Are there any memorable last appearances from a sportsman that made their final appearance before retiring that you remember well and why?

I mean obviously I remember Usain Bolt's final relay but unfortunately not for the right reasons sad.gif

The first Tour de France I watched (2014) was Jens Voigt's last appearance and I remember him breaking away on the first stage and riding into the final km in the Paris stage.

Alex Ferguson's last game as manager. 5-5 against West Brom was kind of memorable

I'm guessing you mean voluntary retirement too, as there have been some very memorable career ending injuries over the years

Stephen Hendry making a 147 in his final World Championship was pretty special, plus he beat John Higgins 13-4 in the following round.

Not so good was his final match in the QF though, losing 13-2 to Maguire.

Darts fans would probably say Phil Taylor's run in last year's World Championship final.

Still very much is. No one will ever know if France would have won that game had he still been on the pitch. And I remember at the time materazzi received more of the backlash!
