1. "Tompkins Square Park" 2. "Believe" 3. "The Wolf" 4. "Wilder Mind" 5. "Just Smoke" 6. "Monster" 7. "Snake Eyes" 8. "Broad-Shouldered Beasts" 9. "Cold Arms" 10. "Ditmas" 11. "Only Love" 12. "Hot Gates" QUOTE(Rolling Stone) On their new album, Wilder Mind (out May 4th), Mumford & Sons have mostly removed their signature elements – banjo, acoustic strumming, stomping kick drum – and replaced them with U2-sized guitars, synths, spacey mellotrons and even some drum machines. "We felt that doing the same thing, or the same instrumentation again, just wasn’t for us," says frontman Marcus Mumford. "We’ve got a broader taste in music than just that." Adds Dwane, "None of us had really any interest in doing a sort of Babel 2. It was always going to be different." 'Babel' was kind of an inferior 'Sigh No More' for a lot of the album but I'm still not sure how to take to this news |

I did SUCH a u-turn on them last era, Babel was just the exact opposite of what I wanted after Sigh No More. I like them when they're doing something distinct yet remaining edgy like Little Lion Man and most of Sigh No More, not mainstream-friendly, faux-alternative tripe like I Will Wait
Not sure how to take their style change, it seems abrupt but fair enough as I don't know how they would have progressed at all sticking to the same sound. It's caught my interest nonetheless! This post has been edited by Chez Wombat: Mar 2 2015, 05:01 PM |

Looking forward to this. Can definitely see this being fairly synth heavy.

'I Will Wait' is definitely one of their worst songs, nevermind singles. 'Babel' did contain many highlights though, including the glorious 'Lover of the Light'
So many of my favourite artists releasing within a year though |

"Believe" is the first single. No premiere/release date yet though.
I loved "I Will Wait" but I'm interested in a change of sound as I've never really explored their albums past the singles. |

'Babel' was a bit of a step down from 'Sigh No More' but still had some great songs, the title track and 'Broken Crown' in particular, I don't get the hate against 'I Will Wait' either. Looking forward to this new stuff, coming earlier than I was expecting after they announced a hiatus a while back! Not sure what to expect of this new sound but yay for progression ~

It's a bit bland really I mean I appreciate them changing their sound, but I don't know if this is a convincing enough statement, it could be a Coldplay album track (though maybe that means I'll love it eventually haha) |

It's nice but doesn't strike me as WOW on first listen. I'm still not overkeen on 'I Will Wait' though and that was the first single last time and so I'm still excited for the album though as it will no doubt still contain some highlights.

Yeah it's very "at the time" for me atm, in the sense that I like it when I'm listening to it, but after two listens, I'm struggling to remember anything about it... it's just there! Hmm....
I can see it being a nice introductory single (to show everyone that they've changed their sound) but I'm thinking that there's something BIGGER and better on the album. |

Don't get the hate / indifference to "I Will Wait", I found it to be a beauty and I'm not usually that interested in them.
Much like "Believe", I'm finding this to be quite special, really love the last minute especially! |

This is the song everyone is calling boring / bland? I absolutely love it, especially the second half! A very welcome new sound from them. It is a bit Coldplay as Chez said but that's hardly a criticism.

As much as I loved (and still do, to an extent) Sigh No More there was no way I could've taken another Mumfords album like their last two, this is a nice surprise of a song.

So I take it this album is going to be a tribute to other popular bands?
'Believe' was Coldplay, and this is Kings Of Leon. |
