So as of now we have a full set of declared songs in semi final one and we should have the last song of the year from Bulgaria on Sunday. In a year as competitive as this year is, simple factors like running order can make a big difference to a country's chances of qualifying/a good result/winning. So, the main purpose of this thread is A) If you were the producer of the show, what order would you put the songs in and B) Once the running order's been confirmed, who do we think are the winners/losers out of it.
Semi-Final One First Half Armenia: Iveta Mukuchyan - LoveWave Croatia: Nina Kraljić - Lighthouse Finland: Sandhja - Sing It Away Greece: Argo - Utopian Land Hungary: Freddie - Pioneer Moldova: Lidia Isac - Falling Stars The Netherlands: Douwe Bob - Slow Down Russia: Sergey Lazarev - You Are The Only One San Marino: Serhat - I Didn't Know Second Half Austria: ZOË - Loin d'ici Azerbaijan: Samra - Miracle Bosnia & Herzegovina: Dalal & Deen feat. Ana Rucner and Jala - Ljubav Je Cyprus: Minus One - Alter Ego Czech Republic: Gabriela Gunčíková - I Stand Estonia: Jüri Pootsmann - Play Iceland: Greta Salóme - Hear Them Calling Malta: Ira Losco - Walk On Water Montenegro: Highway - The Real Thing Semi-Final Two First Half Australia: Dami Im - Sound Of Silence Belarus: IVAN - Help You Fly Ireland: Nicky Byrne - Sunlight Israel: Hovi Star - Made Of Stars Latvia: Justs - Heartbeat Lithuania: Donny Montell - I've Been Waiting For This Night Macedonia: Kaliopi - Dona Poland: Michał Szpak - Color Of Your Life Serbia: Sanja Vučić ZAA - Goodbye (Shelter) Switzerland: Rykka - The Last Of Our Kind Second Half Albania: Eneda Tarifa - Fairytale Belgium: Laura Tesoro - What's The Pressure Bulgaria: Poli Genova - If Love Was A Crime Denmark: Lighthouse X - Soldiers Of Love Georgia: Nika Kocharov and Young Georgian Lolitaz - Midnight Gold Norway: Agnete - Icebreaker Romania: Ovidiu Anton - Moment Of Silence Slovenia: ManuElla - Blue And Red Ukraine: Jamala - 1944 Let the speculation commence! |

Fave thread
Well for semi 1, this is what I would do 01. Armenia 02. San Marino 03. Hungary 04. Greece 05. The Netherlands 06. Russia 07. Finland 08. Croatia 09. Moldova 10. Estonia 11. Bosnia & Herzegovina 12. Montenegro 13. Azerbaijan 14. Austria 15. Czech Republic 16. Cyprus 17. Malta 18. Iceland |

I would order semi one like this
01 Finland 02 San Marino 03 Greece 04 Armenia 05 Moldova 06 Hungary 07 Netherlands 08 Russia 09 Croatia 10 Montenegro 11 Estonia 12 Austria 13 Iceland 14 Azerbaijan 15 Bosnia & Herzegovina 16 Cyprus 17 Czech Republic 18 Malta Justifications: - Open with an uptempo that is well performed but probably isn't going anywhere, so either Finland or Moldova fit those choices. I went with the former since I'd err at Moldova opening the show two years running. - San Marino on 2nd obviously - Iceland on after a break (which is usually between 12 and 13) if they're still going with the projections so the crew can nail the set up - Countries I suspect that they want to help get to the final as best they can so as to keep them in next year as late as possible so Croatia as late as possible and Bosnia/Cyprus/Czech Republic all late - Malta closing becuase it sounds the most 'show closey' - Alternate between styles/tempos as much as possible |

Gosh that second half of semi two is bleak as f***
I can see Iceland and Belgium closing their respective semifinals. Armenia and Lithuania are so opening them tho. Espesh Lithuania and their 1st slot history oops |

They should open Semi 1 with Russia. It's a good starter and, let's face it, it's qualifying wherever it's slotted. I'm worried they will start with Finland and hinder its chances of qualifying.

Here are my predictions for the running orders:
Semi-Final One 01 Armenia 02 Greece 03 Moldova 04 San Marino 05 Finland 06 The Netherlands 07 Russia 08 Croatia 09 Hungary 10 Austria 11 Montenegro 12 Azerbaijan 13 Bosnia & Herzegovina 14 Iceland 15 Estonia 16 Czech Republic 17 Cyprus 18 Malta Going with Armenia as the opener with the obvious "Hey, It's Me" opening line, but if they do go with something "safer" then it'll be Finland. Russia and Croatia should get prime positions thanks to their current odds, and I feel like they will try and push The Netherlands again. I couldn't quite fit Hungary in earlier on as I don't think they'll get a purposeful "pimp" slot, but they could end up with an accidental one. I swapped Czech Republic and Austria around at the last minute, but the former could get the extra push with their Swedish penned song - likewise Cyprus and Malta hence their slots at the end. Then again it could be too obvious to have 3 Swedish songs in a row but when has that stopped Christer. Going with the Iceland after the break too here, banking on the break being a little later due to the extended semi-finals. Can't see Christer bothering to push Montenegro, Azerbaijan or B&H so they are sacrificed. Semi-Final Two 01 Lithuania 02 Switzerland 03 Belarus 04 F.Y.R. Macedonia 05 Poland 06 Serbia 07 Israel 08 Latvia 09 Australia 10 Ireland 11 Slovenia 12 Belgium 13 Ukraine 14 Georgia 15 Albania 16 Romania 17 Norway 18 Denmark 19 Bulgaria Lithuania is the other obvious opener, the only reason they wouldn't be is because they opened last year too - Ireland would be my 2nd choice. Switzerland go in second as the most "forgettable" (although I really like it) female ballad, and then I follow a vague male mid to uptempo, female ballad pattern for the rest of the half. Latvia and Australia to get pushed due to current odds and Ireland having a supposed "big name". In the second half I'm grouping Belgium, Norway and Bulgaria together as female commercial power pop and one will get sacrificed at the beginning of the half which is where I'm going for Belgium as Norway have Scandi ties and Bulgaria are returnees and have very apt lyrics to be the closer of the semi-finals. Going with the male/female alternation again with the rest of the running order with Ukraine bringing some publicity power to that underwhelming run (according to the bookies) of Slovenia to Romania. This is subject to change once Bulgaria's song comes out, but basing this on the lyrics and descriptions we have! |

Just a quick reminder of the running order announcement times in previous years:
Year: HoD meeting -> Running order reveal 2016: Mon 14 March -> ??? 2015: Mon 16 March -> Mon 23 March 2014: Mon 17 March -> Mon 24 March 2013: Mon 18 March -> Thu 28 March History would suggest we'd get the running order tomorrow, but I'm not sure they'll announce the running order before the Bulgarian reveal even though I know the EBU have had Poli's song since last Monday. We should definitely get it in the next five days, I'm thinking Tuesday may be the most likely day. |

Now we have everything from Semi 2 I'd do
01 Ireland 02 Poland 03 Belarus 04 Serbia 05 Lithuania 06 Macedonia 07 Belarus 08 Israel 09 Latvia 10 Australia 11 Denmark 12 Albania 13 Georgia 14 Slovenia 15 Romania 16 Bulgaria 17 Ukraine 18 Belgium 19 Norway I'd initially put Lithuania first but when a lot of the rest of that half has the same kind of mood ant tempo you need them further down to break up songs that are too similar. Norway makes the most sense to me as a closer with a big anthemic feel and Ireland also works as a reasonably uptempo opening. |

As we've yet to receive the running order this is officially the longest wait we've had since the producer running order announcements began, typical Sweden to be annoying yet again - and it is their own record that they've broken!
Hope we get it tomorrow... |

I hadn't even seen Ryan's when I did mine! HOPEFULLY some of these pairings (especially in SF2) will be common sense enough to actually make the cut

If Eurovision.tv pulled the same joke the fanbase would be livid! I can sort of see it being announced tomorrow though with it being the final day of the two to three week period they gave themselves at the delegations meeting, but I presume they'll wait till after midday if so!

Finally!
http://www.eurovision.tv/page/news?id=runn...finals_revealed QUOTE Running order of Semi-Finals revealed
Stockholm, Sweden - Today, the running order of the songs taking part in the Semi-Finals of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest has been revealed. As the previous three years, it was up to the producers of the shows to come up with a running order for the Semi-Finals. It was approved by the EBU Executive Supervisor Jon Ola Sand and the Chairman of the Reference Group, Dr. Frank Dieter Freiling. After the producers reviewed all entries, the following running order was decided on for the Semi-Finals: Semi-Final 1 Armenia Greece Moldova San Marino Finland The Netherlands Russia Croatia Hungary Austria Montenegro Azerbaijan Bosnia & Herzegovina Iceland Estonia Czech Republic Cyprus Malta For this show, the advertising breaks are set to be after the 5th and 13th song. Their positions may still change. Semi-Final 2 Lithuania Switzerland Belarus F.Y.R. Macedonia Poland Serbia Israel Latvia Australia Ireland Slovenia Belgium Ukraine Georgia Albania Romania Norway Denmark Bulgaria For this show, the advertising breaks are set to be after the 5th and 13th song as well. As with the first Semi-Final, their positions may still change. The way to the running order In January, all the Semi-Finalists were drawn into two halves of the two Semi-Finals during the Semi-Final Allocation Draw. All the already qualified finalists will vote in the following Semi-Finals: First Semi-Final France Spain Sweden Second Semi-Final Germany Italy United Kingdom After all the songs were submitted to the organisers at the Heads of Delegations Meeting a few weeks ago, the producers decided upon the running order which was then approved by the Executive Supervisor Jon Ola Sand and the Chairman of the Reference Group, Dr Frank Dieter Freiling. During the Heads of Delegations meeting it was also drawn that the host country of Sweden will perform at position no 9 in the Final. The running order for the Grand Final will be decided after the second Semi-Final. The first Semi-Final will be held on the 10th of May and it has 18 participants while the second one with 19 contestants takes place on the 12th of May. The big Final of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is on the 14th of May. |
