In what universe would "Shut Up And Dance" and "Earned It" be worse than THAT version of "Lay Me Down"? And even with that, there's still a bunch of crap in the top 100. Buzzjack is shameless. The penalisation of long-runners here is very punishing. Quite upset to see Shut Up And Dance that low, literally the best top 10 hit of the year for me. |

100. AVICII - THE NIGHTS (-188 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 5 OCC PEAK: 6 (1wks) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 9 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 6 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 20 POSITIVE VOTES: 63 NEGATIVE VOTES: 112 RUN: 8-9-9-8-9 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -37.6 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 55 Starting off the top 100 is the artist Dan keeps sending me on SongPop, whose output I know not too much about, apart from the stuff that hits the charts such as this, Wake Me Up Pt. III. Keeping the electro-country theme going, this song isn't band by any means but fails to provide anything new or innovative from Avicii. 99. JAMES BAY - HOLD BACK THE RIVER (-171 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 8 OCC PEAK: 2 (1wks) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 7 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 6 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 20 POSITIVE VOTES: 63 NEGATIVE VOTES: 112 RUN: 6-7-6-5-6-7-7-9 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -21.375 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 64 James Bay has two entries this year, and it's the biggest unsurprisingly that lands itself here, with longevity going against it in Reshuffle. The song itself is great as background music and the chorus is OK, it is a bit puzzling why it did get so huge. The only problem with me are the lyrics which I initially believed where a metaphor you know for holding back a river a tears, but the verses don't correlate well with that interpretation, also he does fall on the lazy indie cliche, of having a verse full of sounds, rather than a proper verse. It's not used in the main chorus tho, like a lot of other artists. |

98. CHRIS BROWN &. TYGA - AYO (-167 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 2 OCC PEAK:6 (1wk) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 10 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 3 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 34 POSITIVE VOTES: 19 NEGATIVE VOTES: 53 RUN: 10-X-10 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -83.5 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 15 Managing to avoid the Bottom 10 this year for a change is Chris Brown & Tyga, who joined teams (Yay?) for an album, and this was the biggest hit from hit. When Chris Brown started out, I actually quite liked him, "With You" & "Forever" are tunes, but his music has decreased dramatically in quality year on year. If you took out the references to "F***in Bitches" and being "N***as" this song would just consist of the title, which has already been done before anyway. |

97. ONE DIRECTION - PERFECT (-158 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 4 OCC PEAK: 2 (1wk) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 9 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 3 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 22 POSITIVE VOTES: 34 NEGATIVE VOTES: 68 RUN: 8-8-X-10-8 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -39.5 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 61 Another act who usually hang around the bottom of the YE Chart, One Direction broke records and snatched weaves this year with "Perfect" as it became their ninth #10 song, one more than Chris Brown giving them the honorory title of flops of the Reshuffle Chart. The song itself is decent, which they have been largely since "Best Song Ever", the song does fall into their pitfall of addressing their songs to "you", so as their fans can put themselves in their lyrics, but at the cost making their music more generically appealable. Although this time they're not saying you're beautiful even with your hideous flaws, they want a one-time f**k, and honestly I'm down with that. 96. R. CITY FT. ADAM LEVINE - LOCKED AWAY (-152 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 5 OCC PEAK: 2 (2wks) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 9 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 4 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 18 POSITIVE VOTES: 47 NEGATIVE VOTES: 87 RUN: 9-9-9-8-9 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -30.4 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 54 Here we have Adam Levine again this time doing something quite unexpected in being the best thing about a song. Seriously, the hook is what got this song into charts, radio etc. R. City's verses are like a poor man's Shaggy but all together they produce a whole lullaby-reggae effect which sits nice on the ear. |

95. HOZIER - TAKE ME TO CHURCH (-151 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 15 OCC PEAK: 2 (4wks) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 6 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 39 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 49 POSITIVE VOTES: 232 NEGATIVE VOTES: 280 RUN: 4-4-5-6-4-7-6-7-7-9-5-6-7-8-8 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -30.4 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 98 Perhaps my favourite song of the year has tumbled out at #95, and I blame overplay because everything on this song works for me. The complex lyrics, passionate vocal and one of the best soul hooks of the 2010s. Y'all monsters. |

94. KREPT & KONAN FT. JEREMIH - FREAK OF THE WEEK (-150 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 15 OCC PEAK: 9 (2wks) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 10 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 2 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 21 POSITIVE VOTES: 19 NEGATIVE VOTES: 53 RUN: 10-10 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -75 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 22 Next is a song which predictably came 10th both weeks it was eligible for the chart, it's hard to write a review for some of these songs without ignoring the misoginy engrained in the lyrics, like this woman exists solely as body parts and is made sure to be the narrator's exclusively even tho she's only the "freak of the week", but if you can get past that you've got a mediocre somewhat catchy hip hop song, with really weak rapping. 93. SKRILLEX & DIPLO FT. JUSTIN BIEBER - WHERE ARE Ü NOW (-132 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 7 OCC PEAK: 3 (1wk) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 7 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 9 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 24 POSITIVE VOTES: 98 NEGATIVE VOTES: 135 RUN: 8-8-8-5-6-6-6 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -18.8571 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 58 Even tho Skrillex & Diplo are the main artists on this track, the most obvious thing to comment on in this track is how Justin Bieber turned into a UK Mainstream hit darling, obviously not to the extent he dominated the last part of the year. This song is him choosing a different more laid back vocal and working with Skrillex and his great production. For me, the main selling point of Bieber is A) his name and B) production to his songs. Not to rag on Justin as I do believe he's talented but it's all about Skrillex this song and to a milder extent, so is the later succes of Justin. 92. RACHEL PLATTEN - FIGHT SONG (-121 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 5 OCC PEAK:1 (1wk) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 9 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 18 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 19 POSITIVE VOTES: 58 NEGATIVE VOTES: 101 RUN: 7-8-9-9-10 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE 27 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 29 22 songs in and we have our first female led song of the chart, does it deserve the mantle of the suckiest? Yes, yes it does. I know a lot of people like this song, but it really is just appealing to the lowest common denominator. Inspirations anthems do well, I'll write one. I'll call it "Fight Song", great so what are you fighting against? Erm... does it matter. Well, apparently not. |

91. AVICII - WAITING FOR LOVE (-119 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 2 OCC PEAK: 6 (1wk) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 9 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 8 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 16 POSITIVE VOTES: 18 NEGATIVE VOTES: 52 RUN: 9-9 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE 68 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 68 Oh dear, Avicii's taken a bit of a tumble on Reshuffle and indeed somewhat on the charts, I think the main reason why is the shift in sound in 2015 focusing on more darker songs and production whilst Avicii's sound is more joyous and true to EDM, I actually really like the song for this reason with all the dubstep breaks and darker dance songs on the charts this one came as somewhat as a relief. I'm posting the official lyric video instead of the regular one as it's awesome. |

Ayo is horrific, and is the worst to have made the top 10 this year. Freak Of The Week and Where Are Ü Now are also terrible. And Waiting For Love is awful.
Hold Back The River, Perfect, Take Me To Church and Fight Song are all great though! |

The Nights, Locked Away, Where Are U Now (I gave that one six of its nine +5's lol) & Waiting For Love - what an incredible section!
At least some awfulness in the shape of Hozier & James Bay has departed. |

Hozier and James Bay departing so early is predictable but disappointing. I think I gave them a lot of +5s but clearly not enough.

90. ONE DIRECTION - DRAG ME DOWN (-117 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 2 OCC PEAK: 1 (1wk) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 10 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 3 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 19 POSITIVE VOTES: 18 NEGATIVE VOTES: 44 RUN: 9-10 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -58.5 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 52 Another 1D single falls by the wayside, leaving just "History" left in the countdown, can it repeat the success of "Kiss You" their only song to date to finish on a positive score (including "Night Changes", which should have because it's by far their best). The song itself seems more like a OneRepublic song to me in terms of tone, although it makes a nice change for them to sing a song about a family member rather than a love interest. Which I'm assuming by the way, since they say "all my life, you loved me", otherwise that's one sick relationship. |

89. STEVIE MCCRORIE - LOST STARS (-114 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 1 OCC PEAK: 6 (1wk) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 10 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 0 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 11 POSITIVE VOTES: 2 NEGATIVE VOTES: 29 RUN: 10 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -114 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 42 We've come to the lowest scoring one-weeker in the countdown, not just receiving no "+5"s put no "+4"s or "+3"s and only one "+2" and "+1" apiece. The winner's single from Stevie, winner of this year's The Voice did better than the previous efforts. Not 100% sure why, I mean I don't think the song's awful by any means, but it is dull and is hardly a showcase for someone's voice. |

88. FLO RIDA FT. ROBIN THICKE & VERDINE WHITE - I DON'T LIKE IT, I LOVE IT (-112 POINTS) WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 2 OCC PEAK: 7 (2wks) RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 10 AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 2 AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 7 POSITIVE VOTES: 14 NEGATIVE VOTES: 50 RUN: 10 AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -56 LEONARDO'S RATING OUT OF 100 35 Flo Rida's another one who's no stranger to a lower billing on this list. There's no skirting around the fact that this song's a mess at least lyrically what the hell are they referring to in the title, sex? That's usually what Flo Rida and Thicke sing (/rap?) about, and indeed Flo's verses seem to be the ever popular 95% bragging, 5% banging what he's used to but the song's frustrating to put a message to so just enjoy Verdine White and the production which is cheery and upbeat like a McDonalds jingle. Definitely the song's saving grace. |

Avicii is too low yay for Hozier and Walk the Moon being out already, both stayed in the chart for far too long.
