Another new week, another new #1, as HAIM move to the top spot this third week of March. The smooth summery pop rock You Never Knew becomes their second chart topper from sophomore effort Something To Tell You and sixth overall, tying them with Lana Del Rey for the most chart toppers on my charts. Kendrick/SZA, Rae Sremmurd's Powerglide, Tinashe's No Drama and Krewella's New World ascend into the top 5. Femme En Fourrure's Ride remains the only multi-week #1 thus far this year, no song has really dominated 2018 yet for me.

Highest new entries this week go to Cheat Codes/Kiiara - which seems to be getting a mixed reception on here but I like it a lot! Not being a previous Cheat Codes fan helps, for me it's just great to see Kiiara getting a high-profile boost. AlmA and Tove Styrke also debut top ten, AlmA's first, again, her mixtape Heavy Rules is to me the best thing she's done so far while others don't seem to be as big fans. Other new entries this week come from Sigala and Paloma Faith, Diplo and Santigold, Kehlani, Leikeli47, Little Dragon, Khalid and Normani, Eminem, ASTR, Camila Cabello, Flight Facilities and Jorja Smith. Coincidentally a few of those artists have been sent to this month's BJSC, good taste!

Those will be linked a bit later on in the week to save you hunting for them, so check back to see those, and feel free to peek at my (linked) weekly playlists in the meantime.

Thanks for commenting! Yes, IDGAF has actually out-peaked New Rules on my personals, as shocking as that may be on BuzzJack!

And here are this week's new tunes:

First up, dancebloc. A new highest charter for both Cheat Codes and Kiiara, a 7th top 20 for Paloma Faith with Sigala, already outpeaking her Sigma collab Changing, the surprising return of Santigold a decade into her career and just about a decade after her career peak, alongside Diplo, and a first top ten for AlmA alongside Tove Styrke who hasn't had one since 2014. Flight Facilities also make a return with the several-months-bubbling-under Arty Boy (Manila Killa Remix):

Jorja Smith, Camila and Khalid fly the flag for pop bloc...

while Em and Leikeli47 make an unusual pair to rep rap this week. The latter makes an appearance in this month's BJSC and I kinda hope she doesn't do too well as I'd been planning to send another of her songs this year!

Over in the alt camp, Lana's Summer Bummer re-enters as I suspected last year it would, outpeaking its 2017 peak of #30 upon album release. The moody midtempo tune sounds much better in the cooler weather outside somehow than it did in the sun. Little Dragon chart another new one from their surprise 2018 EP follow-up to 2017 album Season High, the band are regular releasers but usually follow about a three year cycle between putting out new material. Finally for this week, ASTR return after a two year gap with Ritual, and Kehlani grabs another entry alongside Swedish artist Cherrie with a nice bilingual bop, a subgenre which I'm finding myself dipping into more this year than I used to. Diversity!

And that's the lot for this week. Cheers for reading and following, and feel free to comment away if you have burning thoughts or things you fancy bringing up!
