So happy that Adele is back at the top of the charts ! I can see two or three weeks here '! Grammys and Brits will only boast sales ! And hopefully when we will young will impact on the charts after the Brits performance 😝😝 Jack Garratt to challenge next week and 1975 the week after but Adele should have enough of a boost from Awards performances to hold on. |

I think Adele will have at least four consecutive weeks back at No. 1 starting from this week.

Was hoping #1 album would go to Ronan Keating or Rihanna. The only artist to stop One Direction from getting a #1 album can't even get a #1 album now

Jack Garratt to challenge next week and 1975 the week after but Adele should have enough of a boost from Awards performances to hold on. Could see The 1975 reaching #1 as they seem to have a pretty big following now! Sadly I don't think Jack Garratt's album will make the Top 10 |

I finally got to see the Anti CD in Asda today, there is no wonder it isn't selling you really wouldn't know it was her new album. No name or title and no tracklisting, 99% of people pick up an album and look at the back for tracks they know, no wonder it is called Anti!

So, 7 Years is going to sell more than 140k this week then.

I can see it doing more like 120-130k tbh.

Amazing for a song to sell so well after climbing the chart and on its second number one week Million seller eventually?!? seems very likely at this rate. It'll probably be the biggest selling song of the year too, we always seem to get those in the first month or two now (or even before then in the case of Uptown Funk/Happy). |

^Yep, because of streaming and very spread chart runs it's far easier to get a #1/top-10 Y/E in the first half or even quarter of the year.

I think the "who still doesn't own the Adele album?" comments started at about the 3m mark for 21, and have continued as it sells another 2m copies on top.
Starting the same comments at only 2.68m copies for 25 seems a tad premature. This post has been edited by rundmck: 16th February 2016, 09:51 AM |

in a regular week, the 1975 should be #1 with their sophomore album... but they chose to release on the same week as the Brits, and that might cost them if Adele gets a big increase from her performance/wins

It's very well established that successful albums continue to sell for a long time. 'Who doesn't already own this?' is always a pointless 'argument'.
Jack Garratt's album will probably be low top 5 at absolute best, but The 1975 should get a pretty easy #1, maybe for a few weeks. |

I'd say The 1975 are on for good first week sales though, like 60-70k (their first album did 31k first week and their fanbase has grown since).
Not that I'm ruling out Adele but I think they have a very good chance of going to #1. |

Yeah I can see the Brits overturning The 1975, who I can see doing 40k roughly.
