagine she has a big fanbase.

Nobody yet it seems.

All the pop girls getting dropped or leaving their labels atm - Mabel, Raye, Jess Glynne

Yeah she’s currently not signed, but the article mentions that there are lots of big labels in talks with her.

She’s been away too long really especially if she plans on coming back with something less commercial sounding.

An flop incoming. I can’t say i’ll be particularly sorry about that- kink.gif

Cannot even imagine what kind of sound she's go for... like Adele or something?
but thats the thing with Jess Glynne, she has zero personality, so we don't even know what music she likes or would do

Is there really a market for ANY Jess Glynn music? God awful voice.

No news sadly, but I noticed she deleted her Twitter and her instagram is blacked out with 0 posts. I guess she’s choosing to keep a low profile which is sensible considering her past. Musically though, I would quite like to see her return, but all signs point to this being a non-event (which would apparently please most of BuzzJack from the comments I read above before posting this).

On another note, I start work for a new company on Monday (working from home), and guess who the unofficial ambassador of the company is (based purely on the music from all their advertisements);

So I guess I will enjoy waking up every day from now on thinking about Jess Glynne! laugh.gif

Back in 2018, the last time I managed to go on holiday abroad, I was grounded at Tenerife airport for the best part of an hour waiting to take off with that sodding Jess Glynne song playing on loop. I never want to hear it again.

As a former employee of Jet 2 that song is forever burned into my brain laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

In regards to a return, I’m unsure what I want from her. I didn’t really mind her too much but quite a few of her tracks do sort of merge into one so I’d be here for something a bit different but can Jess do that. I think she might still get some success if she has some collaborations on there but I think her days of #1 singles and long running albums on the chart are over.

She’s lost a bit of support since her last era as well although I’m not sure if Jess is just one of those artists who’s popular in general to people who don’t really closely follow artists personal lives and just not as popular across music forums laugh.gif

If she’s coming back this year though she should really get something out there before the summer ideally. I think she’ll struggle with another Q4 album release.

Urgh God, twice I've flown with Jet2 and had to endure hearing that on LOOP. And that's before we get to their adverts.

To think I actually liked that song in the beginning.
