New single 'Everything Now' out tonight. It's been released on vinyl at Primavera Sound festival, some clips make it sound very disco, almost ABBA like... So they're continuing with that Reflektor sound perhaps? Exciting.
Album, 'Everything Now', out July 28th.
Incredible
i f***ing love this
YES arcade fire
I was worried after that crap Power song they released earlier this year that they would be losing their shine, but this is as wonderful as ever, absolutely love the instrumental and the choir at the end
So hyped for this, it's always worth the wait for them.
JOYOUS!
J'adore.
This is rather wonderful, I was a bit apprehensive about their new stuff given I Give You Power is the worst single they've released, possibly even their worst song, but this is great - a proper return to form.
by far and away my favourite Arcade Fire song since 'Sprawl #2 (Mountains Beyond Mountains)' which is probably my favourite AF song of all time
I heard the single and it was awful.
Everything Now is good but Creature Comfort is even better. So happy they're back at full power.
Creature Comfort is also amaze, so intense
Creature Comfort is just adorable.
so so so excited for the new album.
seeing these guys this very weekend. Gonna be spectacular yasssss
Everything Now is so so good!
Been two additional songs since Creature Comforts:
Songs with Regine as lead vocals are always This album's looking incredible!
Just seen this album is available on cassette through their website. Now that is some nostalgia format right there. Looking forward to this!
I've never really been a fan of Arcade Fire up until this era aside from thr odd track but Everything Now has encouraged me to listen to the album and I really enjoyed it. I think other my favourite track would have to be Electric Blue but it's all good stuff really. My absolute favourite is still the title track though, I'm glad we ended up getting three different versions of it on one album - they knew they had something good when they made that
Saw them live a few weeks ago and they really are unparalleled in terms of energy they bring to the stage, amazing. Their ode to the Manchester attack at the end was beautiful and heartbreaking in equal measure.
Just giving the album its first listen now. I'll be back ~~~
After such a wonderful comeback song - the album is massively poor. Wow.
Pitchfork gave it 5.something out of 10.
After all the negative feedback ever since the album leaked, as well as me generally being really unimpressed with most of the pre-release singles, I went into this expecting the worst, but the album goes down pretty well together. Probably my least favourite of the 5 though, it just doesn't have the highs of their older albums which have always had at least one song that lands as one of my absolute favourites of the year.
Quite impressed with this. Everything Now and Electric Blue are definitely the standout tracks.
Their new album does sound a little poor, I love Arcade Fire to bits, but their new material is hardly ticking any boxes, it might grow on me after a few more listens, The single though 'Everything Now' I'm loving it.
I understand the criticism to an extent, it peaks early and generally a bit unoriginal musically and lyrically compared to the likes of Reflektor, but I still think it's another very strong album from them, the production's generally great and it's lovely to hear Regine have a lead vocal again (even if Electric Blue isn't quite clicking with me yet).
Their 'social commentary' across the album is so cringeworthy, and Reflektor sounds like the sonic progression from this.
It's just a massive misstep. I'm a little gutted, the sales are impressive though.
They're doing a live gig tonight on Radio 1 during Annie Mac's show
Everything Now is wonderful. I have yet to have the chance to purchase the album and from seeing some of the reviews i am skeptical of purchasing. Is Everything Now any way reflective of the rest of the album for those here who have purchased it.
It's okay. I think the main issue is that the singles were so strong, especially 'Everything Now', the rest of the album rests in its shadow. It's a pleasant enough listen but it's not a patch on the first three I wouldn't say.
First track of theirs I've checked, I know they a huge band but they were one of the few I hadn't actually checked out any of their songs before, so hearing 'Everything Now' on the radio got me really interested in listening to the older stuff which I will do at some stage. This is excellent though, very unique and cool little track!
Creature Comfort is the next single!
Put Your Money On Me and We Don't Deserve Love have been combined together in this short film.
