QUOTE Oh well, Motorhead's dance near the top of the charts seems to have finished a bit too early. Will Minty ever come to grips with the fact streaming data is always missing on a Saturday? |

I'm hoping Sigma coming home can reach a top 10 position soon.

Patience is a virtue they will appear at some point, we are only 3 days into 2016, they have to make sure everything is correct, after last year's fiasco The data is already there, Alan Jones stated that it is 'embargoed' at the moment. Not sure what they're waiting for really as there is no broadcast of the chart planned. |

They'll probably be released tomorrow, with all the staff back in off their Christmas break.

They'll probably be released tomorrow, with all the staff back in off their Christmas break. It's never been a problem in previous years though has it? And they managed to publish all their weekly charts on Christmas Day and New Years Day. It's all very odd. It's a shame they couldn't do a 3 hour YE chart in the traditional Sunday slot today This post has been edited by AcerBen: 3rd January 2016, 04:53 PM |

I just hope Motörhead can scrape the top 40. If they miss it, it will be the campaigners fault for not telling people to stream the song

I just hope Motörhead can scrape the top 40. If they miss it, it will be the campaigners fault for not telling people to stream the song I know - They have almost encouraged people not to stream - Even though the conversion from streams into sales is low it helps when people do get behind streaming that have no intention of downloading the song! I think they will be safe for Top 40 - Just! This post has been edited by ___∆___: 3rd January 2016, 06:00 PM |

The Beatles I can think of but otherwise no. Maybe Pharrell should release a greatest hits? The Beatles didn't go around releasing lots of singles from their albums though. Their only studio album with three singles on it is Help!, and one of those was released over ten years later. I don't think compilations really count do they? |

I really hope Adele can hold number 1, i dont want to see Elvis back at number 1. I hope Adele holds on for a few weeks yet. Sales will be low this week all round i think.

I hope Elvis can catch Adele with streaming so we can see the first album reach #1 due to streaming I would be astonished if Adele was caught by Elvis - if he couldn't do it last week, on the back of very advantageous price cuts, I can't see it happening. I can't imagine Elvis generating much in the way of streams anyway. This post has been edited by vidcapper: 4th January 2016, 12:10 PM |

Streaming is very ageist. Most older people do not use streaming or downloads and prefer physical copies for their collections. Some haven't even got a computer.
If it were just sales, artists like Elvis and Cliff Richard would be No.1 more often. Brian |

... and you can also say that the physical sales chart is "ageist" but towards another social group?
