The Spice Girls incredibly managed 3 in a row Christmas Number 1 singles from 1996-1998.
All 3 are wonderful ballads that still sound good today proving they were worthy Christmas Number 1's despite that they actually weren't Christmas Songs.
Which of the 3 songs do you like best?

I'm Team '2 Become 1' as well. I remember my sister getting the cassette of it for Christmas 1996, and even now hearing it or the orchestral version that was the B-side (we played it over and over that Christmas Day) takes me back to being seven years old. The video is one of my favourites too.

That said, I have a soft spot for 'Too Much'. It was the main song from 'Spiceworld: The Movie', so beautifully laidback and melodic, and Melanie C's vocal performance on it is spine tingling.

Got to be 2 become 1. However Too Much is creeping closer and closer all the time. When I was younger it was my least favourite but it has well and truly overtaken Goodbye over the years. I feel like it get's better and better everytime I hear it.

I love '2 Become 1', I'd still listen to it loud and proud nowadays. It's so unique as a ballad with dance influences.

There must be a name for 90's beat it's got going on. Is it trip-hop? Whatever it is, it's amazing.

They're all strong though. 'Goodbye' has dreamy vocals and still feels very sincere and moving. And 'Too Much' is slick and stylish.

I've gone for 'Too Much'! It wasn't initially a Spice fave but has grown on me exponentially over the years. I love how sultry yet classy it is. Of course it always gives me Spiceworld: The Movie flashbacks too whenever it comes on heart.gif '2 Become 1' is second and 'Goodbye' a distant third.

Never got into too much all that much myself and would be one of their weaker singles for me. A friend of mine who wasn't a spice girls fan at all loved it and from what I remember was the only spice girls release he ever bought.

2 become 1 has slowly become a Christmas staple on radio and tv this last few years, I expect that to be even bigger this year because of the reunion. They could so add some jingle bells to 2 become 1 and it be on the top of every Xmas playlist and it would only add sales to 2 become 1's total.

I can appreciate 2B1 but it has never been one of their songs I would choose to listen to. Too Much however holds up so well even 21 years later. From the intro (also used brilliantly as the intro to their film) to Mel C's powerhouse vocals!

2 Become 1 is the better song, but Too Much has indeed become quite timeless over the years. It has matured well as a song and I love it. Mel C really shines on that one and I love her renditions solo.

Having said that, I don't think they *ever* did the song justice live. It was always a bit 'meh' during the Spice World in Wembley gig and I was also not in love with the remix on the Return Tour. It just seemed a bit forced imo...

2 Become 1 and Goodbye are Emma's masterpieces in the group. She owns those songs. Goodbye is third in this, unfortunately. It is a stunning song, one of their best and I think it deserves better love than what it gets (it's lack of sales and streams over the past few years is criminal!). The only fault I would give it is that it is very much a late 90s balad, not as timeless as the other two.

Anyway, long way to say that 2 Become 1 gets my vote, Too Much is second and Goodbye is third. Lol

Too much is my least favourite Spice girls single, it's bellow LLLTW and Headlines for me. Even as a kid it bored me a bit, it's by no means bad and an 8 out of 10.

I really wish Viva Forever had been released as the 1997 Xmas single. The extra exposure it would get nowadays would be so welcome.
