Shakespears Sister are back after 26 years with a new single 'All the Queen's Horses' out 15th May - and a new tour.

It will be performed for the first time on this friday's Graham Norton Show.

No word on an album yet.

that's great, used to love them back in the day, their debut is very under-rated and has great tracks

They're also released a singles collection called "Singles Party" I believe, so I think this is a part of it.

There was also a trailer posted on London Records Youtube:

I can't believe no one thought to call their Greatest Hits that before!

I'm pretty sure Siobhan is on a mission to briefly dip her toes into all her past projects.

Siobhan is in revisiting the past and visiting where she was successful.
First Bananarama and now Shakespears Sister.

C U Next Tuesday? Wonder if that is the Spice Girls song from Spice sessions?

How about no.

Including the huge hit singles ‘Stay’, ‘You’re History’, 'I Don’t Care’ and ‘Hello- Turn Your Radio On.’

they're trying to over-sell it a bit, Stay was a huge huge hits, the others were hits but barely huge, especially Hello, which wasn't even top 10

Well, what are they supposed to say? "Includes huge hit Stay, a bunch of sorta-hits that no one really remembers and a bunch of singles that didn't even bother the charts! Buy it now pls" pirate.gif

Posted by: Bjork 8th May 2019, 09:19 AM

including the #1 smash "Stay" plus the hits "blah blah" would be enough

Hello (Turn Your Radio On) is such a great track (and Stay is obviously a classic). Interested to hear the new tracks.

Loved I Believe by Marcella too.

I Don’t Care was a great song too, a little bit manic but I adored it.

Will likely buy this if the remastering is decent

Yeah, that was a nice song. I don't remember much from the album Jewel though other than that - would've a good inclusion as a bonus track at least.

I loved stay. I will most likely buy this!

Oh wow - I never ever thought we’d see them reunite after their very public fall out and continued seemingly hatred for one another!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 10th May 2019, 12:37 AM

Ya I was surprised to,I love stay but I prefer siobhans work with bananarama.

Posted by: ThePensmith 10th May 2019, 10:03 AM

'Stay' is the only song of theirs I know, but since getting into Bananarama I've got more interested in the back story of Siobhan after she left. Might have to check this out!

Stay is my all time favourite single to grace the charts from a British act. I love their debut album, so many great tracks on there, plus their singles.

The single:

'tis okay after the first listen and I think it'll fit in well with their other singles. I'm looking forward to the video.

I love all three of their albums, but Hormonally Yours is really a must. I don't think there's a dud track on it to be honest.

They performed Stay on Graham Nortom and it was really...not good.

Posted by: dandy* 16th May 2019, 02:12 PM

I quite like the new track, it's a solid addition to their discography. I wish the best of didn't have quite so much later material on it, the chosen tracks are all kinda okay but they're not a patch on the album tracks from the first two. Either that or it would be nice to get remasters of the early albums along with the best of.

Posted by: PaulM1983 21st May 2019, 01:14 PM

I love the new track it's so typically them. The video is absolutely excellent too. The eye-roll after Marcy was holding the guy's hand on the pool table sent me. Brilliant stuff.

The Graham Norton performance wasn't Marcy's best vocal at all, but she sounded scared. I'm sure she was very nervous. It was like she was just too scared to let her voice go. That is also a fiendishly difficult song to sing. I just really enjoyed seeing them together again.

B-listed on Radio 2!!! :cheer

Posted by: tommie 19th July 2019, 07:46 AM

Singles Party is out today! I'm really curious as to how this will perform - I hope it can go top 40. The first Best of didn't even chart, so it would be nice if this one would be able to do that.

ETA:

iTunes:
#8 UK
#19 Sweden
#54 Switzerland
#66 Russia
#75 Mexico
#104 Germany
#117 France

Posted by: ___∆___ 19th July 2019, 07:32 PM

Surely this will go Top 20 - they missed a trick not releasing it on vinyl though tbh.

Posted by: tommie 17th August 2019, 01:48 PM

Apparently they're releasing an EP later this year in October/November to go with the tour and this is the tracklisting:

QUOTE
When She Finds You
Dangerous Game
Time To Say Goodbye
C U Next Tuesday
All The Queen's Horses

They're filming another video with Sophie Muller, I assume it's for When She Finds You since it's the first track.

They're doing a 30th Anniversary edition of Hormonally Yours:
