Taking full advtantage of a quite week on the charts, Motorhead fans head a campaign to get Ace of Spades to #1 following the death of frontman Lemmy in hope of dethroning the various Biebers at the top of the chart.
As far as albums concerned, could Adele be kicked off the top spot by Elvis? Rachel Platten also releases, with a hopes of cracking the top 40 with her album Wildfire.

Friday?
I'm seriously hoping Rachel manages top 20 this week.
Ace of Spades at #2 according to @MintRoyale
Wildfire to SLAY please
#2 really??? how come???
Also the fact that the Saturday mid update doesn't include any streaming. But I'm surprised it is as high as #2 all the same. It'll probably drop a fair bit by the Monday mid update but at this rate it could re-enter the top 40 officially.
I think the Elvis album being a fiver this week will possibly put an end to Adele's reign at No 1
It would be amazing to have Motorhead at No 1 in the singles chart!!!!
Where is the link that Adele is #1 please
I was predicting Bieber would have #1 album this week but probably not then.
Bieber's all 3 singles are likely to reach a million. Has anyone had 3 songs from same album to achieve that?
It will most likely be 4 singles from the same album if you include Where Are You Now
My main concern is why haven't OCC published EOY charts yet for 2015?
I'm hoping Sigma coming home can reach a top 10 position soon.
They'll probably be released tomorrow, with all the staff back in off their Christmas break.
Lots of data missing yesterday as Motörhead have taken a tumble!
I just hope Motörhead can scrape the top 40. If they miss it, it will be the campaigners fault for not telling people to stream the song
I really hope Adele can hold number 1, i dont want to see Elvis back at number 1. I hope Adele holds on for a few weeks yet. Sales will be low this week all round i think.
I hope Elvis can catch Adele with streaming so we can see the first album reach #1 due to streaming
Streaming figures for If I Can Dream are close to zero.
Streaming is very ageist. Most older people do not use streaming or downloads and prefer physical copies for their collections. Some haven't even got a computer.
If it were just sales, artists like Elvis and Cliff Richard would be No.1 more often.
Brian
The sales chart says otherwise
... and you can also say that the physical sales chart is "ageist" but towards another social group?
Motorhead #9 today
Motorhead at 9 in the chart update. I'd say it's safe for top 30 on Friday!

Does anyone else get bored of the OCC fishing for clicks and presenting facts in certain ways to make things seem more compelling sometimes? Like this week they are saying Elvis is closing in on Adele, as he is 4k behind at this stage compared to 6k last week, where as at this stage they have probably only sold 25-30k so a 4k gap is actually percentage wise bigger than a 6k gap with them selling 70-75k.
It's their job to make the chart more exciting so I don't see anything bad in those tricks!
I'm quite surprised to see Shine back in the top 40, but please hold on to get a 14th week in the top 40!
History
Music Week sales added.
Album sales are much higher than i expected. Singles, however, are extremely low.
Adele on for around 40k then? Not too bad. Hopefully she'll remain steady with "When We Were Young" rising and get a big boost from her BRITS performance next month.
Can justin do the 1-2-3?
Oh wow, singles sales are set for a MAJOR slump, down to less than 70k for #1 perhaps.
No matter what's in front of them, Little Mix seem to have become a permanent fixture at #6 in the album charts.
I like the tracks in the top 5, but the top 5 and even top 10 could do with a good shake-up. Thank god for Shawn this week.
I can see 99 Souls with a chance of going top-10 too instead of Motorhead! But maybe Fleur will remain above them and get that #10. Although she's lower in iTunes and on Spotify at the moment.
I really hope Motorhead can at least stay high enough to get a chart show play on Friday, that would be amazing <3
Those figures are underwhelming. Are streams included?
do you know how much get weird and love me like you has sold?
judging by Spotify's figures Love Yourself has dropped quite a bit relative to December, think he'll do 35k on downloads and 35k more on streaming
and LOL at Rachel being called Country
Take That back up to number 50 in the album chart
Singles chart is boring at the moment, the Justin Bieber dominance has become very boring now. Hopefully some new releases come soon and shake the chart up. It would be wonderful if Little Mix Love Me Like You Do could make the top 10 as it has come so near, but like Kiss Me by Olly Murs, number 11 looks like its peak.
Has no one noticed the error of what is at #25 on the albums?
David Guetta, Snakehips and Major Lazer to all stay T40 please
And a T40 re-entry for Years & Years' "Shine" would be pretty sweet too.
Just wondering is there any paticular reason 19 amd 21 are having such bigger jumps 25 is nearly 2 months old now has she performed any of her older songs on these newer specials or just because tge chart is selling lower overall
has Rachel Platten done any promo for the album or the 2nd single in the UK????
would love it if 99 souls sneak into the top10 this week~
It's also strange to see no albums jumping up the chart in the January sales like usually happens. The whole top 5/10 is basically static!
Craig David is never going to make the Top 40 and disappointed to see Birdy at #66
Will the album sales be back up after last week's dip?
years and years- shine and eyes shut positions please
Rachel's album is too good to flop
I knew justin had a shot, will be incredible achievement.
We have proper midweeks for the first time in ages. Give me 10 and i'll do an update.

Absolutely incredible for Bieber.
Do we know many sales behind #5 'Stitches' is?
Any info on Made In The A.M. and History?
The top 40 still looks dead in terms of lack of new releases
Justin top-three-ber tho *.*
Grace is so close. Such a tune
Do we know Birdys position,is she having a chance for top 40 this week
at Bieber having all Top 3 singles.
Good to see Motorhead looking to go Top 20 at least though!
Sigma/Rita are reminding me of what Blonde's 'I Loved You' did last January by bounding up the chart again by just having stable sales in a time of declining sales rather than having big increases exactly. Would be nice if it could reach a new peak.
Is 99 souls far from top 10 in sales?
Where's Snakehips? Surely that can't not be top 40 with it's iTunes & streaming positions during the week
How can "Lean On" be on course to re-enter and "All My Friends" is not on course to enter the top 40 when "All My Friends" is a bit behind on streaming and way ahead on sales?
Does Get Weird has a chance to enter the top 5 this week?
Snakehips must be somewhere in that update, no?
They were #33 in the first mids and are now all the way up to #13 on iTunes and into the top 30 on Spotify, so it could only have risen.
I left off Snakehips, sorry my mistake. I've added it in now
Great to see Motörhead looking to most likely go top 30 despite minor streams
Thank you.
#30 is good. With it at #28 on streaming and #13 on sales, I'm thinking it is likely to chart in the top 25 this week, which I would be thrilled with.
Thanks joe
I'm assuming LMLY is #20/21?
If Justin Bieber has the entire Top 3 Singles on Friday, it will be the 1st time ever that any Act has managed that.
It has also never been managed, by any Act, in the UK Album Charts.....
Any chance for 99 Souls to enter the top 10? (assuming no)
It's looking very likely that 99 Souls will be top 10 by Friday.
If Justin Bieber didn't exist, Hello would be about to get its 9th week at #1, a run broken only by Sigala and the NHS choir. Not that that means very much when sales will be so low this week, but it's still impressive!
I'd really like these Bieber tracks to go away though, at least from the top 10, the end of the chart show isn't even interesting any more, regardless of what I think of the songs...
But there are people who will never be tired of Sorry and Love Yourself
I'm really willing him to get the entire top 3 this week just for statistic purposes, but he can go away after that as far as I'm concerned.
I'm surprised "Lean On" is on course to re-enter the top 40 and "Stay" isn't on course to enter, despite "Stay" being ahead on both iTunes and Spotify
Hi is Ben Haenow's album anywhere near the Top 40 please?
i hope mendes kicks bieber's behind and take a spot in top 3...
do you know how close little mix are to top 5?
Is secret love song top 100?
Grace doing absolutely astonishing for a song released over half a year earlier in Australia and a surprise hit over here - deserves to be praised as much as Adele and Bieber's success.
A run of 44-5-5-4-6-5 on the main chart, but its Sales run is even better - 18-4-3-3-3-4!
Does anyone know Craig David's yesterday position?
How is Ellie Goulding Army doing? ta
So Adele is currently tied with Madonna, with 30 weeks spent at #1 in the UK album charts.
If Adele stays at #1 this week, she will hold the record for the most weeks at #1 by a female artist.
bieber!
I like Bieber, but I don't like how streaming has SUCH value in the chart, how a track can jump 10+ poisitions from it, or fall massively. (It's really going to affect Taylor Swift's singles in the future, she could sell a #1 single, but it'd probably just break the official top 10, people are likely to cry flop who don't understand the chart. Or Imagine if her single was just a good 'top 5' sales hit, It'd likely to chart at like #25)
So I'm hoping Shawn Mendes actually manages to scrape into 3, because I don't believe him having this #1,#2,#3 record is deserved, when so many in the past would have likely to have broken the same record had streaming been available and had such an impact then. Although it's going to be close, Adele may even fall out of the top 5, with Grace overtaking? Hello is falling fast on itunes, it's an exciting week for the chart.
#1 - Justin Bieber - Love Yourself
#2 - Justin Bieber - Sorry
#3 - Shawn Mendes/Justin Bieber
#4 - Shawn Mendes/Justin Bieber
#5 Grace/Adele
I'm going to predict Shawn will get the #3, and Grace will get the #5, pushing Adele out of the top 5. But who knows!
Also will be good to see if Little Mix are able to chart with the surge of sales
Sorry has only left the T2 once (X-mas week)
Little Mix won't be top 40 until next week. They'll be about #55 max this week.
Bieber's campaign is quite odd coz everyone seems to be talking about (and loving) 'Sorry'. But 'Love Yourself' is the one that's doing bigger things!
I can't stand Bieber and don't get his current popularity and domination of the charts at all. There is far better music around than his tripe.
Top 3 singles by Bieber, DAMNNN!!

Loads of good news in the chart this week then Justin locking out the top 3, Shawn potentially coming for #4 (#5 at least), 99 Souls going top 10, Years & Years going top 20 and Major Lazer coming for a top 25 play
Imagine if Adele had put her album up for streaming the week of its release, surely she would have had the top 5 in singles sewn up that week.
If everything sold the same tomorrow (not likely but it's good for an estimate) we'd be looking at:
1-3. Justin
4. Shawn (~500 above Adele, and he's ahead on streaming now so will push him ahead again slightly)
10. 99 Souls
17. Years & Years
22. Major Lazer
27. Snakehips
29. David Guetta
37. Craig David
Hopefully Craig David can finally break the Top40 tomorrow giving how he's done on iTunes at the moment.
Good to see Motorhead should go op 20 at least tomorrow!
Years & Years looking at top 20 then!
The song has grown on me slightly in recent times.
oh Craig David in!!!!!!
What about History and Made In The A.M? Both at #7? (any info on sales, tho?)
Was expecting "Lean On" to fall seeing as it's falling on iTunes and Spotify. Hopefully Craig David will overtake them tomorrow. Really want X Ambassadors to smash the top 40
Hmm... I wonder if Elvis could overtake Adele next week?
[/whydon'ttheUKloveAdele]
Will be the lowest selling #3 in some time, surely?
I wonder if 99 Souls will peak at #10 too, much like The Ladyboy Is Mine by Stuntmasterz in 2001 *.*
any idea where Elle King and X Ambassadors are just out of interest?
Are One Call Away or Touch top 100?
Yet another request post (sorry guys )
Is Birdy still in the top 75, and have Foxes or Jason Derulo managed to enter the top 100?
Is there any chance of Ben Haenow making the Top 40 albums this week pls guys?
I'm not surprised at the drop for Adele - She sold a mind blowing amount in such a short amount of time that a deep decline was always going to happen especially as there is nothing to motivate new buyers (No promo, New single etc,) - I'm guessing her next promo slot will be The Brits - Disappointing she has done hardly anything for it in the UK.
Let's face it, it's not like Adele really *needs* to promote She's had a BBC special dedicated to her and an X Factor final performance, that's pretty amazing promo anyway, plus the BRITs.
Not that anyone cares anymore but Louisa Johnson in her 4th week is down to #123. Even Sam Bailey managed to hang on to a Top 40 place (#23) in her 4th week.
TOTAL sales so far: 88,038 including 486 yesterday. Almost 1K in CD sold this week though so unbelievably going to be the physical chart #1 for a 4th week!
Do we have any sales data for the difference between James Bay and Little Mix on the album chart? Thanks
I thought Apple Music accounted for more of the market too - Seems with dying downloads Apple need to up their game on streaming?
Disappointed that Birdy has dropped - Hope this can become a steady climber over the coming weeks.
